WashPost Ombudsman Takes Conservative Side: Post Opinion Pages Too Dominated by Liberals

| Washington Post ombudsman Patrick Pexton explored conservative dissatisfaction with the national news in polls and then wondered if the Post’s own columnist corps didn’t lean dramatically to the left: “The Post should first be about news without slant. If The Post wants to wrap its news in commentary, fine, but shouldn’t some of those voices then be conservative?” He listed all the “progressives” the Post was planting throughout the paper: With the exception of Dan Balz and Chris Cillizza, who cover politics in a nonpartisan way [?], the news columnists almost to a person write from left of center.

Chris and Dan are partisan left of center at least 90% of the time. They may not be as leftward as the rest, but they lean to the left. Go back to read some of Chris' columns on Gov. Palin----quite partisan and not towards her.

So, they have finally realized that their ship is sinking, with some beginning to see the water seeping in. Don't tell EJ. He will be devastated. .... Going to try being honest for a change? Going to begin to publish the actual news which is usualy hidden in the practice of lies by omission? Going to give both sides a say?
Frankly, Patrick, it's too late to regain any respect or trust. You and yours blew it.

The Democrat National Committee and Obama White House will recommend a new replacement for the post of Ombudsman at the Washington Post.

Don't bet on this. We are being set up. Nothing coming out of the WaPo is true and without purpose, including criticism by one of their own.
This is a "Well, were gonna change. We've heard our guy. From now on, you can believe EVERYTHING we say".

What we need are defectors from the Democrat party who are willing to admit publicly that, no, Obama has not "failed" to fix the economy, he was out to destroy it from the beginning. That is the admission that Dare Not Speak Its Name and would expose the very core of their charade. Some Democrat with a conscience left - please step forward and tell us the ugly truth about your party and Obama's intentions, before it's too late.

What is important here is the effect of a piece like this on the liberals out there - and on those who hang out in the middle, those who are undecided about which candidate they will vote for.
This may be quite a revelation to them. Something that makes them stop and think. Or in the case of the liberals, makes them realize their echo chamber has been outed.

To my eyes and ears, our so-called mainstream media lost its credibility by sullying its integrity many years ago, long before BHO first insinuated himself onto the national stage. At the very least, they could have redeemed themselves by properly and thoroughly vetting him in 2008 or even before that. Never have the words “it’s not the crime, it’s the coverup” been more appropriate.

Yashoda Gurung said she wanted her mother to have the baby. But Karnamaya Mongar was insistent: after 20 years living in tin-roofed huts in a Nepal refugee camp, with three children, and just four months in the United States in Woodbridge, Va., another baby would be too much. "She said, ´We´re just getting started here,´" Gurung testified today. So, about 16 weeks pregnant and rejected by two women´s clinics in Virginia and one in Washington, Mongar, Gurung and her mother-in-law, and Mongar´s brother Damber Ghalley headed for Philadelphia on Nov. 19, 2009 to the clinic of Kermit Gosnell.

Vice President Biden exaggerates when he waxes nostalgic about the “good old days” — a time when “everybody, including the NRA, thought background checks made sense.” Biden’s office says he was referring to the NRA’s support for background checks in the early 1990s and its stated support for expanding background checks to include gun shows in 1999. But vice president’s sentimental journey rides roughshod over the facts: •In 1991, the NRA endorsed legislation creating a national system of “instant background checks” as an alternative to a seven-day waiting period contained in the proposed

PHILADELPHIA -Yashoda Gurung´s (guh-RUNGZ) family survived 20 years in a refugee camp after fleeing war-torn Bhutan. But her mother died months after arriving in the U.S. in 2009 and seeking a legal abortion in Philadelphia. Karnamaya (kar-nuh-MAY´-uh) Mongar´s overdose death is the subject of one of eight murder counts in the ongoing trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell. The 72-year-old Gosnell is also charged with killing seven babies born alive. Through a translator, the 24-year-old Gurung testified Tuesday about the labor-inducing drugs and painkillers her mother was given as she waited hours for Gosnell to arrive for the procedure.

President Obama will meet with Sens. John McCain, Arizona Republican, and Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, on immigration reform Tuesday afternoon at the White House. The White House added the meeting to the president’s schedule hastily as the bipartisan group of senators known as the “Gang of Eight” delayed for a day a press conference about the introduction of their proposed immigration reform bill, largely due to the tragedy in Boston. On Monday, the White House said a plan by Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, that would allow illegal immigrants to become citizens after

The U.S. Geological Survey put the preliminary magnitude of the earthquake at 7.8 and at a depth of nine miles, and Iran´s seismological center said it was centered near Saravan, a sparsely populated area about 26 miles from the Pakistani border. State-run Pakistan TV said at least six people were killed on its side of the border and at least 47 others were injured. Up to 1,000 mud homes were damaged, it added.

In the immediate aftermath of the tragic Newtown murders, Obama and His Media joined forces to exploit the deaths of innocent children for all it was worth -- with a series of laws that would have done absolutely nothing to stop the very crime they were exploiting. This naked political move to leverage the murder of innocents as an excuse to attack the National Rifle Association and gun owners who live predominantly in red states, is about as cynical and craven as it gets. According to Politico, though, all this soul selling is likely to come to nothing.

This week´s Mainstream Media Scream features "Today Show" hosts rewriting history to call Ronald Reagan liberal by today´s political standards. Co-host Willie Geist: "Three in four Americans today thought our country was better off in the ´80s than it is now. Three in four. ... If a presidential election were held today, according to this survey, 58 percent would vote for Ronald Reagan over President Barack Obama." Weatherman Al Roker: "But the interesting thing is a lot of people probably -- I mean Ronald Reagan probably would be seen almost liberally today as opposed to being a conservative."

LONDON- The chimes of Big Ben, one of London´s best-known landmarks, will be silenced during former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher´s funeral, officials say. John Bercow, speaker of the House of Commons, announced the plan Monday, The Guardian reported. He said silencing the clock, formally the Great Clock of Westminster, is a way for Parliament to show its respect. "I believe that there can be a profound dignity and deep respect expressed in and through silence and I´m sure that the house will agree," he said.
