CEO vs Chair Man
National Review Online, by Mark Steyn

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 10/6/2012 11:04:21 AM

A month ago, Clint Eastwood’s Obama empty-chair shtick was universally agreed by liberals to have been a disaster for Romney. Now, it’s on the cover of The New Yorker. The artist, Barry Blitt, says it wasn’t the easiest of assignments: “This image seemed like a proper response to the first Presidential debate,” Blitt told the New Yorker’s Culture Desk. “But I’m not sure I realized how hard it is to caricature furniture.” That’s what hiring John Kerry as debate-coach gets you. When they put the Empty Chair on Mount Rushmore, I hope they append that quote underneath.

I won't give it away but everyone should definitely follow the link to the New Yorker cover and scroll down to the second picture. I laughed so hard I got choked.

last night Greta had a segment wherein they interviewed students at Univ. of WI/Madison. They were asked if the Leader might have done better with a teleprompter and if it was unfair of the debate committee to ban the prompter. Nearly 100% agreed that it was ''unfair''. I was gobsmacked. These are COLLEGE STUDENTS and nearly all of them are dumb as a stump. Teleprompters at a debate?? Unfair?? OMG. And they're all likely registered to vote dem...

Unskewedmedia.com reports:

'The latest jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) was released today, the last one to be released before the November election, shows a sudden increase in employment by 873,000 jobs that decreases unemployment to 7.8 percent. Of those 873,000 jobs that materialized this month, 582,000 of them are part-time jobs. The astounding numbers were met with instant criticism from many quarters and many sides of the political debate. The same report says 114,000 jobs were added to the economy last month. Economists say the economy needs to create 150,000 jobs each month for the unemployment rate to remain constant.'

We smell a rat....in the Department of Labor.

Is Eastwood a prophet, or just lucky?

His convention "presentation" had more substance than most of us thought. "Crazy like a fox" comes to mind.

#5 I saw the same segment and was shocked by their "uneducated" responses. I think Greta was embarrassed that her Alma mater's students were so ignorant. I was stunned that college students would have such a lack of understanding of the purpose of the debates.

So many shocking issues and incidents have occurred in this election that it is jaw-dropping:

1. Univ. of Wisconsin students think it is unfair that Obama couldn't use his teleprompter in the debate.
2. Elizabeth Warren, running for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, claimed to be part Indian and became a Harvard law professor. She can't prove her ancestry but it greased the skids for her becoming a Harvard law professor. She doesn't have a Massachusetts law license as well as not being able to produce documented evidence she is part Indian.
3. The presidential tracking polls are skewed with a higher percentage of Democrats than Republicans and Independents queried.
4. Now the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) says that the unemployment is at 7.8% which defies logic and it is revealed by the Washington Free Beacon that At least two economists* at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) have contributed to President Barack Obama’s campaign.

*bold is my emphasis. Thank goodness for the alternative media - much of this wouldn't have come to light.

Promise of shale gas throws
‘unexpected wrench’ into
Germany’s green energy plans
Washington Post, by Michael Birnbaum    Original Article

WAGENFELD, Germany — Germany has one of the most robust green movements in the world, but economic pressures are tempting it to try something critics say would harm the Earth: shale gas drilling. Motivated by a rapid-fire increase in natural gas production in the United States, German business leaders and some politicians say they need to act quickly to prevent the country’s industrial core from departing for places where energy is just a fraction of the price. They worry that the country’s ambitious environmental goals are far less meaningful if the economy withers in achieving them.

White House downplays Kerry’s

The Obama administration on Wednesday sought to downplay remarks by Secretary of State John F. Kerry, who had asserted early in the day that Tamerlan Tsarnaev — the older of the two brothers believed to have carried out the Boston Marathon bombings — must have drawn inspiration for the attack during a trip he made to Chechnya. White House spokesman Jay Carney said comments made by Mr. Kerry don’t reflect any new information gleaned by authorities probing for meaning in the Checnhya trip made last year by Mr. Tsarnaev, who was killed by police near Boston on Friday.

House Republicans have concluded that the Pentagon and U.S. intelligence agencies bear no blame for failing to halt the terrorist assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year, releasing a report Tuesday that said President Obama and the State Department set up the military for failure. The report also found that plenty of intelligence presaged the attack, but the White House and State Department — including the secretary at the time, Hillary Rodham Clinton — failed to heed the warnings. In the most damning conclusion, House Republicans said Mr. Obama’s team lied

The Obama administration expressed caution Tuesday about new claims by Israel that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against rebels. U.S. officials said they are still evaluating whether the Syrian regime has employed chemical weapons, a step that President Obama has said could trigger direct U.S. involvement in a civil war that has killed more than 70,000 people. “We support an investigation. We are monitoring this,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said. “We have not come to the conclusion that there has been that use. But it is something that is of great concern to us

On Tuesday, the Associated Press reported that in the years leading up to the devastating bombing attack on the Boston Marathon, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the older of the two bombing suspects, “fell under the influence of a new friend, a Muslim convert.” The mentor was known to Tamerlan’s family as “Misha,” and pushed Tamerlan to embrace the most extreme version of Islam. Tamerlan quickly dropped music, read information about 9/11 conspiracy theories, and bought into the notion that the Jews controlled world events, seeking out the anti-Semitic canard The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

George W. Bush will return to the spotlight this week for the dedication of his presidential library, an event likely to trigger fresh public debate about his eight fateful years in office. But he reemerges with a better public image than when he left Washington more than four years ago. Since then, Bush has absented himself from both policy disputes and political battles. A new Washington Post-ABC News poll suggests that the passage of time and Bush’s relative invisibility have been beneficial to a chief executive who left office surrounded by controversy.

Kinder Morgan quietly

As President Obama weighs the fate of the Keystone pipeline, a similar project connecting Canada’s oil sands to the West Coast is quietly moving forward, little noticed in the United States. A 60-year-old pipeline already pumps oil from northern Alberta to Vancouver’s busy harbor for shipment to Asia or California. Now the owner, Kinder Morgan Canada, wants to nearly triple the Trans Mountain Pipeline’s capacity, making it even bigger than Keystone. And unlike Keystone, Trans Mountain’s proposed $5.4 billion expansion doesn’t need the approval of the U.S. government

Despite President Obama’s best efforts to focus the country on top domestic priorities, the Boston bombings have thrust the war on terrorism back to the top of his agenda, and the renewed focus on protecting the homeland will test his national security team and their reliance on the criminal justice system in handling terrorism suspects. In Obama´s Audacity of Hope, he stated, "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in any ugly direction." The older of the two brothers who committed the Boston Marathon bombings was likely the one who planned the attack, but when he died in a shootout with police just days after the blasts, his thoughts and motivations vanished with him. But the brain that was home to his angry mind remains, and in this case that may mean something. Tsarnaev was an amateur boxer who won the New England Golden Gloves competition as recently as 2009 and 2010. That speaks to a young man with a healthy sense
