| Thousands of President Obama supporters turned out in in Madison, Wisc., for a rally following Wednesday night’s debate in Denver. The mood was somber, to say the least, as they waited to enter Bascom Mall at the University of Wisconsin Thursday afternoon. University of Wisconsin students and fellow Wisconsinites had mixed reviews on the president's performance. I talked to supporters of the president who had watched the debate, asking how they thought the president did. One after the other said they were left unimpressed and “not inspired,” seemingly depressed and lethargic in their continuing support of the president.

Now that I think of it, the little twit does have a point. Mitt Romney was allowed to use all the tools he normally does, (intelligence, knowledge gained from decades of experience, hard work and preparation, a sense of purpose greater than himself, etc.) but Obama wasn't allowed to use any of his.
There was no cheering crowd of fainters and community college kids, no teleprompter scrolling lines written by someone else, no amen-shouting after every sentence, and no laughter every time he grinned at his own jokes.

A haunting image emerged today showing one of the suspected Boston bombers lurking right behind eight-year-old Martin Richard moments before planting the explosive that killed him. While the media are bearing the brunt of public skepticism over the handling of the Boston bombing, the behavior of government is also eroding public trust. Yesterday´s promised but cancelled news briefing is just one symptom.
