Attack on U.S. mission in
Libya presents legal, policy
dilemma for Obama administration

Washington Post, by Michael Birnbaum and Craig Whitlock

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 10/8/2012 11:39:27 PM

TRIPOLI, Libya — The Obama administration is confronting a legal and policy dilemma that could reshape how it pursues terrorism suspects around the world as investigators try to determine who was responsible for the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi. Should it rely on the FBI, treating the assaults on the two U.S. compounds like a regular crime for prosecution in U.S. courts? Can it depend on the dysfunctional Libyan government to take action? Or should it embrace a military option by ordering a drone strike — or sending more prisoners to Guantanamo Bay?

Oh let us go back to the Gorelick/klintoon wall of separation and treat things like crimes... Not terror attacks ...just déjà vu all over... With the resultant body count ...

Maybe first Obama should quit lying about Benghazi.
The security debacle there was created by the Obama State Department and Obama has spent weeks of lies covering it up.

Remember when this was all about an angry crowd of movie critics?
Now, Obama is starting to admit Al Qaeda was involved and talk about drone strikes.
Someone is lying.

The Obama administration is not going to do anything but campaign. What happens in Libya will be determined by whether or not the Libyans co-operate.

"How to pursue"?

No. That can't be a real question.

How? Everything, everywhere, 24/7/365, and all the state sponsors in the same bag, the same net, the same pot, too. Like piranhas just tossed a raw pork chop. Sheesh.

"...or sending more prisoners to Guantanamo Bay?"

Didn't Barry just buy a US prison over some law congress passed so he can put his beloved muslims out on the street after faux civilian trials?

What happened was an armed attack on a US consular post. That was an act of war by an enemy. That enemy should be identified, located, and killed. Then the USA big wigs will not have to struggle with all these perceived legal problems, and future enemies will know their fate if they dare to attack USA people and consular property.

Obama’s 2014 budget plan to
be delivered Wednesday —
into a yawning political void
Washington Post, by Lori Montgomery    Original Article

President Obama will unveil his 2014 spending plan Wednesday, 65 days late and several trillion dollars short, by Republican standards, of effectively reining in the national debt. But the more relevant fact about the White House budget may be the yawning political void into which it is about to fall on Capitol Hill. Administration officials say their plan offers a path to compromise, a centrist course that avoids the extreme spending cuts of the House Republican budget as well as the $1 trillion tax hike endorsed last month by Senate Democrats. The president’s proposal contains the same set of policies

Obama phone. Obama phone? A hotline, maybe, to the Oval Office? Hardly. “Obama phone” is the widely used — and misleading — nickname of a 28-year-old federal program known as Lifeline. For a few minutes the other night, the hot topic on CNN was .?.?. bacon. The panel on a new prime-time show called “(Get to) The Point” came out boldly in favor of it. “I had a double order this morning at breakfast,” confessed Jason Taylor, the pro-football-player-turned-“Dancing With the Stars”-contestant-turned-TV-gabber. “But there’s a restaurant in Miami. .?.?. You know, they have a great bar. They don’t serve bar nuts. They have bacon.” “Wow!” responded Margaret Hoover, a fellow panelist. There’s a Texas Republican who vocally stated that he supported background checks to keep guns away from those who shouldn’t have them. And an assault weapons ban. Don’t believe it? Former President George W. Bush said he supported background checks during the 2000 and 2004 presidential debates. Check out the video proof posted by Buzzfeed. “I believe law abiding citizens ought to be able to own a gun,” he said during a 2004 presidential debate against Democratic challenger John Kerry. “I believe in background checks, at gun shows, or anywhere to make sure

What Does Obama Think

It seems very odd that President Obama has made gun control the signature issue of his second term, so far. He can’t possibly achieve any significant legislation; a few tweaks to the background check system, maybe, but there is no chance of getting any meaningful gun control through the House. The House Democrats aren’t even trying. So it also seems strange that all eyes are on the Senate, where Harry Reid will unveil some sort of gun legislation–no one knows what, exactly–on Thursday. The party’s left-wing base is lining up behind the bill, sight unseen.

Police Poll: Armed Citizens,

In a poll conducted by PoliceOne, a majority of law enforcement personnel said universal background checks, "assault weapons" bans, and "high capacity" magazine bans do not make police safer and will not lower violent crime. Armed citizens, on the other hand, do make a positive difference. In the poll of 15,000 law enforcement professionals, 71% of respondents said an "assault weapons" ban would have zero impact on violent crime. Of those surveyed, 95.7% said the same of a "high capacity" magazine ban, and 79.7% said the same in response to a question on universal background checks.

Vice President Joe Biden gave a heated speech on reducing gun violence this afternoon, lashing out at Republican senators who have vowed to filibuster the gun-control legislation. “It’s almost mind-boggling,” Biden said to law-enforcement officials in Washington, D.C. He asked the senators to consider how their actions are being viewed by the international community: “In sophisticated capitals and in less-sophisticated capitals, they all reported on Sandy Hook, they all reported on Aurora.” “What do you think is being said today in those capitals about us?”

Margaret Thatcher captured Americans’ hearts and minds in a way few other foreign leaders have done, and much of that was because of the symbiotic relationship she had with President Reagan — a relationship that in many ways mirrored the storied “special” friendship between the two countries. Mrs. Thatcher, who died Monday at age 87, was a tough-talking maverick who was bullish on the promise of the U.S. as a force on the international stage. Those traits appealed to Americans weary of the 1970s malaise and eager to hear reasons to believe in themselves. “She had the perfect balance between

Guess which country is the world’s largest oil producer. No, it’s not Saudi Arabia or Russia. It’s the United States, which passed Saudi Arabia in November of 2012, according to data from the federal Energy Information Administration and reported in Investors Business Daily. In 2012 American domestic output rose by an astonishing 800,000 barrels a day. That’s more than total oil production in such middling oil producers as Argentina, and the greatest single-year increase in the United States since Edwin Drake drilled the first well in 1859. That has consequences far beyond the oil patches

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
