Best debate outcome since "are you better off" in 1980. Article written by a Journolister, none the less. That performance is going to take a lot of effort for Brian Williams, David Letterman & Ms Greenspan to overcome. They may not do it, but they are sure going to try.

#1, is right. The US has been lead by someone without substance, so when you compare someone WITH substance to our current POTUS, it's magnified. BO is void of thought and substance

More than the slobbering spinners, I am enjoying the comments from Obama's usual apologists. Chris Matthews breathed fire and publicly spanked the president in the town square. But the best comment came from Tweeter Bill Maher who noted that Obama really CAN'T talk without the teleprompter.

Romney gave a very, very good speech at the end of the debate. I hope he doesn't get giddy, and not prepare for the next two debates. There are still two debates left. Go Mitt!

What was that line that the MSM used to describe Obama? Oh, it goes.."the smartest guy in the room, anywhere".
Well, it appears that Mitt just took over that line after last nights debate!

Mitt pointed out that in his green energy subsidies Fauxbama consistently picked losers. Now the American voters had a chance to see that that's exactly what they did four years ago.

Frank Luntz's self-described Obama-leaning focus group astonished Luntz with a reversal such as he had never seen before.

James Carville said Obama came armed with "conversation", but Romney came with "a chainsaw".

"The candidate can throw out numbers and the word plan, which voters associate with the actual having of plans. The attacker has to command enough facts, simultaneously, to prove that rival wrong, live. And he has to look nice doing it."

Which is exactly what Mr. Romney managed to do -- in spades!

Romney's business experience has prepared him for most of the debates and he then prepared anyway. Obama whined, said preparing for the debates was a drag, they made me do my homework and then came in and hoped he could coast and b.s. as usual and get fawning applause for his soundbite zingers. Mitt was listening and his comments of "I have no idea what you are talking about" or saying he was not going to do what Obama accused his plan to be, was too much for Zero. He was controlling a full blown hissy fit and probably did that when he got home. ( which was nothing compared to Mama O who was fuming that her vacation list and party list might be alterred if he loses)

I'd love to have been the fly on the wall to hear what Mooch and Valerie had to say to him after they got back to their hotel.

I like how they keep whining that the '47%' remark didn't come up in the debate. The truth is that Romney would have taken any and every verbal curveball from Obama and hit it out of the park.
Obama would rather spew such nonsense via one-way commercials. The face-to-face encounter left him cowering in the corner.

Obama's like a king in chess. As long as your king is standing, you're still in the game. The other pieces do almost all the work in winning the game. Similarly, with Obama sitting --- just sitting --- in the White House, the Left has been able to bring in brigades of like minded Leftists to rework the government, i.e. the Executive Branch and distributed power and reach, as its workforce, 2 million plus workers strong. In particular, we now have a Leftist Justice Dept, a Leftist EPA, a Leftist HHS, etc., How? Because the king is in the White House. Our job is to win --- checkmate, the king falls, game over for the Leftists. The other Leftist pieces can scurry back to academia, the states, like Mass., Ill., Calif., and to the various law firms and foundations.

Romney's main job once in is to scrub the place clean when he gets in there. No naive, foolish transition like GWBush conducted, leaving much vermin in place to infest and undermine in the bureaucracy.

I have to disagree #4. The best line was, "You don’t just pick winners and losers, you pick the losers".

The next debate will be on foreign policy. Hard not to like Romney's chances in that one. With the backdrop of current events the Country can look at the two side by side and envision who they would want to represent them to people who hate us for not justifiable reason.

Obambi's clear incompetence was full bore last night. And now the pressure is on for Biden to right the ship. Never in the history of debates has so much rested on such a blithering idiot. Ryan could pound Biden and set an impossible bar for Obambi to overcome in the 2nd debate. In the past, poor performances by the standard bearer have been overcome by the Dem VP candidate. That is a tall order this time around. IF Ryan crushes Biden, I don’t think Obambi can recover in the next two debates. A perception of total competence in the Rebublican ticket will be too much for such an empty chair to overcome.

Dems have become the party of image and soundbite and spin. They don't know how to deal with substance. They pontificate and wave their fingers like BJ Clintoon but reality has no bearing on their thinking. They want to win the popularity contest by any means possible. Then they just do what they want. They govern by whim and the results are not, not surprisingly, disastrous. They then use the same techniques to try to cover the disaster, spin and imagery.

Romney walked in to confront the liberal fantasy and demolished it. On live TV the media shield doesn't exist and people got to see that BO is an empty podium. Like #4 I love the Dad line - and isn't this just the point to make Zippy uncomfortable? He never had a dad. He also never had anyone contradict him like this before. He simply never had a genuine authority figure in his life, at least not one who truly cared about him.

The WH is no place for on-the-job training - but too many voters were swayed by the cool guy, and his handlers read the mood right. If John McCain had won in 2008, I suspect he would have made a lot of us angry, too. The Dems would either re-launch Obama or another smooth talker - probably another light-skinned African-American. They would not have let go of the racist card - their trump card.

Therefore, if you look at 2008 and where we are in 2012, we are probably four years ahead of where we would be in 2016. McCain, IMO, would not have been a successful or popular president. The Dem candidate in 2016 would have become almost a mandate, and we wouldn't yet know how bad that decision would have been.
