I think we should all call it "Obama's DUI Debate." Debating under the influence.

I have usually enjoyed and respected Krauthammer's opinions, but he has sniped at Romney too much in the past. With this column, he redeems himself. A little.

It is what happens when you take a guy of average intelligence and put him in a debate with nothing but sound bites to utter. Knowing what questions are going to be asked is no advantage when all you can do is recite prepared responses but do not have sufficient thinking capacity to handle deviations from the program. Obama was bewildered when he found himself on his own. Dr. K is wrong if he thinks this has not always been apparent. If you buy the media hogwash then you too would be bewildered.

Thats the problem with relying on these media assisted extreme caricatures. They are easy to deflate for a candidate who has fought his way to the top of his Party's nomination process. Then, you have nothing left and the public begins to doubt everything you say. But, thankfully the innate arrogance of Liberals prevents them from ever learning anything new and worthwhile.

Funny how so many of the conservative punditry have jumped on the Romney bandwagon. America still loves a winner. That's okay, though. At least perhaps now they'll stop enabling the Obama campaign.

Not one for pundits and punditry, I am still happy to see them come on board. Even Bill Kristol seems to be trying to redeem himself. That will be a tough sell. He did himself a lot of damage with his lapses in judgment.

These people do what they do. They chatter. I'd rather have them with us than against us.

Great article by Krauthammer, too bad it took him so long to recognize who Mitt Romney is. But better late than never. What #5 and #8 said. As for Kristol, he has NO redeeming value and went on the Dennis Miller show yesterday and was STILL tsk, tsking about Mitt Romney. Pathetic.

Trucker Observation: The Tea Party won't rest untill Mitt is elected and takes office as President of the United States of America. Take your friends, relatives and coworkers with you to vote. Don't leave it to someone else. You get that senior to the polls. You get that unemployed college kid to vote for job creation.

I was stunned, big surprise, by that Maddow babe on MSNBC. She had film of debates going back to Carter in 1976. I never got the point of what she was saying - I can't take but a few seconds of her pomposity - but talk about wee-weed up yesterday! I loved it.

Jimmy -- public television dude -- told the audience to refrain from any comments -- so the zero was out there all alone.... Just "his" words. No affirmative action prof to prop him up...no media to spin his lies...no direction from valerie jarret and SOROS....

In conjunction with #13, BO is a Hollyweird president. He's playing a part. He has no clue as to what this Country is really about, who we are as a people, and how the economy works.

But he has his ideological script and that's what he works from. But without a fawning audience, like a vain actor, he is out of character. Eastwood, knowing his craft so well, recognized what BO is, a bad actor. An empty chair.

As to Romney, knowing his life story of successes, I KNEW he had to be capable of this type of focus. It's his own fault that he didn't place it front and center until now. Of course the unfiltered venue helped. He could directly confront BO, who was catastrophically unprepared. But even if he had been prepared, there was really no answer to Romney's challenge because BO's history is one of gross incompetence and failure. Romney pushed through BO's soundbite strategy and got to reality. The reality of BO is pathetic.

That's why BO lost so badly. Without his press shield he is a useless leader. His mediocre speaking abilities were revealed. His soaring intelligence gasping in the dust. His petulant narcissism laid bare. BO never was anything special but now everyone knows it.

What I would like to see in the next debate:

Mr. President…I do not know which of your numerous advisors are feeding you that erroneous information, if I were you I would remove them from the government payroll.
After the election there is likely to be an opening for him as chief deceiver at NBC.

I agree with John Sununu. If you're not that bright, all the prep in the world won't help. In Obie's case, he thinks he is smarter than he is, which is his curse. He doesn't have the solid database of knowledge from which to draw in a debate. Having been given a pass by the media - the now defunct WH press conferences were a joke - and probably not getting much criticism from his toadies, who are afraid of his vicious petulance, he lives in a mental cave.

Jim Lehrer and Mitt Romney invaded his cave the other night and he was without weapons.

In his defence, President Obama did look like he was on a 'mile high'---Maybe he smoked a joint right befor the debate......

I watched the entire debate online last night. It was not the split screen version. Romney won handily, but the notion that President Obama was off his game does not jibe with the perfomance I saw. Given the lousy record he has to defend, Obama did alright. Romney definitely won, but the reviews of President Obama's performance are perplexing.

A certifiable Brooklyn stomping. 98 percenter.

The limpwristed prez was a disaster. Stupid is as stupid does. I do not see him as eye candy or anything but an ugly mussolini type and his do nothing about our dead in Libya was an impeachable offense. I find hin offensive just being alive and prez.

Romney didn't even have to be at the top of his game to make his pathetic opponent look like a third grader trying to get through a history test. Obama had no facts that were true and his attacks fell short every time. I hope he at least got to play a little golf in Vegas, otherwise it was a wasted trip.

Can't wait until the foreign policy debate, which is going to separate the adults from the crybabies. The error that Obama, Hillary and Susan Rice made concerning the attack in Libya, and the amateurish, obvious attempt at a cover up makes Jimmy Carter look like Napoleon. Their policies around the rest of the world are just as bad, they just haven't had them blow up in their faces yet.

It isn't so complicated, it's not. Obama was taking the debate in stride, and to smooth out his nerves before hand, he smoked one of his marijuana blunts. He had his stupid smirk on; he was tripping on his "illegal smile".

He was too stoned to care!

Obama only knows his campaign’s spin. For example:

During a speech, Romney says, “Cutting tax rates across the board will create millions of new jobs, which will generate increased tax revenues to help reduce the deficit.” (paraphrased)

The Obama campaign releases an ad saying, “Romney wants to give millionaires and billionaires a $5billion tax cut.”

An Obama Super-PAC ad says, “Romney will raise taxes on the middle class, while cutting taxes for millionaires and billionaires like him.”

Because his debate prep handlers want him to stay “on message”, they prompt him on the campaign’s talking points, without telling him what Romney actually said.

During the debate, when Obama says, “Romney wants to cut taxes for the rich by $5billion,” Romney responds by saying, “That’s not my position. What I’ve said all along is…” [and explains his position.] Obama is caught off-guard and has no response.

After the debate, Obama’s handlers tell him to go on the attack. During a speech to partisan supporters the next morning he says, “Romney lied last night. For months he has supported a $5billion tax cut for the rich, now, with 5 weeks to go, he’s changing his position.”

A little off the subject, but no one has brought up the fact that Jim Lehrer reminds me of one of those people who came back from the dead in "Pet Sematary".

OH-Bama got taken to the woodshed Wednesday night and OH-Bama is out the next day acting like a little school yard transgender nerd hiding behind a girl's skirt and calling Mitt names. What the hiring class requires is certainty that their taxes, their energy costs, and their medical care plan costs will not go up. Someone said that the business of America is business, and another said that he had never been offered a job by a poor man.

In his misguided search for "fairness", the President ignores these maxims to our national detriment.

Sununu was right. Wednesday night is a perfect illustration of what happens when you match up affirmative action "smarts" against real smarts. Romney is one of the most decent men you will ever meet. That is why the press and Obama have worked so hard to portray him as a hard-hearted plutocrat. Romney is also one of the most brilliant men you'll ever meet. He is one of only 15 people ever to earn the joint law and business graduate degrees as Harvard. And, he wound up at the top of both the law and business school classes while doing them simultaneously. I think he had a couple of kids at the time, too. But, Obama and the press have tried to paint him as a bumbling fool. Lying SOBs.

Romney set out to get into Obie's head last tuesday night, and that he did. He destroyed the Obiemeister. Now do you really think that Santorum, Gingrich, Bachmann, Paul, Cain, Pawlenty, et al could have done that?? Hint: NFW. Let's roll.

Re #31 the blogger at Hillbuzz knows a lot about Obie because he is in Chicago and has many contacts there.

Obie was pretty notorious in that town before he moved into the White House. His habits, his sexual proclivities, what, where and with whom. He was not discreet. So he is remembered by a lot of people he probably wishes would forget about that part of his life.
