Maybe it's time for some local school districts to tell the food nazis to keep their bloomin' reimbursement dollars. Don't know why I'm getting so worked up about it tho, we avoided this kind of lunacy by home-schooling.

If parents really cared about their children's lunches, they would pack them. If teenage athletes are not getting enough, they would pack food.

The lunch ladies should ignore the guidelines and start feeding the kids the second portions they want. If the feds don't like it then arrest them, they may cut the schools funds but just say they were penalized because they fed the children.

As a former lunch lady, I can say with authority- kids dont like school food! I tried to enhance flavors with spices- approved of course- but institutional cooking is not that tasty.
I also had an athlete child, fed homemade lunches to ensure kiddo got enough calories. Now, wait till kiddos are forced to eat federal food- not fair to have better lunch or more food than classmates.

When a dumb heifer like Moochelle makes the guidelines, you can bet that no thinking was involved (read her Princeton thesis and see). Contrary to the stated result they're after, this encourages just the opposite. When people do not get their required calories, the body compensates. You crave calorically dense foods because your body thinks it is starving. These teens are running home and eating a huge bag of chips or doritoes and a few candy bars. And then, instead of burning fat for fuel - your body burns muscle - saving the fat stores in case the starvation continues. Who in the hell advises these libtards?

The solution is to end the federal school lunch program, period.

Hey #1 I'm married to a lunch lady! She has been a lunch lady for 35 years and can't stand what they are trying to pull. She's so ticked off she doesn't think she can take another year. Was trying to get to be 65 and retire, but may just chuck it and get out this year. The lunch program used to be well liked by the kids, but now, not only because of the federal food rules, but because of the, hurry up only one lunch period, kids are not eating at all. I wonder if they will appoint a food monitor to make sure the kids eat?

Parents, just say no!

Our kids are grown, but had this occurred back then, I would have definitely defied the rules.

Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education, wants to feed all kids breakfast in school, regardless of financial need. He thinks this way the poor kids won't be "stigmatized."

Parents, remember whose children they are. They aren't the government's.

I have a great idea. Let the parents feed their own kids, shut down all the food programs. Don't want to hear about hungry kids, their moms are getting food stamps.

Lunch ladies, unite. Do a "Hebrew midwives" revolt. When I was in high school in the '70's we seldom bought lunch, but the few special occasions we did, it was quite good. Then came the "airline lunches". Fortunately, I was out by then, but my kids had to endure it.
