Santelli Smells A Rat:
'I Told You They'd Get It
Under 8%—They Did!'

Newsbusters, by Mark Finkelstein

Rick Santelli, the man who helped launch the Tea Party with his impassioned comments from the trading floor in 2009, sees the hand of politics at work in today's announcement that the unemployment rate has dipped below 8%. Speaking on CNBC's Squawk Box this morning just minutes after the number was announced, Santelli said: "I told you they'd get it under 8%--they did!" View the video after the jump. The Obama campaign is sure to jump on the news today--but Santelli has put a big question mark over the validity of the data.

NFP +114000 and Unenployment down .3%. Math doesn't add up. Hugh seasonal adjustment by the labor department which clearly is totally in the tank for Obama. Your hard earned tax dollars at work. Smakes of extreme bias but I don't think anyone is surprized. Bad debate, just rig the nimbers.

Everyone already knows how bogus these monthly numbers are. Today's announcement had numerous upward adjustments of previous months. I haven't seen any mention of how many left the workforce in September. Also, a large percentage of these jobs are part-time seasonal jobs.

If Romney wins the election, the month of November will show 10.1% unemployment. Then 12.3%, then 14.1%..

"Independent contractors" are now defined as people who mow their own lawns or shovel their own snow in the winter. People fixing their house up to sell it - because they lost their job - now count as employed because they are "working" around the house. The Labor secretary should be taken out in handcuffs this morning!

You see, I might have inadvertantly helped Obama get re-elected by lowering the unemployment rate.
Last month, I hired local kids on 2 separate occasions to dog sit for the weekend while we were away. And another kid in the neighborhood came and mowed my lawn.
Those 3 jobs are probably in the 114,000 new employment figures being reported. I don't know how the Labor Dept got wind of these jobs--I paid cash--but I can only assume they found out and added them to their count.

If Betsey McCaughey is correct (and I bet she is, because she has not only read the entire ObamaCare bill, she has written a book about it), Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan publicly humiliated herself during the oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, revealing that she either did not read the law, or failed to comprehend it if she did so. Writing in the New York Sun, McCaughey lays out what is wrong with the Justice’s declaration about Obamacare: she asserted that the statute itself mandates provision of birth control. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products.

More than half of the 2.6 million Americans dispatched to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan struggle with physical or mental health problems stemming from their service, feel disconnected from civilian life and believe the government is failing to meet the needs of this generation’s veterans, according to a poll conducted by The Washington Post and the Kaiser Family Foundation. The long conflicts, which have required many troops to deploy multiple times and operate under an almost constant threat of attack, have exacted a far more widespread emotional toll than previously recognized by most government studies and independent assessments:

Military officials said they are investigating the conduct of a U.S. Marine who was on assignment for President Obama’s trip to the Netherlands last week, after witnesses said he was talking in detail about his job and passing around his government security badge during a night of drinking at a bar. The Marine, Korey Nathan Pritchett, was first identified by a Dutch newspaper based on witness accounts and smartphone photos taken during the partying, which happened two nights before Obama arrived at The Hague for a nuclear security summit. What did that mean, I asked, surprised. Were they for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights? For gay marriage? Were they actually gay? He couldn’t really define it, though the conversation meandered in that direction for a few more minutes, also touching on the subject of the former president’s alleged marital infidelity,
