| Vice President Biden, a man with nearly four decades of experience in politics, has not been taking lightly his preparations for his debate against Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), holding practice sessions and perusing briefing books in recent months. Now, in the wake of President Obama’s widely panned performance last week in his first debate against Mitt Romney, the stakes for Biden are suddenly higher than ever. In the Oct. 11 vice-presidential debate he must not only avoid making any gaffes but also try to puncture his Republican opponent’s arguments on taxes, entitlement reform and deficit reduction,

Comments: Biden will do just fine if he can keep a lid on his tendency to patronize. I will never forget his offensive Senate lecturing of Condi Rice.

I hope Biden restates his position from the 2008 primaries, that Obama is not qualified to be president. (Hey, wouldn't that make Obama's pick of VP an unqualified choice?)

Biden, with his gigantic pulsating cranium and incisive genius, will cut Ryan to shreds and crush him like a bug. On this fateful night, Biden will set the base for his run for the presidency in 2016.
Biden is truly a man for all seasons.

FTA: 'In the Oct. 11 vice-presidential debate he must not only avoid making any gaffes but also try to puncture his Republican opponent’s arguments on taxes, entitlement reform and deficit reduction, something Obama was criticized for failing to do last week.' They're really hoping 'gaffe-a-day' Joe will avoid making any gaffes? And 'puncture' Paul Ryan on tax & deficit reduction? Would you care to take a bet on that, Felicia?
In all fairness, being the WaCompost and all, I know they truly believe Ol'Joe will come through and save his boss.

Be prepared to hear countless rehashes of Osama is dead, GM is alive from Joe. In between will be tales of how women were denied birth control and even medical treatment before Obama. And how women were denied equal pay, career advancement and respect before BO. And how blacks were in chains before BO's inauguration and how BO & Joe refuse to let Ryan put those chains back on Obama's people. Late Friday, the FBI posted this statement on its 2011 interview of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the suspected Boston bomber who was killed in a police shootout. According to an official familiar with the issue, the Russian government had reached out to U.S. counterterrorism officials in 2011 and expressed concern that Tsarnaev might be planning to travel to their country to engage in possible terrorist activities. Travel records show that Tamerlan traveled to Russia in January 2012, and returned six months later.2011 Request for Information on Tamerlan Tsarnaev from Foreign Government

He could run, but he couldn´t hide. Massachusetts state police today released infrared images they used to spot Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as he hid under a boat cover during yesterday´s massive manhunt in Watertown. The cameras used by the Air Wing allowed cops to keep their eyes on Tsarnaev at all times as they closed in on the 19-year-old, accused in the deadly bomb attack in Boston that killed three and wounded more than 180 others just days earlier. Tsarnaev, 19, was reported to be in no condition to be interrogated the morning after he was pulled,

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The owner of an auto body shop near the home of the Boston bombing suspects said the younger brother appeared in his store on Tuesday, nervous and demanding his car immediately. Two weeks ago, said 44-year-old Gilberto Junior, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had brought in a white Mercedes 1967 station wagon to have the damaged rear bumper repaired. He said it belonged to his girlfriend. That was not unusual: Tsarnaev often brought in cars for wealthy friends from Boston University and MIT, Junior said, and always paid in cash.

The father of a suspected Boston Marathon bomber started to cry when ABC News told him that his son had been captured alive. "Thank God," Anzor Tsarnaev said, speaking in Russian, thanking ABC News for relaying word that his son, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was in custody and alive. Asked what he wanted to tell his son, Anzor Tsarnaev said, "Tell police everything. Everything. Just be honest." Tsarnaev spoke to ABC News on more than one occasion today from his home in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, Russia, as Boston police carried out an intense dragnet for his son.

So once again, no good deed goes unpunished. Uncle Sam lets another bunch of leeching future terrorists into the country who have absolutely no business being here, gives them “asylum,” making them immediately eligible for welfare, and this is the thanks we get? They turn into mass murderers. We bring in thousands of Muslims from a primitive society that has been battling Christians for centuries, and put them into a peaceful Christian society — what could possible go wrong? This is what I was thinking about yesterday, with much of the city under what amounted to martial law.

At least 11 emergency responders are presumed dead after the massive explosion and blaze at the West Fertilizer Co. facility near Waco. Sen. Although information is still too sketchy to draw any comprehensive conclusions (other than that the Boston killings are not, as recently suggested, fall out from sequestration, the NRA, lack of gun control, climate change, right-wing tea-party zealots, etc.), there emerges a familiar profile to the suspects that we have seen before. In articles in 2002 and 2007, I touched on the dangers of isolated Islamic-driven terrorists without direct connections to organized terrorist networks, calling it a sort of “al-Qaedism.” In other word, single and usually young American resident males, often originating from the Muslim world

When vocal teacher Bill Schuman works with an aspiring opera singer, he invokes the past, present and future with equal importance. He looks to the past for examples: "Study the great tenors," he advises one student, just before issuing a command for the present. "Pick up your palate! Don´t be lazy!" He also has a way of foreseeing what´s to come: "You will be Tosca," he promises a young soprano. Since 1989, Mr. Schuman, age 54, has been a voice instructor at Philadelphia´s Academy of Vocal Arts, a four-year conservatory program devoted to training young opera singers.

When David Sirota hoped the person or people responsible for bombing the Boston Marathon would be a “white American”, I asked, “Can’t a terrorist be both white & Muslim?” Yes, Mr. Sirota, there are white, Muslim terrorists. Granted, I was thinking more along the lines of a convert to Islam like John Walker Lindh. Nevertheless, Chechens are both Caucasian and Muslim. While it’s certainly possible for non-Muslims to commit terrorism, we do ourselves a disservice by being afraid to cause offense and refuse to consider the possibility that Muslims are responsible for these acts of evil. Things are looking up for Republicans. President Obama’s agenda is collapsing before our eyes. Obama is pointing to the 2014 midterm elections to capture the House and revive his presidency. “My job is not simply to occupy the Oval Office,” he said at a San Francisco fundraiser. “My job is to make sure we move the country forward, and I think we can best do that if Nancy Pelosi is speaker of the House once again.” Obama said Pelosi is “thought ful” and “visionary” and “never lets ideology cloud her judgment.”

The Tsarnaev brothers were ethnic Chechens whose family fled the breakaway republic in the remote Caucasus mountains where insurgents fought two bloody wars with Russia at the cost of more than 100,000 lives. Even after the worst of the fighting was over, Chechnya became a training ground for terrorists who have carried out attacks that have killed hundreds of civilians. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the FBI’s “Suspect Number 2” in Monday’s bombing, followed two Internet sites that advocated independence for Chechnya, whose heavily Muslim population of more than 1 million suffered badly during Soviet rule.

Federal law enforcement officials are actively investigating the possibility that the Boston bombers were known to the government’s terror-trackers, MailOnline understands. Any inquiry into the marathon bombing will look into whether agents could have taken action – but didn’t – to prevent the Tsarnaev brothers from obtaining the explosives that killed 3 and wounded 173 others. CBS News reported Friday evening that two years ago, the FBI interviewed the elder brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, who was killed in Thursday night´s dramatic shootout. The feds reportedly spoke to him at the request of an unspecified foreign government, but couldn´t

We are still speculating about virtually everything right now, but I feel as though I need to explain why I find the quick and easy conversation about Muslims being radicalized in America to be so illogical and laced with bigotry. Of course, there is a global violent jihadist movement, loosely organized, that wants to recruit young men to influence policies at home and abroad and perhaps usher in the global caliphate. That ideology motivates some Muslims to kill innocent people. But you´re allowed to be a radical Muslim in America.
