| CARACAS - In past Venezuelan elections there have been rumors of violence, but they never amounted to much. This time around, with President Hugo Chávez forced to contemplate the possibility of handing over the country to opposition leader Henrique Capriles, some Venezuelan radical groups think that violence is a true possibility. Threatening graffiti messages have popped up on the streets of Caracas portraying slogans like, "Everything with Chávez, bullets without him," "It's not enough to vote, we have to fight" and "There's a candidate, there's a commander, there's a united people ready for combat." But this is not all.

Sounds like Chavez has been taking a leaf from Obama and his black panther thugs.

More Catholic than the Pope? Chavez himself says he will accept the election result.
Hugo is a lousy President, has no idea of how to run a nation, thinks socialism works, and plays to the crowd.
But he has not become a murderous tyrant determined to rule at any cost. Maybe his bouts with cancer have made him reflect about mortality.
I'm guessing he will lose, accept it, and these radicals will get nowhere.

Convenient for Chavez to stick around for a 'national emergency?' I still don't see this Marxist goon calmly strolling away from the trappings of power. Even in handcuffs he wouldn't be calm.

I'm betting Hugo got a phone call from the generals saying no, they are not going to risk international war crimes tribunals for all the bodies in the streets they leave just to keep someone in power who is going to die of cancer in six months anyway.

Violence: It has started. Chavista goons have shot into voter lines in Petare, the biggest slum in Caracas, which is ful of anti-chavista sentiment. They killed two more in another place called Tacarigua.

Univision, meanwhile, is reporting that American Airlines is betraying thousands of venezuelans over its airline seat issue, canceling flights at the last minute for prevent venezuelans from going home to caracas to vote. Sound like union thugs have been paid off to keep those planes grounded.

Met a group of AA pilots including one of their chief union reps. They were vicious when they realized I was not an Obama supporter. Union thugs- not surprised they would be supporting Chavez by canceling flights to Venezuela. They should all be fired and replaced with ex military returning home.

If Hugo loses I think he will follow the Zelaya model in Honduras...hopefully with the same end result...and, as with Zelaya, PIAPS and Bammy will try their best to keep the commie in charge.

After being carried through the streets of London in a flag-draped coffin aboard a gun carriage, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was laid to rest this morning in St. Paul´s Cathedral. But the big story of the day wasn´t Maggie. No, it was a 19-year-old Texan who stole the show from the deceased Iron Lady. With a poise reminiscent of the elder Thatcher, Amanda Thatcher, Margaret´s granddaughter, delivered a reading from Epistles that has the British media agog. Amanda, who lives with her mother in Texas, chose a rather militant passage that calls on believers

"After what we have lived and seen, and the delicate situations we have witnessed, we may say that we cannot objectively and categorically attest to a fully democratic and clean vote in this great country," said Spanish Gustavo Palomares, the president of the Institute of Higher European Studies. He was one of the international guests accredited by the National Electoral Council (CNE) and invited by the opposition coalition. In this sense, international guests supported the petition of opposition candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski for a thorough and objective recount of "each tally sheet, each polling station, and each voters´ roll."

Latin America: Venezuela´s election on Sunday, which saw bus driver Nicolas Maduro declared the winner by a razor-thin margin, reeked of electoral fraud. Kudos to challenger Henrique Capriles for calling it out. Fraud is a strong word but, yes, it´s the clearest conclusion from Venezuela´s election Sunday to pick a successor to the late socialist dictator Hugo Chavez. Chavez´s hand-picked successor "won" Venezuela´s election Sunday, with what Chavez´s anything-but impartial CNE electoral body declaring he´d gotten 50.6% of the vote, while his challenger, Miranda state governor Henrique Capriles Radonski garnered 49.07% — a gap of just 235,000 votes.

icolas Maduro, political heir to the late Hugo Chavez, was declared the winner of Venezuela’s presidential election yesterday in a result that was immediately challenged by the opposition. The 50-year-old former bus driver received 50.7 percent of the votes, the national electoral council said after about 99 percent of ballots were counted. Henrique Capriles Radonski, who temporarily stepped down as governor of Miranda state to run, had 49.1 percent and vowed to contest the results. “We had a fair and constitutional victory,” Maduro said after the results were announced. “This is another victory, a homage to our comandante Hugo Chavez.”

CANCUN, Mexico - Six people were strangled to death and one decapitated in the southern Mexican tourist resort of Cancun on Sunday, the state´s deputy attorney general said, in the latest mass killing to strike the city in the last few weeks. Police found the bodies of the five men and two women in a shack in the outskirts of Cancun, a major tourist destination on Mexico´s Caribbean coast, that has largely escaped the drug-related violence that has racked Acapulco, a faded tourist destination on the Pacific coast.

It wasn’t just Margaret Thatcher’s steadfast economic and foreign policies that helped to defeat the Evil Empire and to bring down the Iron Curtain. She also changed hearts and minds — and this PJ Media author, who grew up on the other side of the Iron Curtain, has a personal story to tell. As many Soviet kids did in the 1970s and 1980s, I occasionally tuned my shortwave radio to Voice of America or the BBC Russian Service, hoping to hear their alternative take on world events and, if I was lucky, get the latest rock-music updates.

If you don’t know who Kermit Gosnell is, that’s because you read the New York Times and Politico.com, and you watch network news. Gosnell is a Philadelphia abortionist who’s currently on trial for murder. Multiple counts. The media hasn’t had much interest in him — including, yes, the Daily Caller — and more and more people are starting to wonder why. I’ve been trying to think of what to say about it, but it’s so horrific that I can barely wrap my head around it. Kirsten Powers, writing in USA Today, does a great job of

Federal law enforcement officials are actively investigating the possibility that the Boston bombers were known to the government’s terror-trackers, MailOnline understands. Any inquiry into the marathon bombing will look into whether agents could have taken action – but didn’t – to prevent the Tsarnaev brothers from obtaining the explosives that killed 3 and wounded 173 others. CBS News reported Friday evening that two years ago, the FBI interviewed the elder brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, who was killed in Thursday night´s dramatic shootout. The feds reportedly spoke to him at the request of an unspecified foreign government, but couldn´t

So once again, no good deed goes unpunished. Uncle Sam lets another bunch of leeching future terrorists into the country who have absolutely no business being here, gives them “asylum,” making them immediately eligible for welfare, and this is the thanks we get? They turn into mass murderers. We bring in thousands of Muslims from a primitive society that has been battling Christians for centuries, and put them into a peaceful Christian society — what could possible go wrong? This is what I was thinking about yesterday, with much of the city under what amounted to martial law.

Rubio explained that under his bill ilegal aliens who "have committed serious crimes" will be deported. However, the proposal will apparently not deem as a serious crime the habit

We are still speculating about virtually everything right now, but I feel as though I need to explain why I find the quick and easy conversation about Muslims being radicalized in America to be so illogical and laced with bigotry. Of course, there is a global violent jihadist movement, loosely organized, that wants to recruit young men to influence policies at home and abroad and perhaps usher in the global caliphate. That ideology motivates some Muslims to kill innocent people. But you´re allowed to be a radical Muslim in America.

In 1962, at the Carlyle Hotel in New York, a man “peeled off his clothing and began prancing around his hotel suite.” His bodyguards were cautiously amused, until the man “left the suite and began roaming through the corridor of the Carlyle.” The man in question was delusional, paranoid and suffering a “psychotic break” from the effects of an overdose of methamphetamine. He was also the president of the United States. The reason for John F. Kennedy’s bizarre behavior was that, according to an explosive new book, the president was — unbeknownst to him, at first — a meth addict.

The Council on American Islamic Relations again offered sympathy to victims of the Boston Marathon bombing on Friday, but added a plea for Americans not to generalize and conclude that Muslim teachings influenced the suspect in any way. "Our focus is primarily on the victims," said Ahmed Rehab, executive director of the Chicago chapter at a press conference Friday afternoon. "We don´t want to be drawn into defending ourselves." Citing acts of violence in Boston and New York, Rehab blamed Islamophobic forces for inciting hate crimes.

“In this age of instant reporting and tweets and blogs, there´s a temptation to latch on to any bit of information, sometimes to jump to conclusions,” said President Obama, in the late evening of April 19, after Dzokhar Tsarnaev was captured alive in Watertown, Mass. Washington — The governor of Massachusetts says he has no idea what motivated the terrorists who exploded two bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Speaking Sunday on CBS’ ”Face the Nation,” Deval (deh-VAL’) Patrick said it’s hard to imagine why someone would deliberately harm, quote “innocent men, women and children in the way that these two fellows did.” Patrick also said law enforcers believe the immediate threat ended when the police killed one of the alleged terrorists and captured the other. The two men were brothers whose family had come to the U.S.
