TAMPA, Fl - The Pinellas County Sheriffs Office is asking for the public's help identifying the woman in the pictures climbing on top of the manatee this past weekend at Ft. Desoto. Reports say this all happened around 1pm Sunday afternoon, just north of the Gulf pier. Whitnesses in the area were able to give officers a good description along with the pictures of the suspect and where she was last seen. The woman is wanted for violating the state Manatee Sancturary Act which states that it is unlawful for any person, at any time by any means or

Comments:
("Accosting" is misspelled in the headline.) Manatees are arriving back in the Bay Area after summering in the Caribbean. It's always a pleasure to see these huge, slow moving animals. People should never try to touch them. This woman is in beaucoup deep kimchee.

Racist! Racist!

That is one very stupid whale.
And the manatee wasn't too smart to swim that close to shore, either.

PALM HARBOR - A father backed over his 2½-year-old daughter Wednesday evening with a riding lawn mower, severing her feet at the ankles and injuring her left hand. Jeremiah Nugent, 47, was cutting the lawn and about to park the mower in the garage when his wife, Nicole, 31, came out of the house, waving her hands at him, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff´s Office. Nugent thought she was trying to tell him he was about to drive over something, so he put the mower in reverse, the sheriff´s office said. He kept backing up until he realized

The hit HBO series "Girls," which is wildly popular with 20-something audiences, is also notorious for its frank portrayals of the dark side of the casual-sex culture reigning among America´s young adults. In the first season of the show, the main character, Hannah (played by Lena Dunham), finds herself in a dysfunctional relationship with an actor, Adam, whom she regularly sleeps with but isn´t dating in the traditional sense. She really likes him, though, so she asks him one day, during intercourse, "You want me to call you?" His response is to push her head down into a pillow.

Just over a week ago, they were two little boys living with their grandparents and their family dog, Nati, in Tampa, Florida. That was then. First, police say Chase and Cole Hakken´s father broke into the home and tied up the boys´ grandmother before whisking the two children away -- just a day after he and the boys´ mother officially lost their parental rights. The 2- and 4-year-old boys ended up sailing to Cuba with their parents, triggering an international manhunt that ended this week. Chase and Cole are now back in Tampa, trying to resume their life with Nati

The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia has recently decreed that all churches in the Arabian Peninsula must be destroyed. “The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia is the most senior and most influential Sunni Muslim religious and legal authority in Saudi Arabia … His main role is to give opinions (fatwas) on legal matters and on social affairs. The Saudi court system is heavily influenced by the opinions of the Grand Mufti.” The Grand Mufti seems to have missed President Obama’s “New Beginning” Cairo speech. On that occasion the newly elected President showcased his personal knowledge of that faith.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
