Romney surge post-debate overtakes Obama
Investor's Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

Posted By:SurferLad, 10/8/2012 8:32:29 AM

Based on his commanding debate performance, Republican Mitt Romney has erased President Obama's lead in the most recent days to pull into a tie among registered voters nationally in a brand-new Gallup Tracking Poll. Gallup's standard tracking poll uses a seven-day rolling average, in this case, the night of the debate and three nights on either side. Obama enjoyed a four- to six-point lead during the three days before the Oct. 3 Denver debate. But in the three days after, that lead evaporated into a dead heat at 47% each.

Romney's status is probably better than even these figures suggest. I am increasingly confident that this election is Romney's to lose. And likewise, I feel that the Romney camp has the discipline, focus and guts to play offense for the next several weeks.

Did anyone else watch "Morning Joe". I by mistake had it on and I swear they were talking about Gallup giving Obama a significant lead. I turned it off, but now I think they were intentionally being dishonest, wow.

Gallup + registered voters = inaccurate all around.

It should be *likely* voters. I'm guessing that Romney is up a few to several points in key states now.

Oh, the ego harm! How dare anyone make The Empty Suit appear so stupid and uninformed!'
.... But Obama knew what to do. He quickly ran down to Hollywood for a therapeutic massage to his self-esteem. The brilliance of starland's great minds and the availability of their open pocketbooks was enough to convince Obama that he is still walks on water.

After the obamanation-administration went after Gallup, all credibility in their polls, good or bad, is gone. Still with the "registered voters"? Seriously? According to gallup, the dear Leader will RETAIN his lead right up to Nov. 6 when he will be ousted, much like his hero, Hugo Chavez SHOULD have been!

The American media endure a soiled reputation in the United States these days. Rightly so too often. Many of its members failed their sentry duty during the run-up to the 2008 presidential elections, and oftentimes since covering only selectively positive parts of Barack Obama´s reign of error. Today´s column reminds us there is media and then there is media. Anja Niedringhaus was a member of the other media. A photojournalist for the Associated Press, she covered conflict for 20-plus years from the Balkans and Libya to Kuwait and Afghanistan. She´s dead now.

Hi, I’m U.S. Senator Tim Scott from the great state of South Carolina. As we all know, the most important issue facing our nation today is job creation. Unfortunately, it’s been that way for the last six years. But instead of tackling the causes of unemployment and underemployment, too many politicians are focused only on the effects and on making political points.

Hi, everybody. Today, our economy is growing and our businesses are consistently generating new jobs. But decades-long trends still threaten the middle class. While those at the top are doing better than ever, too many Americans are working harder than ever, but feel like they can’t get ahead. That’s why the budget I sent Congress earlier this year is built on the idea of opportunity for all.

One of the most powerful tools politicians have at their disposal is self-deprecation, the skill of making gentle fun of themselves in public, enough to get a laugh and show a humble human side. But not enough to feed critics. Ronald Reagan was the modern master of that. [Snip] Wednesday night´s Tonight Show revealed both Jimmy Fallon´s deft timing and skills in comedic sketches and the continuing power and skill of his surprise guest.

Administration agencies are currently revising nutritional recommendations that will guide federal food and meal purchases for years after Barack Obama is playing golf behind his presidential library. The federal Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee -- these are the folks who brought us the carb-heavy food pyramid now deemed erroneous -- is meeting these days to update nutritional guidelines to conform with new scientific evidence and with the determination of First Lady Michelle Obama to change America´s eating habits.

Acknowledgment from the podium. It´s one of the most powerful public tools available to any American politician. And it´s free. Thank their good friend so-and-so in front of a large crowd. It´s a predictable staple of Barack Obama´s repetitive rhetoric nowadays. [Snip] So, it was unusually revealing Tuesday afternoon when an ebullient Obama launched his ObamaCare ´enrollment´ victory lap with not one single acknowledgment. He was not going to share this self-congratulatory moment with anyone.

The Obama administration today will tout impressive enrollment numbers for ObamaCare with the confident precision that can only come from the knowledge that no one else is counting. No one else can count the numbers. Because the Obama administration controls access to all the numbers. It´s probably a coincidence, but that is exactly the way votes are counted by the Chicago Democratic machine. And if the Obama crowd is strutting for the media over enrollment numbers, Americans aren´t hearing more about his growing list of foreign policy embarrassments.

Late-night comedians and their writers pounce on the day´s news as their primary source to twist and distort into laughs. Russia, of course, remains a hot item following the "uncontested arrival" of its troops in Crimea. Reflecting the diminished approval of President Obama, the late-night shows have been aiming their laughs at him more. Even Jimmy Fallon, who kicked off his Jay Leno replacement tour with a Michelle Obama interview, has aimed some laughs at his presidential pal. Although he quickly returns with something barbed at Republicans.

Good morning. I’m Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. Today, I’m calling on President Obama — the Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces — to support H.R. 4031, the VA Management Accountability Act. I do so as a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee. [Snip] We need this commonsense bill because it will empower the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to fire senior officials who aren’t up to the job. President Obama, whose poll approval numbers hover weakly around 40% among Americans, met Thursday with Pope Francis, whose approval numbers among the same people are 76%. Now, you know why the Chicago Democrat sought the meeting. The two leaders exchanged gifts. The Vicar of Christ gave the ex-state senator a copy of his book "The Joy of the Gospel." The 44th president gave the head of the world´s Roman Catholic Church a box of fruit and veggie seeds from his wife´s garden. In Dearborn, Mich., home to over 40,000 Americans of Arab descent, some Muslim parents have complained about flyers handed out at public schools advertising an Easter egg hunt at a local Presbyterian church. The Muslim parents assert that the flyers – emblazoned with the word “Eggstravaganza!” – violate the separation of church and state widely ascribed to the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause, reports the Detroit Free Press. Students at three Dearborn elementary schools received the flyers. A large number of Muslim students attend the schools. Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing
