President Obama's team slams
critics of new unemployment
statistics as 'lunatics'

New York Daily News, by Tracy Connor

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 10/7/2012 1:22:11 PM

President Obama’s advisers attacked critics for suggesting the White House fudged jobs figures, comparing them to “lunatic” birthers. The sub-8% unemployment stats were released by the non-partisan Bureau of Labor Statistics Friday, but former GE chief Jack Welch and several Tea Party figures claimed the numbers were cooked. Obama campaign senior adviser Robert Gibbs called such comments “incredibly dangerous” and said Welch had embarrassed himself. “There's a number of people that believe the real unemployment report is somewhere in a safe in Nairobi with the president's Kenyan birth certificate," Gibbs said sarcastically on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.

Comments:
Question the sharpest employment gain in 29 years just ahead of election and get called a lunatic. Don't dare question the king!

I question the methodology. I also question the sudden embrace of the household survey. No one cared about the household survey in July when it showed a loss of 195,000 jobs or August when it showed a loss of 120,000 jobs. 7.8% is a load of bs. Only those who work in bs for a living can justify it.

Since 1960 only two times in history has UE dropped by 5 points in a two month span.

First was 1984 with Reagan (May & June) - rate went from 7.7 to 7.2. Total jobs created during 2 month span was 680k. GDP for recent quarter was 8%.

Only other time (in over 50 years) is right now with Obama (Aug & Sep) - rate went from 8.3 to 7.8 (30 days to go before election). Total jobs created during 2 month span was 250k. GDP for recent quarter is 1.25%.

But we are lunatics. Riiiiiight.

The food stamp program has doubled in size since 2008 and quadrupled since 2001. Spending on food stamps alone is projected to reach $770 billion over the next decade, according to the minority side of the Senate Budget Committee.

CARACAS - Venezuelan opposition leader Henrique Capriles expressed outrage on Monday at the description of his supporters as "heirs of Hitler" by election rival and acting President Nicolas Maduro. The buildup to the South American OPEC nation´s April 14 vote has been characterized by highly personalized attacks between both candidates hoping to replace the late Hugo Chavez. At the weekend, Maduro compared opposition complaints about Cuban doctors working in Venezuela with the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. "The heirs of Hitler are leading a campaign in Venezuela against the Cuban people," he said.

MOBILE, Ala. — The crippled cruise ship whose sewage-filled breakdown in the Gulf of Mexico subjected thousands to horrendous conditions tore loose Wednesday from the dock where it´s being repaired, lumbered downriver and crunched into a cargo ship. Wind gusts near hurricane strength shoved the 900-foot Carnival Triumph free from its mooring in downtown Mobile, Ala., where the ship was brought in a five-day ordeal that began when an engine fire stranded it off of Mexico in February. Hours later, four tug boats were using several mooring lines to secure the ship to a nearby pier.

Many people climbed onto their roofs in the pouring rain after storm sewers backed up. Water surged up through drains in their kitchen and bathroom floors, and then poured in over their windowsills.

Amid an accelerated rise in expenditure, increasing losses in state-run oil companies, and costly subsidies, Venezuela´s income is not enough for the Government, which currently faces a serious fiscal imbalance although the oil basket averages a record high of USD 103 per barrel. As a result, two devaluations have been implemented in the last five weeks so as to obtain more bolivars per petrodollars. However, it all seems that despite the significant adjustment in the foreign exchange rate, which will spur the cost of imports and therefore will hit the people, the fiscal crisis will continue.

Texas employment surged in February as employers added the most new jobs ever in a month. The Texas Workforce Commission on Friday reported 80,600 new jobs across the state. That more than made up for a slow start in January, when an upwardly revised 13,800 jobs were added. The job growth appears to be the highest monthly gain since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking such data in 1939. Texas’ unemployment rate, however, inched up to 6.4 percent, though it was still well below the U.S. rate of 7.7 percent for February. “The addition of over 80,000 jobs in a single month

It’s no secret that Egyptian slavery is as old as the pyramids. It’s also common knowledge that Barack Obama’s ancestors owned slaves. So it’s really no surprise that he helped usher in a radical Egpytian regime that is restoring slavery. According to the AP Egypt’s new constitution has dropped its ban on slavery: Omissions of certain articles, such as bans on slavery or promises to adhere to international rights treaties, were equally worrying to critics of the new draft, who pulled out from the panel before the vote. The Obama administration declined to criticize Egypt’s constitution despite its slavery clause.

Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
