Reporter Lara Logan brings ominous news from Middle East

| This was no ordinary rubber chicken affair. That was my reaction to the extraordinary keynoter at Tuesday’s Better Government Association annual luncheon. Lara Logan, a correspondent for CBS’ “60 Minutes,” delivered a provocative speech to about 1,100 influentials from government, politics, media, and the legal and corporate arenas. Such downtown gatherings are a regular on Chicago’s networking circuit. (I am a member of the BGA’s Civic Leadership Committee, and the Chicago Sun-Times was a sponsor). Her ominous and frightening message was gleaned from years of covering our wars in the Middle East.
|
Comments: Rush just reported this. This is quite astounding coming from a CBS reporter. However, in view of what happened to her at the hands of those savages over there it really shouldn't be.

Logan was reportedly sexually assaulted by the muslim mob e.g. Obama's thugs in the Middle East. She is telling the truth about Obama's Policy. FTA "The event is a harbinger of our vulnerability, she said. Logan hopes that America will “exact revenge and let the world know that the United States will not be attacked on its own soil. That its ambassadors will not be murdered, and that the United States will not stand by and do nothing about it.”" One caveat - it is not Obama's "failed" policy - it is his treasonous objective to take America down from within and to empower the Muslim Brotherhood and AQ - the chief terrorist is in the White House.

She's dead on. This is a very brave woman. She did a segment on 60 minutes from a forward outpost in Afghanistan right on the border. It was under constant attack. She doesn't phone it in from the rooftop of a downtown Marriott.

Lara Logan found out and knows well how savage the Muslims over there can be to people from Western countries.
When listening to Logan on TV, it is very apparent that she, unlike a lot of others in the media, always supports the troops.

FTA - There is this narrative coming out of Washington for the last two years, Logan said. It is driven in part by Taliban apologists, who claim they are just the poor moderate, gentler, kinder Taliban, she added sarcastically. It’s such nonsense!
Sounds like she fears the USA is becoming 'Obamistan'.

Says the writer:
"In the 'good old days,' reporters did not advocate, crusade or call for revenge.
"In these 'new' days in a post-9/11 world, perhaps we need more reporters who are willing to break the rules."
I think when you give a speech at an event, you are not a reporter, but a speaker, giving your life's experiences. Her experiences have shown her that Muslims are pigs with no self control, and that they will always be that way unless they are smacked down militarily. Obama thought that his mere election would soothe their collective savage breasts. And Charlie Gibson had the nerve to throw the "hubris" label on Sarah Palin?

The only way to ''handle" the Taliban and al Qaeda is to eradicate them. And all Islamofascists must be made to fear us to such an extreme that they wet their rags when rumor of our military or US agents being passes by them. And we must not be afraid to use massive destructive force against them. History has taught us this repeatedly and those who won't learn this don't repeat it; they vanish from history.

FTA: ''In these “new” days in a post-9/11 world, perhaps we need more reporters who are willing to break the rules.''
The real problem of any ''reporter'' in a given situation is your humanity. Do you film the fire or event, or rescue the trapped person, or jump in the lake to save a drowning child? When you stumble upon a lead of a possible attack on a military installation, do you keep quiet, even when they are there to protect you, even at their own peril? Do you plead the evil regime's case to have a seat at their news conferences?
Simple put, if you have NO moral compass, your words are useless to convey what may have truthfully happened to US.

I take the things she said for granted. And this writer gets frightened? Well if she's been frightened all along OK but if she's just been frightened then I am further frightened at the further evidence of our media class's incompetence.

Ms. Logan experienced first hand how "The religion of peace" treats women who don't appear in a Hijab to do their job. I say good for her for the courage to speak her mind no matter how uncomfortable it is for the media establishment. Ms. Washington sounds like one of those reporters who thinks as long as a candidate is on her side of the political spectrum no woman should ever criticize them no matter the indignities they suffered. I suspect Ms. Washington supported Bill Clinton's right to say "Better put some ice on that."

While we're on the subject, what do the rise of radical Islam in Iran, the plotting of terrorist attacks in the US by al Qaeda and al Qaeda's return and attack on a US Embassy and the murder of our ambassador have in common? All occurred under Democratic presidents.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
