Stock Market May Be Headed
for Rude Shock This Month

CNBC, by Maria Bartiromo

Original Article

Posted By:BaseballFan, 10/2/2012 2:42:26 PM

The focus on fundamentals is about to begin. For the last three months, investors have been ignoring the weak economic backdrop and plowing money into stocks because of the cheap money swirling from central banks around the world. Investors are searching for yield in an environment of rock bottom rates. But judgment day is coming. (Snip) Things are seen picking back up in the fourth quarter, with overall earnings growth expected at nearly 10 percent — but many sources I speak to are questioning such a bounce from negative to double-digit growth.

Let's see, earnings lower, taxes higher (by a lot), I think there is something wrong here.

The stock markets were going up based on the belief there would be more action on Spain, that is, more massive bailouts. Free money. There is no terrific business news to justify a rapidly rising market but there is a sufficient bubble for bad news to burst it.

There's basically no place else to put money if you are trying to make a return on investment. Real estate is shaky, bank interest rates are a joke, and starting a new business will earn the wrath of the government. The market will eventually correct itself (it always does).

Reply 4 - Posted by: Safari Man, 10/2/2012 3:35:04 PM     (No. 8904824)

The stock market right now is a bubble pumped full of very hot hydrogen gas, thanks to Ben "Dover" Bernanke (per request of Barry 'Em Obama). Europe is a powder keg. Obama is breaking all sorts of laws trying to keep his campaign afloat. Economists are saying we're already in recession -- Apple sold 50% of the expected number of iPhone 5's if you need a metric to gauge the consumer sentiment.

When this goes, oh the humanity... the humanity.

America is still the best place for the world to invest, so all those inflated dollars will end up here in our stock market.

Mitt Romney is about to win the presidency by a 5-10 point margin.

Go long, Henny Penny.

William Strickland waited for his grandfather to step out of his South Side home to take his paratransit ride to a kidney dialysis appointment early March 2, authorities said Saturday — then stood behind the 72-year-old man, shot him six times in the back and stole his wallet, leaving him to die just steps from his home. Prosecutors said Saturday that Strickland, 19, used the money he took from his grandfather, who also was named William Strickland, to pay for new gym shoes, a cellphone and tattoos. The teen had no criminal history but was an admitted gang member, they said.

The Second Amendment´s guarantee of a right to bear arms does not extend to the right to carry a concealed weapon in public, a federal appeals court in Denver has ruled. "We conclude that the carrying of concealed firearms is not protected by the Second Amendment . . ." Justice Carlos Lucero wrote on behalf of a three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Lucero cited case law dating to the 1800s that put restrictions on walking around in public with a gun. A year ago, as the Baltimore Ravens under coach John Harbaugh and San Francisco 49ers under coach Jim Harbaugh advanced through the NFL playoffs, there was talk of a potential brother-vs-brother Super Bowl – a “Harbowl,” as some sportswriters had begun calling it. Roy Fox of Pendleton, Indiana, is an ordinary football fan who had an idea: make T-shirts and hats with the word “Harbowl” on them, and sell them for some extra cash in case these brothers did ever meet up in a future Super Bowl. Mr. Fox remembered how Lakers Coach Pat Riley famously made money by trademarking

But that won´t stop security from being just as tight - only this time, with some improvements. And even with the smaller crowd, if you want to get to the National Mall on Inauguration Day, you´re probably better off not driving. The hundreds of thousands of people spilling into the nation's capital Monday are encouraged to travel by rail, bus or bicycle. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
