Obama: Green energy
not ‘socialist plot’

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Ben Geman

Original Article

President Obama quipped Sunday night that energy efficiency initiatives are not a “socialist plot” in remarks that contrasted his energy policies with rival Mitt Romney’s. The president, fundraising in Los Angeles, addressed energy during a $25,000-per-plate dinner with backers that included actor George Clooney. “On energy, I’m big on oil and gas, and developing clean coal technology, but I also believe that if we’re ever going to have control of our energy future, then we’ve got to invest in solar and wind and biofuels, and that it does make sense for us to double our

Comments:
That green energy sure has been successful! Isn't he funny and cavalier about the energy crisis in this nation. s/o He's a pathological liar that he's "big on oil and gas, and developing clean coal technology." I live for the day I don't have to see that vile individual spouting his lies every day .

0bama's green energy policy has been a dismal failure; he has pumped Billions of Dollars into companies his friends manage, and they have all failed. 0bama rewrote contract law so that the taxpayers are NOT first to get their money back, rather 0bama's friends keep all the money left over, and the taxpayer is left with nothing. Socialism? Well, perhaps it is worse than socialism.

Of course it is a socialist plot, though it is perfectly possible the principal plotters are themselves unaware of it. Economic naifs like Obama and most other Leftists don't understand how the world works. They don't understand human beings - including themselves. And for people who like to brag about their intelligence and education, they are remarkably ignorant of history.

If Obama knew anything about history besides slogans and sound bites he would know that whenever the government "invests" in something there is always colossal waste, corruption and fraud. Much of the money "invested" in the transcontinental railroad and other railroads went into the pockets of cronies and crooked politicians. Thus it comes as no surprise that Obama's "investments" in green energy have done the same. Public officials either do not know how to use public funds wisely - or they are too corrupt to do so. They have no skin in the game, moneywise. It is misleading to speak of "investing" when those responsible for the "investments" have nothing at stake. The correct word would be disbursing or allocating. Such disbursements and allocations are made, not on financial, i.e. reality based considerations, but solely upon political grounds.

People like Obama and other Leftists should never, ever be given authority over public monies or anything else of national importance. They are like children who have no idea how the world actually works but are guided by their fantasies, whims and wishful thinking. Unlike children, however, they seldom learn from experience. They make the same mistakes again and again because their fantasies are more important to them than the real world.

If you stool Obama on his head, he'd be right side up. The guy is upside down and backwards on everything.

Let THE MARKET invest in green energy; you, Obama, don't have the right to take the public's money and invest it wherever you want. I use the term "invest" loosely because you, Obama, have used public money to invest in your own re-election by handing it over to crony corporations that will use that money to support your campaign.

That is corruption at the highest level.

Climate change, cap and trade, and green energy are socialist plots to get other people's money. Obama should not be president. It's time to end it.

And, yes, cronyism is very prevalent in Socialist countries. So while it might not be a "plot", it is certainly a side effect of your policies.

Forward to the 11th century:

Evidence of windmills in England dates from the 12th century, with earlier references to "mills" (such as in the 11th century Doomsday Book) generally held to be talking about either animal or water powered mills.

As steam power developed, the uncertain power of the wind became less and less economic, and we are left today with a tiny fraction of the elegant structures that once extracted power from the wind. These remaining windmills, scattered throughout the world, are a historic, and certainly very photogenic, reminder of a past technological age.

Briefly, "clean coal" means that many coal producers will close as they cannot afford
to meet the terms of the mandate. Obama and the EPA know that and that is their goal.

There is a 3-part policy being pushed by this administration.

Part 1 is green energy which is given fat subsidies to enrich politically connected friends and help it compete with conventional power

Part 2 is to monkey-wrench conventional power by attacking hydraulic fracturing, reneging on permits approved for mountain top removal, closing Yucca Mtn, denying the permit for Keystone XL, and the moratoriums and permitorium on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

Part 3 is paying eco groups to sue the EPA.

The *only* thing I can see that Obama really believes in on his own is "green energy". Unfortunately he lacks the mathematical ability, much less the scientific education, of an average fourteen year old. Was already into choom at that age, I guess. So he just doesn't know when he's spouting gibberish.

As to socialist plots, when Obama suggests filling a pothole, the way he does EVERYTHING makes it sound like a socialist plot. He *wants* it to sound like that.

During the Vietnam War, starring Democrat Lyndon Johnson, there was a popular hippie saying, something like " Ten miles up the Big Muddy, and the big fool says to move on."

Perhaps someone could correct me as to the wording, but we should cry out " No more Solyndras, but this year's leader says to move on".

U.S. employers added jobs at a solid pace in March in the latest sign that the economy is rebounding from a weak stretch brought on by a harsh winter. The Labor Department says employers added 192,000 jobs, slightly below February´s total of 197,000. Employers also added a combined 37,000 more jobs in February and January than previously estimated. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.7 percent. But a half-million Americans started looking for work last month, and most of them found jobs. How could Big Labor and the Chamber of Commerce and the tech world and Big Agriculture all unite behind one bill? Very tentatively. It wouldn´t take much to break the coalition apart. And if that happens, the effort to enact comprehensive immigration reform could blow up, not just for the moment, but for some time to come. And there are signs that is exactly what is occurring now. It´s the end of an era: David Letterman announced Thursday that he´s retiring from CBS´ "Late Show" sometime next year. He made that announcement during the taping of his program this afternoon. The late-night talk show host, who will celebrate his 67th birthday next week, made his debut on the "Late Show" on Aug. 30, 1993. Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Moran believes that this is the wrong way to go, not necessarily talking about himself in particular, but saying there

The human kindling that makes up the flammable Republican base may soon burst into flames, again. Portions of that excitable cohort are looking — some with fawn-like eyes filled with hurt, others with sparks shooting from eyes narrowed like gun slits — askance at other Republicans urging Jeb Bush to seek the 2016 presidential nomination. A candidacy by Florida’s former governor would be desirable. But if Republicans want to avoid intra-party carnage, they should be very careful about doing what The Post recently reported: “Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft

According to a report via BuzzFeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro, President Barack Obama requested the opportunity to address the nation in prime time on the major broadcast networks on Tuesday night to announce that the Affordable Care Act had reached 7 million enrollees. Those networks did not, however, accommodate the White House’s request. “Three sources familiar with the request confirmed the White House asked for the prime time slot in their effort both to emphasize a bright moment following the challenging roll out and, more important, to try to reintroduce the country to a law that remains unpopular,”

Earlier this week on Boston’s WRKO-AM’s The Howie Carr Show, conservative commentator Ann Coulter shocked some conservatives when she said she is making 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney her favorite for the 2016 Republican contest. Last month in an interview on CBS’s Face the Nation, Romney himself ruled out the possibility of a 2016 run and said he was instead focused on who to get behind in that contest. Coulter, however, wishes otherwise. “Well, don´t tell him but I´m planning on giving Mitt Romney a little more time to rest -- flying out, kidnapping him and depriving him of sleep, food and

President Barack Obama contended that the government did not “make a hard sell” for Obamacare, despite his administration spending nearly $700 million to promote the law. “We didn’t make a hard sell,” Obama said in the Rose Garden on Tuesday, praising the 7.1 million sign ups for the Affordable Care Act. “We didn’t have billions of dollars of commercials like some critics did.” However, last July the Associated Press reported that Obamacare’s marketing campaign would cost at least $684 million. Taxpayer funding went to all 50 states in efforts to encourage people to enroll, including nearly $28 million for the
