| ‘Promised Land,” a new movie from Matt Damon and John Krasinski, attacks fracking — a new way of getting oil and gas out of the ground, which has become the latest villain of the environmental movement. Last week, I revealed the film’s co-writers, Damon and Krasinski, have gone to enormous lengths to twist the narrative to make American energy corporations the villain. At the time, their efforts could be just passed off as just another Hollywood leftist fantasy to explain why the world is not how they think it should be. But now a more sinister possibility has emerged.

Every time I read or hear anything about Matt Damon or Ben Affleck, I think about the (supposedly) brilliant, Oscar winning "Good Will Hunting," (supposedly)written by these mental midgets when they were only in their 20's. Has anyone but me ever questioned who really wrote that script? Has anything they've done or said since indicated their (supposed) genius? Kind of like Obama and "Dreams...."?

The Gang of Eight — four Democratic and four Republican U.S. senators — have been meeting behind closed doors since January to produce “comprehensive immigration reform.” That will mean a multi-thousand-page bill that no one reads. You know the saying “fool me twice.” Americans got bamboozled in 2010, when the 2,572 page Obama health law was rushed through Congress unread. The surprises buried in that law are causing havoc. Denver-based CNN journalist Jim Spellman says the total lack of media coverage of the legal travails faced by Fox News reporter Jana Winter for protecting her sources clearly demonstrates an anti-Fox News bias in the press. Spellman claimed in a tweet that if Winter, who faces a subpoena and potential contempt of court charges for protecting her sources, worked for the New York Times instead of Fox News, the case would be garnering far greater exposure. “Observation: If @janawinter, who may go to jail to protect sources, worked for @nytimes instead of @FoxNews the case would be huge,” Spellman tweeted Sunday night.

Secretary of State John Kerry is worth some $200 million, give or take a yacht. So his decision to slap a 5% pay cut on himself in solidarity with government employees squeezed by sequestration won’t likely hurt him much. In March, the number of Americans who dropped out of the labor force increased by 663,000 which adds up to a record 90 million Americans who are no longer looking for employment. A new CNN/ORC International poll found President Obama´s overall approval rating has ticked up to 51 percent but ratings have fallen on his handling of the key issues on his agenda: immigration, guns, and the deficit. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius conceded Monday that implementing the Affordable Care Act has been more complicated and frustrating than the Obama administration expected, largely due to Republicans who have opposed the law´s state-based exchanges and Medicaid expansion.
