As John’s earlier post points out, there’s a revealing paragraph in today’s New York Times article on Obama’s dismal debate performance: Mr. Obama does not like debates to begin with, aides have long said, viewing them as media-driven gamesmanship. He did not do all that well in 2008 but benefited from Senator John McCain’s grumpy performances. Mr. Obama made clear to advisers that he was not happy about debating Mr. Romney, whom he views with disdain. It was something to endure, rather than an opportunity, aides said. Notice that it’s Romney himself who Obama
Wow. Great article and a subtle one. Obama does not like me. Obama disdains Romney. Obama sees debates as beneath him. Obama does not much want those pesky news conferences where he might be asked actual, you know, questions. Obama slashes and backstabs the military. Obama is one mean little Chicago pol. Does he like anything? Certainly Obama likes 'crucifying' business. Certainly 'death panels' fit his MO. Certainly Obama feels strongly about sluicing slush money to his bankrupt green subsidy Obama OBundler cronies. What a small man. Unfit to be President.
He is living the wet dream of every American hating and Christian hating socialist in this country.
In four years, he has managed to do immense damage to the greatness that was the USA.
With just four more years, he can finish the job of turning this country from the greatest superpower in the world's history into a third-world cesspool -- the thought of which is about 1,000 times better than sex to a sick socialist like him!!!
Obama likes mingling with the stars like snoopy dog, being on Letterman, and open access to the U.S. checkbook. He don't like congress, budgets, white people, Great Britain, capitalism, or the constitution.
Obama likes the perks , not doing the work. He's Lay-Z. 1500 US soldiers and Marines have come home from Afghanistan in flag draped coffins the past 45 months because the guy elected to be Commander in Chief just couldn't be bothered to do his job. Obama behaved as if shooting hoops ,playing golf and hanging with rappers was his only job description. He should have been impeached years ago for dereliction of duty. We can rectify that injustice on Nov 6.
~~But that’s not what the Times reports. Obama apparently dislikes debates because he views them as “media-driven gamesmanship… something to endure, rather than an opportunity.” In other words, debates are below him. It’s not that he’s a weak debater, it’s that the debate format is too trivial for the likes of Barack Obama.~~
Hopefully he won't have to 'endure' too much longer!
House Republicans opened a new front Tuesday in their examination of the IRS targeting issue, demanding all work-related e-mails from the personal account of agency official Lois Lerner. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) requested the communications in a letter to Lerner, who was placed on administrative leave in May after an inspector general’s report revealed that the agency had screened groups for extra scrutiny based on their political ideology. The congressman said investigators had discovered that Lerner sent
Wendy Davis, the pro-abortion Texas State Senator, is going to run for governor. Robert Miller, a lobbyist, has heard about the decision, and posted about it yesterday: Credible sources tell me that Sen. Wendy Davis will run for Governor in 2014 and not seek reelection to Texas Senate District 10. It will set up a high stakes match-up with Attorney General Greg Abbott in the November 4, 2014, general election. Sen. Davis believes that she faces a tough race regardless of whether she seeks reelection to the Senate or runs for Governor. In 2010, Gov. Rick Perry received 52.7% of
Liberal activist Cindy Sheehan, the activist mother of a slain Iraq solider who ran as the vice presidential candidate for the Peace and Freedom Party alongside Roseanne Barr, announced last week that she’s throwing her hat in the ring for a shot at being the next governor of California. Speaking at a Green Party rally in Wisconsin, Miss Sheehan proudly declared that she’s a Socialist, and she’s “not going to be ashamed to say it,” EAGnews.org first reported. “One of my biggest inspirations is President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela,” she added, receiving applause. “He convinced [citizens] that they could take
Sugar, even at moderate levels, could be toxic to your health — or at least to your sex life, a new study says. Scientists at the University of Utah looked at how sugar affected mice and found that the mouse equivalent of just three sugary sodas a day had significant negative effects on life span and competition for mates. “That’s three sodas if the rest of your diet is pristine and sugar-free,” said lead author and biologist James S. Ruff. “And those are 12-ounce sodas, not double Big Gulps.” Sugar-fed females died twice as quickly
TERRY MCAULIFFE, the Democratic nominee for governor of Virginia, launched an electric-car company shortly after his failure to win the same nomination four years ago. Over the years, he made lofty predictions about the pace of hiring and production at the firm, known as GreenTech Automotive. The company remains a fledgling, unproven venture with a modest payroll of 100 people and no significant production capacity; whether it takes off in the coming year, as company executives insist it will, is anyone’s guess. Judging by the evidence to date
President Obama liked the idea laid out in a memo from his staff: an ambitious plan to expand high-speed Internet access in schools that would allow students to use digital notebooks and teachers to customize lessons like never before. Better yet, the president would not need Congress to approve it. White House senior advisers have described the little-known proposal, announced earlier this summer under the name ConnectEd, as one of the biggest potential achievements of Obama’s second term. There’s just one catch: The effort would cost billions of dollars, and Obama wants to pay for it by raising fees for
So when I take in the evening network news, I tend to watch NBC, on the theory that you want to watch the worst of the big three, ideologically speaking. Besides, I can’t stand Diane Sawyer on ABC, and Scott. Pelley. On. C.B.S. Seems. To. Be. Trying. To. Imitate. Michael. Caine—without the style. Can’t even finish one of his sentences. Anyway, tonight’s broadcast contained a story about something familiar to Obamacare trackers: the number of employees having their hours reduced below 30 a week so as to escape the (delayed) Obamacare insurance mandate. NBC featured small business people, a college
The Missouri State Fair has banned for life a rodeo clown who wore a Barack Obama mask during a bull-riding competition and suggested that “Obama” might be run down by an angry bull. “Hey, I know I’m a clown,” the still-unidentified performer said. “He [Obama] is just running around acting like one. Doesn’t know he is one.” Many in the audience were amused; at least some were offended. The event was captured on home video, which quickly made the rounds of news reports. In a press release Monday, the State Fair said, “the statements and actions Saturday night were inappropriate
Oprah Winfrey lucked out this week. Just days before the release of her new movie The Butler, in which she plays the wife of a White House butler who watches the great civil rights battles from within 1600 Pennslyvania Avenue — and which features as its denoument the 2008 election of Barack Obama — Winfrey was involved in an international “racism” incident that she was forced to discuss while doing promotional work for the film. What are the chances of that! As James Taranto noted drily in the Wall Street Journal, Winfrey “went all the way to Europe to discover
Jane Fonda is out promoting her recurring role on HBO´s The Newsroom, the pay giant´s weekly progressive rant on the news of (yester)day. Fonda, who has a cameo playing Nancy Reagan in the new political drama Lee Daniels´ The Butler, told an online chat audience who she hopes will be paying close attention to the show´s second season: When asked who she thinks would benefit from watching the Aaron Sorkin drama, which is currently in its second season, Fonda offered the following names: Bill O´Reilly, Michael Savage. Glenn Beck, the tea partiers, Sarah Palin. "Those are the people I wish
WASHINGTON -- Joe Biden may run for president in 2016, or he may not. But he wants you to know he could. Iowa. New Hampshire. South Carolina. Michigan. Three years out from the next presidential election, the vice president is polishing his connections and racking up favors in all the right states to ensure he stays part of the conversation, keeping his name near the top of a list of likely contenders even if the prime spot seems to have already been claimed by Hillary Rodham Clinton. Biden´s advisers and friends say his crowded schedule of campaign events to boost
A deep distrust of government has led young Americans to hold up NSA leaker Edward Snowden as a hero, Sen. John McCain said Sunday. “There’s a young generation who believes he’s some kind of Jason Bourne,” the Arizona Republican said during on “Fox News Sunday,” referring to the lead character in the Bourne movie trilogy who battled his own government, particularly the CIA. Mr. Snowden’s revelations — including details of the National Security Agency’s data-collection efforts — have led to a debate on the national security vs. privacy question, and how to balance the two.
President Obama asserted the unilateral power to "tweak" inconvenient laws in last Friday´s news conference, underscoring his Administration´s increasingly cavalier notions about law enforcement. So it´s good that the judiciary—a coequal branch of government, in case the Administration forgot—is starting to check the White House. In a major rebuke on Tuesday, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals issued an unusual writ of mandamus, which is a direct judicial order compelling the government to fulfill a legal obligation. This "extraordinary remedy" is nominally about nuclear waste, writes Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the 2-1 majority, yet the case "raises significant questions about the
LOS ANGELES -- Oprah Winfrey says she's "sorry" a media frenzy emerged after saying she experienced racism during a trip to Switzerland."I think that incident in Switzerland was just an incident in Switzerland. I'm really sorry that it got blown up. I purposefully did not mention the name of the store. I'm sorry that I said it was Switzerland," Winfrey said "I was just referencing it as an example of being in a place where people don't expect that you would be able to be there," she continued. In recent interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Winfrey recalled a clerk at an upscale Zurich boutique refusing to show her a handbag. Winfrey said she was told she could not afford the $38,000 purse. Staff has added more text.
Oprah Winfrey says she´s kinda sorta "sorry" for the fallout that ensued after she told the media about a "racist" encounter at a purse store in Switzerland ... saying, "I´m really sorry that it got blown up." Yeah, right. Oprah addressed the media at the premiere of "The Butler" in L.A. last night -- backpedaling after the shop in question started to refute O´s allegations of racism during an incident last month. The shop owner says the whole thing was a "misunderstanding" and had "nothing to do with racism." Last night, Oprah said ... "I think that incident in Switzerland."
On August 12, Joe DiGenova, attorney for one of the Benghazi whistleblowers, told Washington D.C.´s WMAL that one of the reasons people have remained tight-lipped about Benghazi is because 400 U.S. missiles were "diverted to Libya" and ended up being stolen and falling into "the hands of some very ugly people." DiGenova represents Benghazi whistleblower Mark Thompson. He told WMAL that he "does not know whether [the missiles] were at the annex, but it is clear the annex was somehow involved in the distribution of those missiles."
The Missouri chapter of the NAACP appealed for the U.S. Department of Justice and the Secret Service to launch an investigation and open a federal case against the rodeo clown who donned a mask of President Obama’s face and mocked with the crowd: Do you want to see a bull run down Mr. Obama? The NAACP says the clown was guilty of inciting violence against the president. In a statement reported by Breitbart, the NAACP’s state president, Mary Ratliff, wrote: “The activities at the Missouri State Fair targeting and inciting violence against our president are serious and warrant a full
Last week I wrote a column about the reality that House Republicans are ready to cave on so-called comprehensive immigration reform. There was a final paragraph in that column my editor decided not to use. That is the editor’s right for two reasons: one, every site has a voice they wish to adhere to interns of form and content; and two, he who pays, gets the final say. Ironically, what was omitted by my editor was not lost on scores of astute letter writers who commented on the piece. I would like them to know that I have the same feelings
Soon after the 10th anniversary of the foundation bearing his name, Bill Clinton met with a small group of aides and two lawyers from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Two weeks of interviews with Clinton Foundation executives and former employees had led the lawyers to some unsettling conclusions. The review echoed criticism of Mr. Clinton’s early years in the White House: For all of its successes, the Clinton Foundation had become a sprawling concern, supervised by a rotating board of old Clinton hands, vulnerable to distraction and
IRS? A system of voluntary tax compliance cannot survive a dishonest IRS. Lois Lerner and company have virtually ruined the agency. For the foreseeable future, each time an American receives a tax query, he will wonder to what degree his politics ensures enhanced or reduced scrutiny — or whether his name as a donor, activist, or partisan has put him on a watch list. Worse still, when a high commissioner of the IRS takes the 5th Amendment, it sends a frightening message: those audited go to jail when they refuse to testify; those who audit them who do the same
In the wake of a rodeo clown’s anti-Obama skit this weekend, the Missouri State Fair is forcing all clowns to undergo sensitivity training. The state fair commission voted Monday to ratify the decision to ban the clown in question who wore an Obama mask as the rodeo announcer asked if the crowd wanted to see him get run down by a bull. The crowd enthusiastically approved, according to local media reports. But the state commission went further, saying it will require that before the Rodeo Cowboy Association can take part in any future state fair, “they must provide evidence to
Over the weekend, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is “for big government and trying to go along to get along.” She added that Christie has “got a schtick going there where he’s got a YouTube videographer following him around, kind of these set-up situations sometimes so he can be seen as perhaps a little bit avant-garde and going rogue on things.” Christie said nothing in return. He should. Here’s why.Taking on Palin is good politics for Christie or Jeb Bush or anyone else who is planning to run as a quasi-establishment candidate for president in
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday that she will soon tour the nation and deliver a series of speeches to promote more trust in government. She made her remarks at an annual American Bar Association meeting in San Francisco. More specifically, Mrs. Clinton said she was launching a series of speeches on foreign policy. And as part of those addresses, she planned to speak about the need to restore faith in government, Breitbart reported. She also bashed voter identification laws, telling 1,000 members of the
Reggie Love says he and President Obama played cards during the Osama bin Laden raid, and that the president told him, "I can´t watch this entire thing." (Snip for video)"“Most people were like down in the Situation Room and [President Obama] was like, ‘I’m not going to be down there, I can’t watch this entire thing,’ We must have played 15 games of spades,” said Love at a public event. Love was Obama´s "body man," and spent much time with his boss while he worked for Obama at the White House.
