Death Panel Rattle

| Until two nights ago, most voters were largely unaware of the unelected 15 member Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) created as part of Obamacare. Mitt Romney can further capitalize on his adroit performance in Wednesday's debate by focusing public attention on the power and influence of IPAB in the coming weeks. When he was asked why he wanted to repeal the federal health care law, formally titled the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), Romney quite correctly touched on rising insurance costs, and Medicare cuts, but it was his third response to moderator Jim Lehrer that really stood out.

As many articles about the NHS as have been posted here, including morsels such as the Liverpool (Death) Pathway and who gets to have a new hip or a cataract procedure and how many months or years they'll have to wait, and as often as we've said that the proponents of Obamacare are enamored of the NHS, you would think. . . .
Well, no, I guess you wouldn't.

OUR SARAH WAS RIGHT.
Obummer lied.
Millions of TEA Party types already knew this. Plus if you had any connection to the medical field you already knew that thousands of doctors are planning to either retire or are no longer accepting medicare patients.
Its worse than even this article states.

The first two commenters beat me to it, but too much credit cannot be given to Sarah Palin. The left did everything in their power to burn her at the stake and throw her children on the pyre with her, but she stood firm and kept fighting.
A fundamental truth that the left doesn't get and which may be one of Romney's greatest assets in the upcoming election is that us "seasoned citizens" didn't all get here by falling off the back of a turnip truck.

FTA: "In order to repeal the IPAB, Congress must enact a Joint Resolution, but it is prohibited from introducing such a resolution until 2017, and must act no later than Feb. 1 2017. The resolution must be in place no later than Aug. 15, 2017. In the event that a resolution is introduced, PPACA calls for a super-majority vote, meaning 3/5 of all elected members of Congress must support the resolution. Even if a resolution is passed, the Board would not disband until 2020"
Funny, I've never heard that they made this IPAB pretty much impossible to repeal. We MUST repeal the entire Obamacare if we even want to recognize America in 5 years. Thanks a bunch, Chief Justice Roberts - I can't tell you how angry I am.

I see a future that condemns the not-quite-old to years of extreme pain and wheelchair dependency before the death panels put them out of their misery.

Reading a book now about the rise of the Third Reich - and how the mass executions began in the 30s. It was initially a program for the mentally unstable and deformed and it began with the starving to death of over 5000 children. I don't know how many of you have been in the Dr.'s office recently, but they all have new computer systems that are driving them mad and slowing down care all for "Our Benefit". Insurance companies will not approve anything without "prior authorization". This step means the dr. must submit a written report, along with filling out a form proving why this procedure or medication is neccessary, which if the Dr. does not specify "expedite" could take 2-3 weeks before you are granted approval by the insurance company. It's happening already folks and only phase one of this obamanation is in play. I plan to vote as if my life depended on it.

#16, you are right.
In our "civilized," "enlightened" era, what is now increasingly considered acceptable by the literati is the "whole life" scheme, which means that the very young and the elderly are expendable. Only those who can work and carry their weight merit health care dollars.
Here's what really ticks me off (aside from the whole IPAB and eugenics/euthansia mind-set):
WHY HAVE REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMEN (other than those few vocal Conservatives, Sarah and Michele Bachmann chief among them) NOT INFORMED THE PUBLIC???
2010 results would have been even greater. We knew, but there are millions of people who can't be bothered or really don't have time to do the work of getting informed.
Every senior citizen ought to know. Anyone with a chronic illness ought to know. Anyone with an elderly parent, or loved one reaching into their golden years, or handicapped, physically or mentally, ought to know.
This must be stopped NOW, no matter what the law or how it's worded, on moral, ethical grounds. Because as #16 notes, eugenicists always begin with humane-sounding motivations. The German people actually resisted the appeals to "alleviate" the suffering of the mentally ill and handicapped by means of being "put away" --at first.
Do you know what the eugenicists used next to persuade the people to their view? COST. Remember, the Depression was still ongoing.
This is also why the authorities must eradicate Christianity, which teaches the innate value of every human being, created in the image of God. This is why the BO regime is attacking the Catholic Church, the most organized denomination, and the most ardent defender of Life.

The impending policies of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will affect individual farmers and their employees. There are an estimated 600,000 crop workers and roughly 20,000 livestock workers in California at a given time. For every job in farming, the industry creates two to three nonfarming jobs. It´s an industry that should thrive in California, where the climate is kind.(Snip)"There´s nothing affordable about the Affordable Care Act," Tom Nassif said to us; he´s president and CEO of Western Growers, an advocacy group representing area and regional family farmers in Arizona and California.

A country that stakes its future on lies will not have one. The fashionable lie of the moment is “gay marriage.” The push to deprive children of mothers and fathers for the sake of “genderless” marriage has never been stronger. The media propaganda about its “inevitability” is unremitting. One would think, judging by all the triumphant rhetoric heard this week, that over 30 states had approved it. In fact, over 30 states have banned it. According to the Washington Post, which just a few weeks ago was categorizing Christians as racists, the issue is all settled and done.

It was bad enough for the Obama administration to earn an overall grade of C-minus on its level of transparency from the independent watchdog group Cause of Action. When coupled with evidence of what is being hidden, the information makes the administration look even worse. Cause of Action uses requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), lawsuits, and other tools to expose what it calls “job-killing federal government regulations, waste, fraud, and cronyism.” As has been reported by Caroline May at the Daily Caller and others, the organization last week issued a report called “Grading the Government,”

Instead of the GOP, watch the Rubio-Paul Party. Forget John Boehner. Ignore Karl Rove. The weasels who wrote the Obama health law postponed the pain until after the 2012 presidential election. Popular provisions were put into effect immediately, such as allowing children to stay on their parent’s plan until age 26, offering “free” colonoscopies and mammograms (in truth, forcing you to pay for them in your premium, whether you get them or not), and giving women the thrill of getting contraceptives at the drugstore without paying anything. This may sound odd coming from someone who has spent his life working in political reporting, but I find it extremely sad when people can’t separate politics from the rest of their lives. I’m not talking about people getting worked up about politicians; we live in divided times, so things are bound to get heated when talking about elected officials. I’m talking about people who say “I want nothing to do with [Person X] because he is a conservative/liberal/Republican/Democrat in his personal life.” This is why I find the Orson Scott Card thing so frustrating.

Last week, President Obama told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that “we don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt.” It was par for the course (after all, he is almost always golfing) for the nation’s chief executive who just last year did not know the amount of our nation’s debt and made the preposterously naive statement that “a lot of it we owe to ourselves.” Apparently, our coming debt crisis is the only one Democrats do want to go to waste.

If President Obama’s rhetoric on domestic policy can be said to have a coherent theme, it involves his desire to use government to create a level playing field in which no single segment of the electorate enjoys unfair advantages or suffers disproportionate disadvantages in the pursuit of happiness. He is particularly concerned, he tells us, that the “rich” pay their fair share while poor and minority Americans receive their just due. Somehow, though, every policy decision made by his administration seems to tilt the playing field against the latter.

Staffers for Sen. Dean Heller have been bullying other senators’ aides to protect the Nevada Republican’s space in the Russell Senate Office Building, CQ Roll Call has learned. As part of the biennial Senate office lottery, junior members are obligated to show their office suites to more senior members, who then have 24 hours to decide whether to claim that space as their own. Heller’s office suite — which he inherited after the scandal-fueled resignation of Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev. — may be particularly attractive to other senators because its floor plan includes a larger-than-average member office.

More than six months since Ambassador Christopher Stevens was assassinated by terrorists in Benghazi, the Obama administration is still trying to keep a lid on information about the attack. Congress and the American people need to know what happened the night of Sept. 11, 2012. Who did the killing and what was their motive? Why wasn´t help sent? And why did the administration lie about who was responsible? Members of Congress have asked hundreds of questions at hearings conducted by several investigative committees, but many of the most significant have been left unanswered. Information detailing what happened before, during and Headline corrected.
