| DENVER—This is what losing looks like: five stoic strategists for the Obama campaign camped out in the spin room. They do not deny that Mitt Romney just beat the president on all the points that count in TV debates. (Snip) Here’s what winning looks like: Mitt Romney’s strategists saying they won on everything, substance included. Romney’s recently maligned Svengali, Stu Stevens, speaks about the president with acidic pity. “I don’t think he had a bad debate,” he says. “He had a bad four years.”

Years ago many of us said Barack Obama was an empty suit. Last night the rest of the world found out. That had to be humiliating for a fellow with such a high opinion of himself.

Best debate outcome since "are you better off" in 1980. Article written by a Journolister, none the less. That performance is going to take a lot of effort for Brian Williams, David Letterman & Ms Greenspan to overcome. They may not do it, but they are sure going to try.

The best line:
"I have 5 boys. I am use to hearing people say untrue things and hope that if they repeat it someone will believe them"
Romney called Obama an immature child and Obama did nothing about it. He didn't even get angry

Once more debate like last night's and you will see liberal pundits turn against the president. They will not want to be associated with him as he drops.

Disparate points --
1. Lots of work wasted. All those pre-written scripts and articles, useless.
2. Remember that "blank canvas" we could paint on what we wanted? A whole lot of us decided to paint a great, big "L" on it.
3. Guys like Axelrod had better have enough saved to retire, 'cause Ax for sure won't get hired as a WalMart greeter.

We are, 5...4...3...2...1 away from a major televised meltdown. I'm excited, are you? The handlers have to be livid and they know the dirty little secret is that obit has nothing. He's toast! He can't come back, not on his own. All that campaigning, blaming, shucking and jiving is played. Romney slapped down almost all of his lies all the while staying on offense and putting zippy on defense. Shibang!Kapow!
Little obit can't shift gears now and defend what he's done the last four years. His only redemption is to come clean and fess up that he's a tool, a Muslim sympathizer, at best, he hates this country, sought to destroy it and has come to see the error of his ways. That might serve just to keep him from gettin beat by 20-30 points, but it won't save him.

More than the slobbering spinners, I am enjoying the comments from Obama's usual apologists. Chris Matthews breathed fire and publicly spanked the president in the town square. But the best comment came from Tweeter Bill Maher who noted that Obama really CAN'T talk without the teleprompter.
Many unpleasant facts were revealed last night. .... I humbly thank My Maker for allowing the truths to surface.

Romney's business experience has prepared him for most of the debates and he then prepared anyway. Obama whined, said preparing for the debates was a drag, they made me do my homework and then came in and hoped he could coast and b.s. as usual and get fawning applause for his soundbite zingers. Mitt was listening and his comments of "I have no idea what you are talking about" or saying he was not going to do what Obama accused his plan to be, was too much for Zero. He was controlling a full blown hissy fit and probably did that when he got home. ( which was nothing compared to Mama O who was fuming that her vacation list and party list might be alterred if he loses)

I like how they keep whining that the '47%' remark didn't come up in the debate. The truth is that Romney would have taken any and every verbal curveball from Obama and hit it out of the park. Obama would rather spew such nonsense via one-way commercials. The face-to-face encounter left him cowering in the corner.

Obama is an empty suit, a place holder. That's all he has to be in the current Leftist occupation of D.C. He doesn't have to lead, only occupy. Others are doing the work and know how to go about it. Obama's like a king in chess. As long as your king is standing, you're still in the game. The other pieces do almost all the work in winning the game. Similarly, with Obama sitting --- just sitting --- in the White House, the Left has been able to bring in brigades of like minded Leftists to rework the government, i.e. the Executive Branch and distributed power and reach, as its workforce, 2 million plus workers strong. In particular, we now have a Leftist Justice Dept, a Leftist EPA, a Leftist HHS, etc., How? Because the king is in the White House. Our job is to win --- checkmate, the king falls, game over for the Leftists. The other Leftist pieces can scurry back to academia, the states, like Mass., Ill., Calif., and to the various law firms and foundations.
Romney's main job once in is to scrub the place clean when he gets in there. No naive, foolish transition like GWBush conducted, leaving much vermin in place to infest and undermine in the bureaucracy.

The perpetual "back bencher" Obama does NOT have the moxie to be able to overcome the crushing mental defeat of his performance last night. His next debate will be just as bad, if not worse. The only thing he can hope for is that the town hall where it will be held will be packed with Union thugs who will intimidate Romney.
This morning Obama no doubt feels bewildered and extremely insecure. Let me add that narcissists are dangerous when they're feeling what he feels this morning.

#27 is right. Obama and his 'Rat supporters have been cornered, so they're going to get vicious. But to those LDotters who were parying for this debate, know that it was those very prayers that sustained Romney last night. And just as the army of Israel prevailed only when they saw Moses standing on the hill with his hands raised in prayer, Mr. Romney needs our continuous prayer to win this thing. Keep your arms raised in prayer for him!

Obambi's clear incompetence was full bore last night. And now the pressure is on for Biden to right the ship. Never in the history of debates has so much rested on such a blithering idiot. Ryan could pound Biden and set an impossible bar for Obambi to overcome in the 2nd debate. In the past, poor performances by the standard bearer have been overcome by the Dem VP candidate. That is a tall order this time around. IF Ryan crushes Biden, I don’t think Obambi can recover in the next two debates. A perception of total competence in the Rebublican ticket will be too much for such an empty chair to overcome.

It is by prayer that Mr. Romney, like Moses, was able to stand up under media pressure, even when his "supporters" (ie., Bill Kristol, Peggy Noonan, ect.) were about to hightail it out of Dodge.
But, friends, keep up the prayer support and encouragement for Mitt. There's still a month to go fighting against the dirtiest of political parties and persons. Dems have become the party of image and soundbite and spin. They don't know how to deal with substance. They pontificate and wave their fingers like BJ Clintoon but reality has no bearing on their thinking. They want to win the popularity contest by any means possible. Then they just do what they want. They govern by whim and the results are not, not surprisingly, disastrous. They then use the same techniques to try to cover the disaster, spin and imagery.
Romney walked in to confront the liberal fantasy and demolished it. On live TV the media shield doesn't exist and people got to see that BO is an empty podium. The dems and media can spin with all their might but people SAW BO as angry, petulant, and incompetent. BO's record is a failure, all he has are his promises but if he is incompetent, his promises are worthless.
Last night, people got to see and understand WHY BO has failed. He just doesn't have what it takes. He never did but now it is obvious.
In a way it's ironic. BO started his rise with the image of a successful convention speech, a shiny new star in 2004. He is exiting because of an image as a uncomfortable and incompetent president on the stage with a clearly better man.

Unfortunately America needed Obama to wake up people to the Evils of Marxism/Socialism. We've been heading in that direction for a long, long time, but most voters weren't aware of what was slipping away, until Obama so blatantly began to pilfered our national treasures - freedom and liberty.
#23 is right:Obama is an empty suit, a place holder. That's all he has to be in the current Leftist occupation of D.C. He doesn't have to lead, only occupy. Others are doing the work and know how to go about it.
The WH is no place for on-the-job training - but too many voters were swayed by the cool guy, and his handlers read the mood right. If John McCain had won in 2008, I suspect he would have made a lot of us angry, too. The Dems would either re-launch Obama or another smooth talker - probably another light-skinned African-American. They would not have let go of the racist card - their trump card.
Therefore, if you look at 2008 and where we are in 2012, we are probably four years ahead of where we would be in 2016. McCain, IMO, would not have been a successful or popular president. The Dem candidate in 2016 would have become almost a mandate, and we wouldn't yet know how bad that decision would have been.

#1 - Yes he is! An empty suit is like a soufflé, when the air goes out the whole thing collapses. Obama is the classic empty suit who has been propelled since infancy through the best schools (from the most exclusive prep school in Hawaii to Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard Law), bestowed with great honors (president of the Law Review, Nobel Peace Prize) and into posts (instructor at University of Chicago Law School, Illinois State Senator, United States Senator, President of the United States of America) for which he was qualified only by virtue of his race and his radical ideology. The whole contrivance imploded last night as the air went out of Obama’s campaign in one great rancid and embarrassingly public fart. But the best line goes to the Weekly Standard’s Mark Hemingway who said "That wasn’t a debate so much as Mitt Romney just took Obama for a cross country drive strapped to the roof of his car!"

To many in our cultural elite, Woody Guthrie is an American saint. The legendary songwriter from Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, is introduced to every American child by way of his folk anthem “This Land Is Your Land.” But for gatekeepers of the arts, Guthrie is much more: All of his work—every song, every article, every poem—is good and honest and true, the gospel according to Woody. What other justification is there for the release of this deservedly long-lost novel? Completed in 1947 but only recently “rediscovered,” House of Earth is an incoherent polemic interspersed with erotic scenes and rambling descriptions

Looks like it’s Let’s Make a Deal time this month, except perhaps for budgets, at least for the moment. At the same time the Senate has cut a deal on gun control by, er, making the status quo slightly more muscular, the Gang of Eight has reached a deal in principle on immigration. (Snip) The schedule outlined by the aides is meant to satisfy Sen. PHILADELPHIA – A surprise name has surfaced to replace a congresswoman who has announced her run for governor. It’s back to the future. ‘Comprehensive immigration reform,” a deal on which is reportedly imminent, has a lot of moving parts — too many, in truth, as with most “comprehensive” legislation. Among the costs of comprehensivism is that debate over such bills often gets bogged down in the many details. Americans seeking to evaluate any deal should ask three questions about it to cut through the noise. First: Will it encourage future illegal immigration? This has always been the greatest risk of proposals to provide legal status for current illegal immigrants: that it will be seen as a reason for others to come here illegally

Long before Barack Obama dusted off his shoulders, Margaret Thatcher used a bright turquoise feather duster to sweep away the dirt of lingering socialism at the Conservative Party Conference in October 1975. (Snip for video)The Telegraph, which as a great old black-and-white picture of the occasion, says that it was "given to her by a member of the audience" at the party conference, where she delivered these remarks. Of all the images of her as a leader, this is the one that´s stuck in my mind since yesterday.

Republican leaders in Congress received a dire warning on Tuesday from former Vice President Dick Cheney on the ongoing crisis in North Korea. “We’re in deep doo doo,” Cheney told lawmakers, according to a GOP leadership aide. Cheney added the current North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, is unpredictable and doesn´t share the United States worldview. One lawmaker present at the session, Rep. Steve Southerland of Florida, said Cheney wore a cowboy hat and "looked really good, spoke really clearly, lucidly.” “It was nice to see him doing well,” Southerland said, noting the last time Cheney was on Capitol Hill

How many federal agencies does it take to do catfish safety inspections? At least three, according to the Government Accountability Office, which on Tuesday released its 2013 report on fragmentation and duplication of federal programs. This year´s report -- there were two previous editions of the report first requested by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. -- documents an estimated $95 billion in duplicative programs that waste precious tax dollars. That brings the three-year total of potential savings documented by GAO to $295 billion. Having three agencies doing catfish safety inspections may strike some as funny, but there is nothing to laugh about

Alan Dershowitz can be a frustrating man, but when he is good, he is very, very good. I witnessed his courage personally a few years back when I was part of delegation with him at the Durban II Conference in Geneva. Dershowitz was a one-man resistance band then, protesting the speech of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at that UN-sponsored festival of anti-Semitism. (Snip)Dershowitz told The Algemeiner in an interview: “I can’t imagine a worse person to honor for conflict resolution. Here’s a man who has engendered conflict wherever he goes. He has encouraged terrorism by Hamas and Hezbollah.

‘This is about doing the right thing for all the families who are here that have been torn apart by gun violence,” President Obama declared Monday, promoting his “common-sense gun safety reforms” in a speech at the University of Hartford, where the audience included parents of children murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School last December. “This is not about politics.” Unless you disagree with him. “There is only one thing that can stand in the way of change,” Obama said, “and that’s politics in Washington.” Members of Congress have a simple choice to make,

In one corner, a woman who never met a microphone she didn’t love, known for her striking hairstyles and repetition of catchy, simple, often nonsensical phrases. And, in the other, Beyoncé. It’s not just Republican lawmakers raising their eyebrows at the vacation recording artists Jay-Z and Beyoncé took to Cuba this week. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is head of the Democratic National Committee, but also represents a chunk of Miami and many Cuban-American voters: U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston said Tuesday she’d like to know more about the recent Cuba visit by mega-entertainers Beyoncé and Jay-Z…

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

West Virginia Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller, one of the towering architects of Obamacare, on Tuesday openly criticized program managers for not moving quickly enough to build the system, warning that if it gets off to a bumpy start it will just get worse. Decrying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as way too complex, he warned the acting Medicare director that Obamacare is "so complicated and if it isn´t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse."

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

Liberals descended on Pennsylvania Avenue Tuesday to protest President Barack Obama´s decision to include entitlement cuts in his upcoming budget, delivering 2 million petitions demanding the White House back off its support for the chained CPI. As we reported this weekend, liberals have been seething over the inclusion of the chained CPI in Obama´s budget, which they see as a huge betrayal by the Democratic president. This week, progressive groups, including MoveOn, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and Democracy for America, have mounted "emergency" online campaigns against the proposal, accusing Obama of

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius conceded Monday that implementing the Affordable Care Act has been more complicated and frustrating than the Obama administration expected, largely due to Republicans who have opposed the law´s state-based exchanges and Medicaid expansion. "The politics has been relentless and that continues," Sebelius said. "There was some hope that once the Supreme Court ruled in July, and then once an election occurred there would be a sense that, ´This is the law of the land, let´s get on board, let´s make this work.´"

In a stunning end to one of the most aggressively unsuccessful tenures in retail history, JCPenney (JCP) last night announced that CEO Ron Johnson would be leaving effective immediately. Myron Ullman, Johnson´s predecessor at JCPenney, takes office as CEO. When Johnson was initially wooed by JCPenney, it was to serve as CEO with Ullman as Chairman. In January 2012, Ullman was unceremoniously removed from the board. Gone with Ullman was any control the Board of Directors had over Ron Johnson and his control of JCPenney resources.
