Claim: Obama campaign illegally

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign has been soliciting foreigners for donations, an explosive report from the conservative Government Accountability Institute (GAI) shows. Those foreign donors are allegedly visiting the Obama campaign’s donation solicitation Web pages through a social media website the campaign controls, and through an outside website that serves mostly Internet users from outside the United States. About 20 percent of visitors to the “my.barackobama.com” social media website “originated from foreign locations,” the report found. That Web address is owned and controlled by the Obama re-election campaign. “At no point during the [website's] subscription process

Comments:
This, of course, will completely overshadow Romney's Foreign Policy speech. On the other hand, maybe this news reinforces Romney's warnings of the danger Obama places us in.

Sessions´ victory against Tea Party challenger

Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) has won his primary, beating back a Tea Party-backed challenger. Sessions led local Tea Party leader Katrina Pierson by 69 percent to 31 percent with early votes counted when the Associated Press called the race. The House Rules Committee chairman and former National Republican Congressional Committee chairman came prepared for the primary, raising and spending nearly $1.5 million for the race. Pierson showed some early signs that she might be competitive. She won the backing of FreedomWorks and Tea Party Express as well as from Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) father, Rafael Cruz, and conservative blogger Michelle Malkin. But she

First one month, then two days before the presidential election of 2012, Henry Olsen, (then of the American Enterprise Institute and now with the Ethics and Public Policy Center) wrote two different articles explaining how and why Mitt Romney would lose, because he was not making emotional contact with blue collar white voters -- a prediction validated by the exit polls, which revealed Romney had carried the voters on the issues of values and leadership, and failed when he flunked the most critical metric of "cares about people like you." When Olsen talks, people should listen, most of all to his

What did Tom Perez know and when did he know it? That’s one of the questions congressional investigators were asking as they probed what increasingly looked like a whitewash of the Internal Revenue Service scandal. Perez, now secretary of labor, was formerly head of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, where his key aide Barbara K. Bosserman was chosen to head up the DOJ’s investigation of the IRS. Many Republicans suspect the investigation is aimed not at finding the truth about abuses at the tax agency, but rather at sweeping any wrongdoing—including the deliberate targeting of Tea Party groups—under

In Washington, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose—it’s how long you play the game. Witness the reaction last week to the announcement that Michigan congressman John Dingell would make this, his 29th term in the House of Representatives, his last. The 87-year-old Detroit-area Democrat has been a member of Congress since the 1950s, serving alongside 11 presidents, 10 House speakers, and nearly 2,500 different representatives. “I’m not going to be carried out feet first,” Dingell said about his retirement, but you get the sense some in Washington wish he would stay until the bitter end. President Obama announced last week a new race-based initiative, My Brother’s Keeper. According to the White House, the program will coordinate government agencies and private foundations to help young men and boys of color. “Of color” basically means blacks and Latinos. In fact, it’s pretty obvious the program is aimed at young black men. This fact has invited some conservative criticism. The Weekly Standard’s Terry Eastland notes that the program is likely unconstitutional. Doling out benefits explicitly based on race is generally a no-no, according to the Supreme Court. Even more frowned on: discrimination against women. The program will categorically exclude women and

John Cornyn easily won his Republican Senate primary Tuesday, crushing firebrand challenger Rep. Steve Stockman on a Tuesday that was shaping up to be good for the GOP establishment. As the kick-off of the 2014 primary season, the Texas races have not shaped up into the test of the GOP establishment that some activists hoped for, partly because of the weakness of the tea party challengers. The crisis in Ukraine has brought out a fresh round of critics of President Obama´s foreign policy who see a pattern emerging: the president tries to assert his authority and direct events on the world stage with empty threats, which inevitably have no follow through. With each instance, U.S. power grows weaker as foreign powers view Mr. Obama as the president who cried wolf. The latest case: Mr. Obama´s public warning to Russia to stay out of Ukraine was followed by an invasion just days later. It´s just the latest failure, say critics who point to Syria as an example.
