Did Obama Just Throw
The Entire Election Away?

Daily Beast, by Andrew Sullivan

Original Article

The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 - 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 - 45 lead. That's a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. Before Obama had leads on every policy issue and personal characteristic; now Romney leads in almost all of them. Obama's performance gave Romney a 12 point swing! I repeat: a 12 point swing. Romney's favorables are above Obama's now. Yes, you read that right. Romney's favorables are higher than Obama's right now. That gender gap that was Obama's firewall? Over in one night:

Comments:
The Pew poll doesn't have the same internal skew that the MSM has been trying to pass off as unbiased. Still, it's amazing how many otherwise intelligent folks can't apply Occam's razor to last week's presidential debate. This wasn't a debate about an obscure topic , it was a debate about the self stated first priority of the Obama admin and BO was totally incapable of coherently stating his position let alone effectively defending it; It's clear that an utterly vacuous man has given us four years of drift and decay based on an imploding personality cult.

If unclear where to split headline, look at other examples on website. Also, please post to word limit. LCom Staff.

Andrew Sullivan is in full pearl clutch mode.

No, Obama didn't just throw the election away. The msm won't let that happen. Already they're helping to spread the false meme that Romney was dishonest during the debate.

Obama doesn't have to do anything but stand there and be eye candy and his followers will drag him across the finish line.

No getting cocky for the Republicans.

I hope! At the gym tonight, the only television I could see was showing MSNBC, and the talking Leftists were talking about how Joe Biden was going to bury poor Paul Ryan.

They were claiming that Joe Biden was a Foreign Policy Master, and understood every nuance of Foreign Policy... No Joke!

This was a great read. No Republican is thinking this is in the bag but boy are we energized. We are still the broken glass party. I hope Andrew put his deodorant on today because it sounds like he is in a real sweat. If they are counting on Biden coming across as sane they really are grasping at straws. Sorry, Andrew, but the fact that you are devastated makes me want to happy dance.

I agree with #7. The Republicans do appear to have been oversampled.

I believe Romney is probably ahead, based on Rasmussen and the fact that he is leading among independents, but I am trying to be cautious about polls that seem to oversample either party.

I still like seeing the media go nuts over this poll, though.

I too hope the polls are right but hold back my applause until we get Mitt in office. Either Obama doesn't want another four years or he's going to steal it in some way or other. He's way to complacent about this and THAT worries me. Candy Dandy Andy cries in his lace undies. Too bad Andy. An empty suit is an empty suit and a ruse is a ruse. Your guy is outed. Andrew has the vapors over this. I don't think Obama has thrown the election away. Romney can't get complacent. Remember how Bush came back after a bad first debate in 2004--or more accurately, how Kerry self-destructed by talking about a Cheney's "lezzzbian" daughter? A similar misstep by Romney could put Obama right back in it.

Sullivan is just determined to say that Romney is just lying about his whole plan. Yet he gives no real evidence. I actually watched the debate a couple days late and I didn't observe the meltdown that people were moaning about. Certainly BO looked uneasy and made some foolish faces but several things he was criticized over, like saying the moderator could move on, were mis-characterized.

But what BO did is the same thing that Sullivan is doing, INSISTING on their own version of truth. Romney says there is no plan for a $5 trillion cut, in fact says that his guiding principle is that the wealthy will pay the same amount in total dollars. That's pretty clear.

BO's only response was to repeat the lie about $5 trillion in cuts, which I'm sure Sullivan believes as well. That's because their "math" skills apparently stopped at first grade. Only considering the rate, taxes would drop. But there is crystal clear evidence that when rates drop the amount of revenue often goes UP. Why? Because people make more money. You may pay less when you make a $million but you now make $2 million instead. Your total tax paid goes up. Everyone wins. But BO apparently flunked Real Economics 101.

Every time BO lied, Romney corrected him. Real people clearly did NOT believe BO and took Romney at his word. Further, Romney clearly showed that BO made many promises that he failed to keep and others that he lied about. Romney essentially called BO a "young man" lying and it went unanswered. It's hard to rebut the truth.

This getting exciting!!! But we need to be very cautious. Zippy senses his situation and since the door closed behind him Wednesday night, I'll bet he's stirred every pot and chewed out anyone who came close to him. You know he's in a tight and we know how people who are in this tight of a spot can react. There's no telling what he'll come up with. That Ex.ORd.13603 is probably in his pocket, ready to go along with several other goodies that could really mess things up in the next 4 weeks.
So let's all pay very close attention and make sure we understand everything that happens. NO SURPRISES!! I am locked and loaded, too.

KNOW PEW

n 1957, J Howard Pew, founder of Sunoco, created the J. Howard Pew Freedom Trust with his $1 billion estate trust with instructions that it use its funds to "acquaint the American people" with "the evils of bureaucracy," "the values of the free market," and "the paralyzing effects of government controls on lives and activities of people," to "inform our people of the struggle, persecution, hardship, sacrifice and death by which freedom of the individual was won" and to educate them about how "Socialism, Welfare statism [and] Fascism . . . are but devices by which government seizes the ownership or control of the tools of production." In accordance with those wishes, the Freedom Trust funded mostly libertarian and conservative activities, as long as its board consisted of Pew family members and friends.

Think that's still Pew today?
Think someone got in there and twisted J Howard's clearly stated estate instructions to fortress the Left?

Dang right it happened. NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING FROM PEW.

Nice to see excitable Andy getting in lockstep with the rest of his new (since 2007) BFF's, babbling about Romney's so-called "lies." Andy seems to be a bit petulant that Obama didn't "rebut" Romney's "lies", which is the sole reason, he thinks, that Obama is dropping in the polls like a paralyzed buzzard.

This is boilerplate Sullivan, minus the Trig Trutherism -- for a change.

This means thermo-nuclear war from their side. They will now lie much more, cheat like they are going to be hanged tomorrow and Obama will bomb Iran before they lose.

Denver — The elements of Mitt Romney’s Rocky Mountain rout were hatched weeks ago in Vermont’s Green Mountains. In early September, Romney slowed down his campaign schedule and retreated with a small group of advisers to the home of Kerry Healey, his former lieutenant governor. Ohio senator Rob Portman, a trusted ally, joined Stuart Stevens, Eric Fehrnstrom, Bob White, and a handful of other Romney confidants. They spent days holding mock debates, and nights reviewing President Obama’s stylistic tics. When they needed a break, they roamed around Healey’s secluded estate, which is 100 miles south of Burlington, Vt. ...

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”
