For 0bama to suggest looser mortgage standards tells me he is either ignorant or incompetent. It was the democrats who forced banks to loan to people with no job, no income, and no means to pay for the huge houses these deadbeats bought. The taxpayers got stuck paying for all the "bad" loans, and 0bama once again wants to do this. Right now we have a Trillion dollars out in student loans which the government has backed, these students will never pay this money back. We have Ally which owned 75% by the government giving loans to deadbeats for new cars, and these people pay nothing down, 0% interest, and these deadbeats will never pay back the money. 0bama really does not understand economics, or is it that that he understands that if he provides all this FREE stuff, these deadbeats will vote for him? But remember, you, the taxpayer will be paying off all this debt.

This is not a simple financial issue with a lot of homeowners. I saw a segment where a couple both had jobs and were way behind on their mortgage,thinking it was only fair they got a free house. This is more about the entitlement crowd than people with bad luck on their jobs,who I wouldn't mind helping.

Getting free ride mortgages is becoming ingrained into the culture.If these people can't afford their homes,send them to the library to check out Craigslist on rentals.

Headline is misleading. Obama's weekly address today was about letting current mortgage holders refinance without first being delinquent, even if they are underwater.

This seems to me a good idea, actually quite modest among the various ideas that are floating around out there. What it does is route Fed money to homeowners instead of banks. Well, actually, what it does is cover the banks for relieving the homeowners, so they get some, too.

It's probably a good idea.
