Abdication of a superpower
Washington Examiner [DC], by Jed Babbin

The New York Times reports that the Obama administration has abandoned its limited goal of a negotiated settlement with the Taliban, leaving the Afghans to do it in the years after we leave. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi rebuffed President Obama's call for free speech in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, calling in his United Nations speech for repression of any speech that offends Islam. President Obama intervened militarily in Libya after his then-defense secretary, Bob Gates, said America had no national security stake in that nation. The result, in the words of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,

It's not simply an abdication, it's willful dismantling. There's a big difference. He's not just withdrawing, he's tearing down our very capacity to defend ourselves, much less project our power globally to protect our interests.

Where is Congress and why are they not alarmed at Obama's methodical, unilateral disarming of our country's military infrastructure?

#1 is absolutely right, his father's "dreams" have translated into action as Obama morphs America into something unrecognizable from our founding. He's trashed our economy, disregarded our Constitution, hamstrung small businesses with crippling regulations, thwarted any move to energy independence, and cut our military defenses, dissed our friends and emboldened our enemies.

How nearly half of American voters refuse to see this is beyond me. The United States has been a beacon and a refuge to the world and is being gutted by the Usurper in the WH. I just hope and pray we can recover from this internal attack.

Eviscerate the malignant tumor occupying the White House!

If I may add, without "Paux Americana", the world is dangerous. Not from those that contend power to power against us, but by those that see "collateral" damage as a means of defeating us.

Terrorism warriors have been emboldened; they burn their environment to keep any peace distant and their rule absolute.

And this administration seeks no compromise to aid the foreign powers confronting them, Mexico against the drug cartels for instance, or engage these pirates and barbarians on a level to destroy them, Somalian pirates, Taliban, Muslim Brotherhood, etc.; only drone missile attacks on the leadership as a non-committal exercise of power through technology and not confronting the causes of this hate.

This pResident dishonors "Paux Americana" by withdrawal and thus devaluing the very security he was entrusted to maintain.

Is it November 6th yet?

This is America. In a few short centuries we have dragged ourselves up from a nation of hunters and dirt farmers and created the greatest country in the world. No skinny, delusional kenyan illegal immigrant can bring this down. It will take work and sacrifice to regain our place in the world but then most of us know all about that. The entitled class may die out but that would be a good thing.

I agree that Obama made himself known to all when he sided with Castro, Chavez and the Honduran wanna-be dictator ... the man who attempted to destroy that nation's constitution.
.... The Honduran Congress tossed Zelaya out, but OUR appeasing Congress has acted as if they are all deaf, dumb and blind to the anti-America president in our Oval Office.

To those who say, and my own congressman is one, that there is nothing we can do as he makes law I say for what do we have a Constitution and rule of law. If it was this easy to trash our amazing nation it would have been done at the beginning. However, at that time we had men and women who were willing to give their sacred honor, fortunes, and lives. Now we have a Congress who is afraid of a communistic press and of losing the nests they have so well feathered. I say a pox on all their houses. We the People are rising up and "they" will be required to take a stand...are you with us or agin us!

I'm old enough to remember the turmoil during carter's rein. The world laughed at US. Our ally the Shah of Iran was left to shift for himself. carter wouldn't help him with asylum here in the good ole U. S. of A. He threw him to the wolves. carter gave away the Panama Canal -- which is now controlled by China. He watched our hostages suffer at the hands of the ayotolah (sp?) -- who cares.

AND -- then during clinton's rein the world laughed at the hound/dog chasing women and sending men to war with the "bj" under his desk in the Oval Office.

WE thought America was done for -- BUT -- WE came back under President George W. Bush's administration...

So -- take heart my friends. WE shall overcome these anti/american americans.....

This is traced back to the Russians, Chinese and Iranians. Look closely at who is directly around capt zippy, controlling him, and who they connect to. And follow the money. Uncertain? Think back on what the Verona files revealed about Teddy Kennedy and his offer during the Reagan era - and there was a lot more of that than just Kennedy and he did it more than the one time...

There is a method to Leftist madness. They think that by humbling America they will win friends and influence people to love America. The remarkable split in Leftist ideology is between malignant hate and loathing of domestic political opponents, and a pathetic cri du coeur to the love and affection of foreign peoples, including dedicated enemies of America. Leftists worry constantly about what "the rest of the world" thinks and feels about America. People like Obama and Hillary, having come to maturity in a climate of subtle and overt anti-Americanism, principally in academia, actually think that their mission is to make "the rest of the world" like us, and that the way to do that is to diminish and flagellate ourselves. They are political co-dependents and flagellants forever seeking their salvation in the good opinions of "the rest of the world."

In short, they want America to be loved and not feared. The consequences of their policy were perfectly predictable: America is neither feared nor loved, but hated and despised.

They -the Leftists- cannot even get along and work with their domestic political opponents. Why they should imagine they are going to become best friends with foreigners and those whose interests are not those of America is something of a puzzle. It is perhaps mainly the result of arrested development, emotional immaturity and lack of real world experience. Marijuana might play a role in some cases. Leftist fantasy ideology is a product of Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll and If It Feels Good, Do it! There is a strong element of hedonism at work in Leftist thinking. Many Leftists believe and say things, take positions and proclaim verities, attack and denounce opponents etc. because it makes them feel good to do so.

This "transformation" is exactly what the boy king had in mind. What you see in Obama's attitude/demeanor right now is frustration. He definitely has a goal and he wants to reach it. I doubt he will go quietly into the good night. We need to man up and shuffle him off to the trash bin of history. Our way of life must be continued or the world will fall into chaos.

Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the bi-partisan core of American foreign policy was anti-Soviet expansion, i.e. containment. When the Wall came down and the Russian flag raised over the Kremlin, the US lost that core. The US has never sorted out any foreign policy in the meantime...not Clinton, Bush43, nor Obama. To top it off, for more than a decade we have consumed ourselves in the Middle East for no more than some odd notion that it makes us safer at home. Our NATO allies have atrophied in our shadow, allowing the American behemoth to assume the very expensive role of World Defender in both political and cash terms. Guess what? We can't afford the role anymore...nor do we have any purpose with the "new world order" to serve as its unifying core justifying the massive expense. We're afraid to break things and kill people over principle. Not everyone wants to be #1 anymore. Frankly, there is NOTHING today that unites Americans as Americans...or, if you think there is, name it.

One of the great failures under Baraka Hussein Obama was the complete withdrawal from Iraq. The idea always was to leave a small force there to be able to call on American air power when the region needed. UE complete withdrawal left an Iraq with no air defenses. Iran can supply Syria with no opposition and can use Iraq to circumvent sanctions. Thanks to Hussein Obama the lives of thousands of soldiers were wasted.

He is doing the same thing in Afghanistan. We are no longer training the locals. No more joint patrols, just American patrols with ridiculous rules of engagement. When Obama retreats by the 2014 deadline we will leave untrained Afghans with no support. It will be another Iraq.

Egypt is much worse. Hussein helped the Muslim Brotherhood directly with his Cairo speech to his Muslim brothers. Hillary Clinton's closest advisor is Huma Abedin. Huma is the daughter of a Muslim Sisterhood board member, while the top person is Mohammed Morsi's wife, First Lady of Egypt. They will impose Sharia on 9,000,000 Coptic Christians.

In Libya Obama killed Ghaddafi. Benghazi, which was the capital of the old kingdom of Cyrenaica, was known to be a nest of al-quaedas.

How the entire Middle East and the North of Africa proudly proclaims: Obama, we are all Osama.

Amazing.

The Supreme Court could soon end one of the federal government´s most archaic practices. Since the 1930s, the Agriculture Department has turned California raisin growers into pawns of its Raisin Administrative Committee, which can commandeer up to half of the farmer´s crop and then pay them little or nothing for the product. Washington have? In today´s Army, a one-star general is a brigadier; two stars is a major general; three stars is a lieutenant general; four stars is just plain general. During World War II, Congress created the five-star general, the modern rank of general of the Army. There had been an earlier grade that was called general of the Army,

They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

"As I look at all these young women that I am privileged to work with, or know through Chelsea, and its hard to imagine turning the clock on them," Clinton said.

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
