Knockout: Mitt Romney Crushes Barack Obama in First Presidential Debate

| The first presidential debate opened with a stark contrast: A blue tie on President Barack Obama and a red tie on Gov. Mitt Romney. (snip) By about the 15 minute mark, President Obama appeared to be annoyed. That came after an exchange in which Gov. Romney interrupted moderator Jim Lehrer to deconstruct a misleading Obama charge that Romney plans to raise taxes on the middle class and cut taxes on the rich. Gov. Romney consistently delivered piles of facts, combined with stories about American workers and businesses that put flesh on those facts. It was an extremely effective strategy, showing
|
Comments: I watched it on CSpan. Before the debate began, Jim Lehrer repeatedly emphasized to the audience the importance of their silence. And so when the Entertainer in Chief made his sappy "Sweetie" comment and when he brought in Donald Trump, etc., he was met with silence. No doubt this had to have shook him up. He's used to being the adored, applauded, aggrandized one. Not tonight. Now the next Pres debate will be in a Townhall format. I suspect the Pres. will feel a little more in his league there.

Romney hit Obammy with his own Gangnam Style!
But despite all my gloating I know that if you ask any hunter, they will tell you a wounded animal is twice as dangerous as normal ... and even worse when it's trapped! Look for an October surprise from Obammy like bombing Iran, sinking a foreign sub, or something that puts our military at risk.

My Mitt sticker is going onto my car window today ....then I will drive over to the Whole Foods parking lot, armed with notes that I can stick under the windshield wipers of vehicles with O stickers that say.... "Hi Friend: I just wanted to let you know that some knucklehead vandalized your car by slapping an Obama sticker on it. The last thing you want is to be driving around all day looking like an idiot. Take care. A Good Samaritan."

The imposter’s face contorted in pain so many times, he could have been playing Captain Queeg in The Caine Mutiny. Mitt spoke well for all the good people in America. He was prepared and showed his intelligence and knowledge every minute. For the very first time, he made the word "compromise"(with all those socialists) sound good. Truly, Mitt showed how a real president conducts himself. Maybe Clint inspired him with the empty suit approach. They both made quotable, timeless comments! #39 asks a great question: was Obie looking to Lehr to "help me"? #45 warns we are in for the biggest ever attempt of election fraud from the Soros commies. Unlike any other of his appearances, Obie was so pushed by truth that he gave no side of his mouth “jive ass talk”. Aside from Mitt’s pleasantly unstoppable clarity and quiet “push” forcefulness, the most amazing other gift was Obie’s pained Queeg-like face looking down in anguish (maybe at unhelpful text messages?), like severe pain in the stomach, and his dull, repetitious responses as if nobody was actually taking notes, the same lies over and over. Talk about dulled down. What WAS he smoking in the green room? We all ask! One prominent doctor suspects he’s still connected to the choom gang; looked confused, bumbling, disinterested. Obie was totally NOT COOL. Mitt was speaking for all honest Americans elegant, simple truth.

Barack Obama has been the POTUS and Commander in Chief for four years. He should not have needed a second of preparation. Romney knew more about the Obama administration than Obama did. Obama is pathologically lazy. Obama suffers from the mental disorder of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Obama has skated through life , up until last night. And Obama's admitted history of drug use makes one wonder if he was back on the crack pipe again. His eyes looked so bizarre , I couldn't tell if the pupils were dilated from coke or constricted from some other drug. Street or prescription. No wonder he's hidden his college records and medical history.

In the Arena of Ideas Mitt came armed with facts, numbers, plans, common sense, the truth and the confidence that comes with all that. The Obamboozler finally showed us some of that transparency he bragged about when he up in his transparent robe of nothingness. The neked Marxist never had a chance.

Gov. Romney gave an oustanding performance, with facts to backup his points.Obamma at times was sulking lookind downwards not facing eye to eye with his opponent. It reminded me of a student having to stay in class after school and being tutored until he understood and got it right.CNN had a poll of registered voters and the score was Gov. Romney 67% Obama 25%.Perhaps you will now see less of the Romney should do this or that by the MSM and Fox News Chris Wallace, Brit Hume & Bret Baier's weighted left wing panel.Doubters will start listening to Dick Morris ,he had it right. I didn't watch the debate last night since I have an early work call but I rearranged my schedule to watch the Ryan/Plugs debate. It seems Our Lord was BOMBARDED with prayers for Mitt's performance and HE came through for us. Thank You, Father for watching over Mitt and giving him the right words and demeanor for the occasion. I have faith that our 'long, national nightmare' may really be coming to an end. The Lord also knows that Mitt will be a trustworthy ally for His people Israel.

I was so pleased by Romney's performance and that 0bama truly displayed the incompetent, empty poseur he is. Without his teleprompter he is nothing. Romney was strong, confident and had a strong grasp of all the facts and statistics that 0bama obviously lacked. For the first time in awhile I am feeling much better about the election. However, I do know that the 0bama regime is capable of anything and they will do anything to win so I remain on guard. I won't breath easy until we have won handily on November 6. I was disappointed I couldn't get on the Lucianne site last night only for a brief moment.

On the theme of Poster 70's "signs of the times," I live in a small heavily democrat city in blue Connecticut, and I still can't believe that I see Obama/Biden bumper stickers on cars. There are fewer, but still there. That made seeing a huge billboard's message near a gas station so heartening. It says, "OBAMA = The Entry Drug to SOCIALISM." The first and last word in bright red caps! Our newspaper identified a local businessman as behind it, with the comments section of the story full of sadness from liberals who had been boycotting the gas station, thinking the owner had put it up. Not working out, huh?

I now have some faith, not just in Romney's huge success last night, but just received an email from grandson who is a freshman at George Washington Univ. right in the middle of everything. He told me last night they were all going to watch the debates and that all the people were very political!! However, all of them agreed that Romney won! My dear grandson is voting for the first time in his life, at 18 and I hope he follows through and votes for the right man. Obama was a disgrace to the office of President.

When Romney made his joke to Obumbler after he made his 20 year anniversary shout out to his "sweety" I knew that Obama was in for it. Romney won the debate because he was relaxed, factual, sharp and he took it to Odumbo with the respect due to the office not the man. Everytime he talked to him he looked directly at him. The split takes told everything. Obama was looking down and dour and was stumbling while trying to be witty. He even gave Lehrer the help me look and when it was over he couldn't wait to leave the stage. Romney's best line was when he told DA WUUN that he's been a business man for 25 years and he didn't know what he was talking about. The look on Odummer's face was priceless. I can't wait for debate #2. Even with the townhall format the governor will smoke Ododo like a pack of menthol lights.

Great comments folks! Hey, when I turned on the TV this morning, the first thing I saw was Obama and his campaign people all trying to spin it back to his favor. He kept trying to claim that Romney had been saying for 18 months that he was going to cut $5 Trillion in taxes and give a $2 Trillion increase in defense spending. Yes, even after Romney said that wasn't his plan at all over 5 times. He also is still claiming that companies get breaks and incentives to send jobs overseas. Another lie. Finally, they are parsing words with regard to the independent council who makes decisions about coverage under Obamacare. Zero claims that the group cannot legally tell people what treatment they can or can't have. Well, of course, not specifically to each individual--but they do decide what courses are approved and not approved and under what circumstances they will be allowed. What is the difference in the long run? Nothing...they ARE still "death panels". That is the truth.

I want to see Biden's head taken off at the knees next week by Paul Ryan.
I loath Obama for what he is and what he stands for I simply loath Biden for who he is.
The progressives need to have their face rubbed in their own incompetence. You cannot be nice to them. They are irrational
Last night is probably the best example I've seen in years of what I mean when I say that the opposite of un-reason is not reason but force but force does not always equal violence. Mitt Romney FORCED the unreasonable left to look at themselves.
Obama was not unprepared. He knew his slogans. He just was not ready to confront truth. I was glad to see Sununu keeping up the attack this morning and calling Obama lazy. All leftist are morally lazy.
Also, notice that over night a whole raft of very good Romney adds have appeared on TV in various states

Romney knew exactly what he wanted and followed through on it.
He handled both Obama and Lehrer.
He was prepared, focused, and quick on his feet. I really doubt Obama is capable of the type of performance that Romney put on. I did not think Romney had that type of performance in him either. Nice to be proved wrong. Romney is formidable.
The first question was telling. Obama got to answer it first. When Romney's turn came, he gave multiple reasons why Obama was wrong. It went like that all evening.
When Obama lied or spouted nonsense, Romney did not let him slide even once.
Only thing the Dems can hope for is to get Romney off his game plan. Perhaps some question that Romney had not thought out in advance. Good luck with that.
If Romney stays on his game, the debates will be very painful for Obama and company.
November 6 is 'Impeach Obama' day. Send him packing, people! In a sane world, Obama should lose by 30-40 million votes, and get less than 40% of the vote.

While at the health club last night, happened to pick up the first half of the debate on CNN and they had the real tracking graph at the bottom that was showing how men and women were resonating depending which candidate was talking and what he was saying. THe women's curve always started peaking the minute Obie opened his mouth and it did not much matter what he said. In Romney's case, both the men and women's tracking curve would peak almost equally at time. WHile not very scientific, the tracking curve was interesting in regards to the groups that resonated with a candidate.

The Internal Revenue Service scandal would be bad enough if the IRS just handled issues like collecting income taxes and granting nonprofit status. But the immensely powerful federal agency is about to become even more powerful with the arrival of national health care, and that makes the still-unfolding scandal even more troubling. The structure created by the Affordable Care Act requires the government to know about both the health care coverage (or lack of it) and the financial resources of every American. The IRS, which already knows the latter, was the only

The debate is raging over whether the latest immigration bill is an amnesty for illegal immigrants, but one part is clear: The legislation would forgive businesses that have employed those immigrants illegally. Employers who have allowed illegal immigrants to work off the books can come forward safely and provide their work history without fear of prosecution, and businesses that knowingly employed someone using a bogus or stolen Social Security number likewise would get a pass, according to an analysis of the bill by the Center for Immigration Studies, a think tank that wants a crackdown on immigration.

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

The Boy Scouts of America today voted to lift its longtime ban on admitting gay Scouts but will continue to exclude openly gay adults from leadership roles. The vote by its 1,400 national membership came as no surprise to gay rights advocates, who hailed it as a first step to ending discriminatory practices in the 103-year-old organization. The ruling by secret ballot at a national convention in Dallas means that mothers like Jennifer Tyrrell, who is a lesbian, will still be excluded from the Boy Scouts.
