Democrats prescribing perpetual poverty
Washington Times, by Ted Nugent

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 10/4/2012 11:10:04 PM

I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor. Neither condition changed who I am as a person. However, flying private sure beats the hell out of hitchhiking. Know this: There isn’t a Democrat who would choose public housing and food stamps over a fat bank account and a mansion. Not a single one. Dreaming of wealth and the independence and joys it provides is natural in America because in America, dreams can become reality if you work hard enough, sacrifice greatly, are willing to take risks, have an unshakable belief in yourself and are terminally stoned on dogged persistence and absolute perfection.

It's always good to hear from the Nuge.

Every statist country reaches "fair" equality of its citizens in the same way, by lower the standard of living until all are equally destitute. Government can only offer people a subsistence, bare lifestyle. You will live but you may wish you weren't.

When government "helps", it should be as a last resort and for the shortest possible time.

The only real help for people is the freedom to improve themselves through their own efforts. This is exactly the thing that BO is envious of and condemns. How little he understands this Country!

Ted is right. Dems only offer sour grapes and bitter bread. Why people keep falling for their line is a mystery.

Thanks Ted.

I've said it before...envy is a state of mind. There will ALWAYS be someone with more than me, thus giving me cause, if I choose, to think I should have more, always more. This is the sermon Obama preaches. Not that a person is capable of achieving, but that they should envy those who have, and that he is the god who will give them what they covet. This isn't about food and shelter. It's about envy, greed, and covetousness.

The government has created a class of perpetual dependency; yet, these people all have free cell phones, they all have tattoos and they all have body piercing, and they all have strong opinions. I have two nephews who have never worked, yet they always have food and housing and enough money to buy cigarettes, and they keep telling me how great 0bama is.

Mr. Nugent says, "taking the wealth of some and giving it to others who have not earned it and have no right to it." but he misses one part of the equation. The ones who do the taking and giving seem to also get a goodly share for their efforts.

Shakedown: A federal judge has ruled that a $9.5 billion judgment against Chevron in Ecuador was won through fraud. It´s a victory for Chevron, but at a cost of millions. So why isn´t someone in this environmental predator racket in jail? After more than a decade of battling against charges it created a "rainforest Chernobyl" in an Ecuadorean village called Lago Agrio, it must have come as a relief to the oil giant to hear the words of truth ring out from the bench of a tough Manhattan judge, Lewis Kaplan. In a nearly 500-page ruling, he branded the entire case as

Some Americans may vaguely recall Mumia Abu-Jamal from the "Free Mumia" T-shirts and posters that once cluttered college campuses. Maureen Faulkner will forever remember him as the cold-blooded cop killer who left her a widow at age 24. Maureen has endured three decades of endless appeals and a dishonest, international campaign to turn her husband´s killer into a celebrated icon for the radical left. Now one of the lawyers who helped to promote that campaign, Debo Adegbile, has been nominated to lead the Justice Department´s Civil Rights Division. A vote on that nomination is scheduled this week in the Senate. This affront

Leadership: Marco Rubio lit the Senate on fire Wednesday with a powerful statement about Cuba´s stranglehold on Venezuela. He didn´t need to dig deep to prove it: His evidence was as abundant as Cuba´s shortages. With much of the foreign policy establishment either silent or focused elsewhere, and useful idiots in the Venezuelan regime spewing mendacious talking points in the media, it´s easy for truth to get lost in the maelstrom submerging Venezuela, a nation just 1,200 miles from Key West. At the southernmost point of Central Park, on a small strip of sidewalk abutting 59th Street, hundreds of Venezuelans swarmed a statue of Simon Bolivar, the Caracas-born liberator of South America and a figure now most commonly associated with the bolivarian revolution of Hugo Chavez and his rechristened Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. But it’s an association that when mentioned in this crowd produces furrowed brows and narrowed eyes, quickly followed by a rapid-fire recapitulation of Chavez’s many crimes. The necessary symbolism of the meeting point trumped practicality: the crowd quickly swelled, spreading like an inkblot from the small patch surrounding Bolivar

We have a better idea: Just scrap the FCC. There´s nothing worse than a federal agency that has lost its original mission, has nothing productive to do and, as a result, is restlessly rustling around for something to justify its existence. That describes the Federal Communications Commission, an old-line agency founded in the 1930s to regulate a limited supply of television airwaves divided among three networks, which is now gone with the wind. You have probably seen all of the ridiculous speculating about the GOP nomination in 2016. This is still speculating, but my sincere hope is you don’t think it’s ridiculous too. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is laying the foundation for his presidential bid in concrete and steel. First, forget about Jeb Bush unless you want to hand Hillary eight years in the White House. The latest Rasmussen poll shows her leading Jeb in a general election 47 percent to 33. His name is Bush and to the general public the specifics of how smart he is doesn’t matter one iota.
