| The first post-presidential debate poll in critical Ohio shows that Mitt Romney blunted President Obama's momentum with his winning performance and is now leading the president among Ohioans who say that they are "certain" to vote. Overall, the race is deadlocked with Obama over Romney 50 percent to 49 percent, according a new Rasmussen Reports poll taken Thursday night. But among the stunning 92 percent of likely voters in the state who say that they are certain to go to the polls on Election Day, Romney leads 51 percent to 48 percent.

These polls will probably be all over the place this month. But it is some measure of comfort to see Romney gained ground, and that many Obama voters are willing to change their minds.

I would think that if Romney continues to pummel 0bama in the debates that no matter what trickery 0bama pulls he won't win. It's because fewer and fewer people are willing to believe their own government but they know what they see happening before their own eyes.

Sitting here in Ohio, I loved the debate and now the bounce.
That said, I hope Mitt doesn't think he has this thing in the bag.
Prior to the debate, my wife and I had been keeping an unofficial count of campaign ads run here in OH. Every night, Obama ads outpaced Romney ads 3-4 to 1.
If Ohio is such an important state for Republicans (no R-president has ever won without winning Ohio), how in the world can Mitt be outpaced on tv ads?
I kept hearing about how he had amassed a huge $$$ advantage over Obama and once the convention ended he would flood the airwaves with spending.
I am perplexed.
I loved the debate and the bounce, but am concerned about the next 30 days in Ohio.
Same goes for Mandel verus Sherrod Brown.
What's up?!

WASHINGTON — The Navy is going to sea for the first time with a laser attack weapon that has been shown in tests to disable patrol boats and blind or destroy surveillance drones. The top Republican in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, is asking the feds to investigate whether a closed campaign meeting was illegally wiretapped by his political opponents. The issue arises after the liberal outlet Mother Jones published "A recording of a private meeting between the Senate GOP leader and campaign aides." In a statement to the press, McConnell´s campaign manager, Jesse Benton, says the feds are getting involved. "Senator McConnell’s campaign is working with the FBI and has notified the local U.S. Attorney in Louisville, per FBI request, about these recordings," says Benton.

I operate by some principals I call cowboy logic. To give you a smattering of the philosophy of cowboy logic in a thumbnail sketch, I usually list these three examples: 1) 2 + 2 is always 4 2) Water never runs uphill 3) If there´s smoke, there´s a fire somewhere. (snip) No matter how much the sycophants in the media and the partial pundits tell us that the debt doesn´t matter and that the economy is making a recovery, 2 + 2 is still 4, and the numbers just don´t add up.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is actively shopping for a drone that would "stalk hunters," the organization said Monday.
