Get Ready for Chicago Rules
Wall Street Journal, by Kimberley A. Strassel

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 10/5/2012 6:00:56 AM

The most interesting place to have been in America on Thursday morning? Obama campaign headquarters. No need to guess what the post-debate conversation was in Boston: jubilation over Mitt Romney's wildly impressive Denver performance, and a strategy session on how to keep the momentum. But in Chicago? Amid the gloom, amid the shock, one pained question surely drove the discussion: "What now?" Because Chicago understands that the immediate critique of Barack Obama's debate performance understates the damage the president did to his campaign. Yes, he was detached. Yes, he was unprepared.

Spot on article. I hope Kim's conclusion is the correct one.
Axelrod is the smarmiest creep in a political world full of smarmy creeps. As Dennis Miller might say, his real job is as the lighting double for Snidely Whiplash.

This will be the dirtiest 4 weeks in campaign history. And it will also be the most corrupt election. Their last ace in the hole will be voter fraud.

FTA: By pummeling the president on the facts and the policy, Mr. Romney looked in control.

Correction: Romney was in control. The facts can do that

Obama campaign headquarters Thursday morning might have been interesting but Barack and Michelle's quarters Wednesday night might have been pretty interesting as well!

The Obama campaign believed its own hype, its own mantra, its own false narrative.

I do not think they have enough time to counter anything in a meaningful manner now; and I am extremely impressed with how disciplined and focused Team Romney is. Paul Ryan will mop the floors with Chia Pet Biden, and Romney will have to stay focused and upbeat and prepared -- which is a lot -- but not nearly as much as Obama has to do now.

The Chicago Mafia has already begun. Axelrod is the "hired killer" who has a long history in Chicago of mowing down the opposition with crooked means. I hope that the few who still haven't decided do not believe the tsunami of fraud that will be forthcoming. Hope Obama's gay days in Chicago will finally come out. Some say he is also on drugs with the Secret Service turning their backs. Remember the t.v. show, "What's your line?", Will the real Barak Obama please step out??

Millionaire Obama will accuse Romney of being a millionaire?
... Oooops. I guess Obama Lites aren't supposed to know that.

Romney has a failed record?
Romney's discredited ideas?
Romney, the flip-flopper?
Romney is devoid of honesty?
.... These character traits are straight from Obama's resume. Trying to drag Mitt down into Empty Suit's oozing slime will not work. Next, they will try to accuse Romney of incompetence for not being a rabble-rousing community organizer. THAT, it seems, is the best job description to qualify one for the presidency. Just ask those members of the Old Media who applauded to promote Empty Suit into the Oval Office.

Good column. Of course the Obama campaign will fight dirty; we've all known that for ages. Their reactions yesterday were just laughable, though. Not the real Mitt Romney? Please. The biggest laugh of all? The notion that Obama's too intelligent for the rest of us to understand. They've been pushing that a long time, too.

I , too, am really looking forward to the VP debate. I doubt there will be a need for rehearsing on the part of Paul Ryan. His strength is his convictions and the ability to convey them with ease ,class and clarity. On the other hand , Biden will eschew any preparation for an entirely different reason; he thinks he's the smartest man who ever lived. I expect fun and fireworks. So, the obama-criminal-enterprise can do worse than calling Mitt Romney a murderer, a felon, a tax cheat, a dog torturer? How much worse can they GET? I guess we should all be afraid and hide under the bed for what evil is coming in October? Not gonna happen. It's getting tiresome hearing about the "threats" of the great "chicago machine"! Are we supposed to fear a little adolph-wannabe like axelgrease? Don't think so. Let them bring it on and see what happens when it's over.

On the Lou Dobbs show last night, I caught the beginning of the lies. Judith Miller, attempting to paint Romney as a liar, had her clock cleaned by Dobbs. Loved seeing that. And, even after Dobbs presented her with the facts, she still tried to scream over him that Romney lied. She was completely out of control.
BUT, cornered animals can be dangerous things.

The Secret Service has no control over how a POTUS chooses to self medicate. It is not in their brief. Their task is to protect the President from everything but himself or herself. There is a long history of absolutely atrocious behavior by Dimocratic Presidents, which include drugs, sex, and even murder by proxy.

To even the playing field, the remaining debates will be Romney vs. a panel of 2000 old media criminals.

I tend to think the blowback will be much less than the hype. You listen to people "on the ground" in Chicago--people who have their finger on the pulse of the city, and what you hear is among the masses their is a huge weight of apathy towards Obama. People can walk or drive around displaying RR ads this time without any problems. Now in 2008, it was vicious, but now? No one's fighting mad. Nobody's ready to lynch anyone. No one cares about Obama--he is the rock star that was but is no longer.

Be prepared by all means, but beware the conspiracy theories!

Didn't Sarah Palin say this the other day? But I actually kind of disagree. While the O campaign operation in Chicago will go on full attack mode, that doesn't have that much to do with Chicago politics. This is a one-party town. Democrats never go on the attack against Republicans because there are no Republican candidates to attack.

I see my lefty friends using the "Romney lied his way through the debate" garbage based on Think Progress and other leftists hack articles. The mainstream media isn't actually going after Romney on that, though, are they? Why? Because anything the "fact checkers" are showing as "lies" is more disagreement. Obama can be shown to have actually lied.

It's not that the msm is getting honest. They are seeing that Romney's campaign and the right aren't going to sit still for the same kinds of lies they pulled off during the Bush admin.

Or, another possibility, is that they're saving their forked tongue reporting for whatever trick Obama has up his sleeve for the home stretch.

Last election when Sarah said,"I was a Mayor. A mayor is kind of like being a Community Organizer except you are accountable to others." The Obama camp went ballistic. Soon after that they went after her family and that whole can of worms opened up. Hopefully, Mitt's sons are prepared for the attack.

This going to be a rout. I fully expect the deluge of slime to come pouring forth from Chicago, and Romney's family should be prepared to be hit by their "fair share" of it. Remember Letteman's dirty sex jokes about our gal Sarah's teenage daughter? The demons will be in full shriek. But it won't work, because it will be inconsistent with what people see and hear with their own eyes and ears on their TV's when Romney speaks during the debates. And what are they seeing?

Romney looks and sounds like the boss you always LIKED. Everyone has had one, maybe still do. He's the one you could count on to make a timely decision when you needed it to do your job. He'd listen to you, think about what you said, then send you back to work with a clear course to pursue. And he didn't just have your back if things got hinky, he'd step in front of you and own HIS decisions. You knew you could trust that guy. And you did. He was a leader, and he led from the FRONT.

And that's what people see on TV during the debates. The Obama campaign has no way to counter it, because all they have to sell is Obama. It's going to be a rout.

Chicago politics is the only way for Obama to win now.
The public relations media will of course provide all the assitance that they can but, the people are beginning to see that they have no clothes either. More and more people are seeing the lack of integrity and credibility in the propaganda media, that is why youb are starting to hear some minor complaints and small attacks on the administration. They will be back in the "Little Christie Matthews" drooling public relations efforts shortly.

We watch and maybe now we are learning how the Chicago corruption team deals with candidates. In my small city watched an assistant mayor, from Chicago, get the Democrat mayor re-elected. She did a marvelous job of marginalizing the conservative woman which delighted the liberal women? Strange. The President and his media backers tried to marginalize Governor Romney (and lie) but in a face to face their efforts were rebuked. The more experienced in business, politics, family and a descent man, whether it be by church or just his upbringing prevailed. Now we must do our part and get people out to vote.

I will continue beating my drum: We need conservative mainstream media! Not just to win these elections, but to explain to American people what leftist radicals are about!
I grew up in soviet union and I can assure you that propaganda works. It took the soviets ~70 years to get to the point where propaganda stopped working - after all the casualties, all the hardships, all the restrictions and putdowns... Everything was a problem: food, healthcare, housing, clothing, furniture, transportation, you name it. We saw rampant inequality between nomenclature bureaucrats and the rest of the country. EVERY store had back shelves to which only chosen ones had access. Nomenclature had their own hospitals, different set of medications (usually, manufactured in Switzerland or Germany), even bathroom hardware!
You see Greeks and Spaniards blaming the government for corruption - duh, what else is new? Power corrupts, absolute power.... you know the saying! And keep in mind one very important thing: the crooks vet their crews. How mafia is recruiting new members - through very arduous vetting process. You think America is different? No, biologically people are the same. The only restriction that keep us in check is exposure through the objective, conservative, commonsense media.

Aside from his Massachusetts experience with Dems, Mitt saw almost first hand how desperately the Dems operate when cornered...
He saw his good friend and former employee Meg Whitman who he was supporting get taken down in the Cali gubernatorial race with that nanny surprise wrought by despicable Dem operative Gloria Allred. So he knows full well what Dems are capable of when cornered or behind.
BTW, since that election, Hewlett-Packard chose Whitman as their new CEO. The nanny issue was obviously bogus right from the git go.

I am always amazed — amazed — when anyone has the gall to dismiss, even laugh off, the suggestion that the right to keep and bear arms is a smart and necessary provision for a free society. Human history (not to mention current events!) is too chock-full of examples of nefarious regimes violently abusing and controlling their people, and the freedoms enjoyed by American citizens are the exception, not the rule. During a committee hearing of the Oregon state senate in considering their own state package of gun-control legislation last week, one testifier reminded the assembled lawmakers of one

A few years ago I interviewed a handyman to do some work on my house. I noticed a teardrop tattoo at the top of his left cheek. Prior to hiring him, I searched online for what this design signified. My mouth dropped when I found out. A teardrop tattoo can mean he murdered someone. So I hired someone else. Plastic surgeons and dermatologists are seeing more and more people who want their tattoos removed, often because they worry that the tattoos could cause problems with employment. Andrew Breitbart has become an iconic and beloved figure on the right, so it’s hard to imagine his eponymous empire could be in danger of losing conservative support just one year after his passing. But if recent events are a harbinger of things to come, that’s at least a possibility. It all started last October, when BuzzFeed’s McKay Coppins penned a controversial piece, arguing the outlet was “plagued by an unusual degree of disorganization and rampant infighting…” The report might have been easily dismissed, had it not been soon revealed that Breitbart.com’s Dana Loesch was suing Breitbart.com

Three Who Saved the West

And now the last of them is gone. Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, and Pope John Paul II—three who won the Cold War and, it isn´t too much to say, saved the West (at least for a while!)—are no longer with us. Their examples remain. They knew what they believed but also knew they had to justify their beliefs, and that one could adjust prudently to circumstances without yielding on principle. They stood firm when in power, and they took risks to get there, challenging the conventional wisdom and the respective establishments of their nations or institutions.

The 16-year-old drew up detailed plans to massacre his classmates in Northamptonshire using handguns and home-made bombs. He created intricate classroom plans and a hit-list of fellow students and where they sat, and said he would carry on shooting until the police arrived, at which point he would take his own life. But after warning users on a forum that he would be armed and ready "20 minutes from now", one user called the FBI, who alerted police in England. On Monday the boy, who cannot be named because of his age,

Frustration is taking its toll in the liberals’ war against guns. President Obama, pushing his broad gun control agenda, said we should be ashamed if we’ve forgotten the Newtown shooting so soon. The New York Times opined that Obama is being shouted down by the “gun lobby,” even though he and Biden had been crisscrossing the country “…making a forceful case for a package of laws that would reduce gun violence.” That, of course, is the media narrative on gun control. For every issue there is a narrative: a set of assumptions and boundaries of thought

GOLFE-JUAN, France—Frank Samson has prepared for a long time to meet his Waterloo. The French lawyer impersonates Napoleon Bonaparte at re-enactment battles, but it is no idle hobby. Mr. Samson has found what he says are perfect replicas of the French general´s gray overcoat, he has studied Napoleon´s native Corsican tongue and he has had himself crowned emperor of France, in a cathedral yet. In 2015, he wants to lead thousands of military enthusiasts into the ultimate re-enactment: the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo in Belgium. But an American rival stands in his way. Is it time to give up the fight against Obamacare? That’s a question some conservative health-care experts, pundits, and — more quietly — politicians are asking. In the first years after its passage, opponents had hoped that the Supreme Court would strike down the law or that a new president would sign its repeal before most of it took effect. But the Supreme Court decided to modify a few of its provisions instead of striking it down, and President Obama was reelected. Repeal is almost certainly off the table for four years. Obamacare will continue to be implemented.

As the bipartisan Gang of Eight works to complete a comprehensive immigration reform bill, there has been a growing consensus among Senate Republicans that the bill — so far seen by no one outside the Gang — should be the subject of multiple hearings and extended consideration inside the Senate Judiciary Committee. But on Sunday there were signs that consensus does not extend to the Republicans inside the Gang. Appearing on CBS, longtime immigration reform advocate and Gang member Sen. John McCain suggested the immigration issue is so familiar to lawmakers that multiple hearings will not be necessary.

Via Fox Nation, newly released statistics show that illegal immigrant infiltration along the U.S.-Mexico border is increasing markedly despite recent statements to the contrary by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano: “I can tell you having worked that border for 20 years, it is more secure now than it has ever been. Illegal apprehensions are at 40-year lows,” Napolitano told reporters this week in Houston. But figures released Thursday by Customs and Border Protection to Fox News tell a different story. Arrests are actually up 13 percent

The White House press corps should ask President Obama this question: You’ve told Iran’s leaders that if they come close to marrying a nuclear warhead with a missile that can hit the United States or our allies, they should expect a U.S. military attack on their soil. (Snip)Administration officials would never admit it, but the main reason for their being tougher on Iran than North Korea seems tied to American domestic politics as much or more than anything else, specifically the standing of Israel and oil versus Korea and Japan.

AS a Texas-raised journalist, I can tell you two things with confidence about my native state. One, its economy has been humming nicely for years. Two, this appears to greatly offend a certain breed of Northern writer, several of whom have descended on the state in an attempt to rebut stories of a “Texas miracle.” (Snip) “Texas has a long tradition of looking outside the government for support — and often finding it. That predates the Texas revolution and was reinforced by the rise of the cattle kingdom and the oil booms.”

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

The case of a same-sex Connecticut couple accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two of their nine adopted boys is headed for trial. Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
