| Mitt Romney is not going to win the White House if he doesn’t speak in plain terms about the true nature of this election campaign. That is, if Romney doesn’t stand up and point out the obvious--that he’s not going one on one with Barack Obama, but rather one on two, with Obama being helped by the Main Stream Media--then he has no chance of rallying the support he needs to win the election. In a football game, a team can’t win if the referees are helping the other team. And in the Romney vs. Obama Bowl, the refs

The diagnosis is right; the prescription is wrong. Any attack on the MSM's treatment of Mitt will be seen as whining, regardless of naming names. The only name Mitt needs to name is Barrack Husein Obama: a lying loser who wants to bring America down to 2nd or 3rd world status.

If Romney wasn't aware going into this race that he would face a hostile media, he wasn't...and isn'...tough enough for a Presidential campaign, which is exactly what I suspected all along. What does he think all those campaign donations are meant to buy, pizza for the staff? Mitt needs to purchase the air time himself and get the truth out there in a PR blitzkrieg. Sadly, I'm not going to hold my breath 'til he does.

The ONLY reason Newt didn't win was his personal baggage in the primary season. His scolding of Wolf and King in the debates were met with rousing applause of affection.
Romney has to fight fire with fire. No holds barred.....get in their face on both fronts! Attack the media, attack bamster, and let the chips fall where they may!
He will come out a chicken dinner winner if he does this, because the MSM is going to attack him no matter what he does. Get it?!!! PLAY OFFENSE, MITT!!

What #3, #4, and #7 said. I like Pat Caddell but if Mitt Romney attacks the "media", of course they will say he is "whining". Not gonna happen. IMO, Mitt Romney is campaigning and saying exactly what he should say about what is going on with the current slacker-in-chief. Perhaps if some of the pundits wishing to advise him actually listened to him, instead of sitting at the computer writing about what he should or shouldn't do or say, they'd know that. As has been said, he has been to Israel, spoken to Netanyahu several times, as well as meeting with him. Mitt Romney was the first one to come out after the death of our Ambassador in Libya and was proven to be right. Don't know what else he can do to make some people happy with him. I believe he is doing fine and will hand obama his skinny rear-end at the Debates!

...of course Pat is right, but lets remember that many of us are political junkies who wanted action long ago, but the average voter has an attention span that lasts two or three weeks and right now, Mitt is probably enjoying the stew that is coming out of Washington the past week...
...as we head into October, I trust the heat will rise and I can see the debates being an opportunity for Mitt to strike with a large audience, that if done right, sets the tone for the news cycles that follow...
...all the "white noise" of the two weeks should start having it's effect in the next week...the boy won-duh can't keep running from it...americans don't like being lied to...

The Democrats proposed sequestration as part of a package to secure an increase in the debt ceiling, but they never expected it to go into effect. When it did, they felt double-crossed, apparently because they thought Republicans owed it to them to fold like a cheap suit, as usual. When the Republicans figured out that sticking with the sequester was a pretty good outcome–it represented a modest, but real, restraint on federal spending, which is what Republicans always say they want–the Democrats went to Plan B. It’s a strategy they have often used before: cut back

BOSTON — Two college friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who were jailed by immigration authorities the day after his capture had nothing to do with the deadly attack and had seen no hints that he harbored any violent thoughts or terrorist sympathies, a lawyer for one of them said Friday. Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, who are from Kazakhstan, were classmates with Tsarnaev at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. They appeared alongside him in a recent photograph of a group of young men visiting New York City´s Times Square

A steep slowdown in defense spending tied to the end of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is undercutting the country’s economic recovery, new government data released Friday revealed. The report showed gross domestic product grew at an annual rate of 2.5 percent during the first three months of the year — significantly slower than most economists had expected. The culprit? A surprising 11.5 percent annualized drop-off in military spending. The decline comes on the heels of an even bigger plunge in defense spending at the end of last year that brought economic growth to a standstill. Taken together

After Netflix’s blockbuster earnings sent its stock soaring this week, the company’s chief executive made a bold prediction: TV as we know it is coming to an end. Billions of people around the world will abandon remote controls and begin tapping video apps across an array of devices, Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings said. They will choose what to watch like they order food off an a-la-carte menu rather than be force-fed hundreds of channels. Instead of CBS, NBC and ABC, a new set of names will dominate, he said.

The Senate took the first step toward circumventing sequestration Thursday night with a bipartisan vote that would put furloughed air traffic controllers back on the job. The House is expected to take up the measure Friday, and the White House has promised to consider any bill which it receives. The Senate vote came in response to passengers angered this week by long delays at several major airports. If the Senate bill wins House approval and is signed into law by President Obama, the furloughed controllers are not expected to return to work before Saturday

Influential House conservatives signaled Thursday that they will pursue their own course on revising the nation’s immigration laws, a move that some lawmakers warned could derail a comprehensive overhaul that President Obama has made a top priority for his second term. A week after a bipartisan Senate group introduced an 844-page immigration proposal backed by the White House, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) said he would chart a narrower path by introducing several small-scale immigration proposals this week that will begin months

DALLAS The dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum here has been an occasion for both friends and critics of the former president to press their case. According to the polls, the number of critics has fallen over time. They make up for it with enthusiasm. I fall into the friend category, having worked for President Bush for several years beginning early in the 2000 campaign. There are a number of reasons to join a presidential campaign, not least of which is the main-stage, high-wire excitement. But I can recall the day I decided

Clare Boothe Luce liked to say that “a great man is one sentence.” Presidents, in particular. The most common “one sentence” for George W. Bush is: “He kept us safe.” Not quite right. With Bush’s legacy being reassessed as his presidential library opens in Dallas, it’s important to note that he did not just keep us safe. He created the entire anti-terror infrastructure that continues to keep us safe. That homage was paid, wordlessly, by Barack Obama, who vilified Bush’s anti-terror policies as a candidate, then continued them as president

In retrospect, George W. Bush’s legacy doesn’t look as bad as it did when he left office. It looks worse. I join the nation in congratulating Bush on the opening of his presidential library in Dallas. Like many people, I find it much easier to honor, respect and even like the man — now that he’s no longer in the White House. But anyone tempted to get sentimental should remember the actual record of the man who called himself The Decider. Begin with the indelible stain that one of his worst decisions left on our country’s honor: torture.

The Wall Street Journal reports that federal investigators trying to question the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing were unhappy with the decision to read the suspect his Miranda rights after just 16 hours of communicating with him. The Justice Department had delayed doing so under a “public safety” exemption, and apparently didn’t feel that this had yet expired when the judge read him his rights, after which he stopped communicating with law-enforcement officials. The Journal: A federal judge made the call to advise the Boston bombing suspect of his Miranda rights, even though

WAGENFELD, Germany — Germany has one of the most robust green movements in the world, but economic pressures are tempting it to try something critics say would harm the Earth: shale gas drilling. Motivated by a rapid-fire increase in natural gas production in the United States, German business leaders and some politicians say they need to act quickly to prevent the country’s industrial core from departing for places where energy is just a fraction of the price. They worry that the country’s ambitious environmental goals are far less meaningful if the economy withers in achieving them.

The Patrick administration clamped down the lid yesterday on Herald requests for details of Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s government benefits, citing the dead terror mastermind’s right to privacy. Across the board, state agencies flatly refused to provide information about the taxpayer-funded lifestyle for the 26-year-old man and his brother and accused accomplice Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19. On EBT card status or spending, state welfare spokesman Alec Loftus would only say Tamerlan Tsarnaev, his wife and 3-year-old daughter received benefits that ended in 2012. He declined further comment.

Two unnamed U.S. officials have told the Associated Press that the surviving suspect in the Boston bombings was unarmed when police captured him hiding inside a boat in a neighborhood back yard. The report contradicts the Boston police department´s own account of Dzhokar Tsarnaev´s capture on Friday - after commissioner Ed Davies described a firefight between him and officers before the terror suspect was captured. The New York Times also said an M4 rifle had been found on the boat - another claim contradicted by the latest revelations. Officers had originally said they had exchanged gunfire

He said that establishing legal status for the nation’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants is a “matter of civil and human rights.” “Creating a pathway to earned citizenship for the 11 million unauthorized immigrants in this country is essential,” Holder said to applause. “The way we treat our friends and neighbors who are undocumented by creating a mechanism for

Since the Boston bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was captured, there’s been quite a debate over his Miranda rights and how to treat him — given that he’s a United States citizen. An Associated Press report out this morning is sure to add fuel to the fire. As soon as he was read his Miranda rights, it says, Tsarnaev stopped talking. The report notes that Tsarnaev was read his rights 16 hours after his interrogation had began. Then, he fell silent: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev immediately stopped talking after a magistrate judge and a representative from the U.S. Attorney’s office entered his

At the White House. By himself. No press or other intruders allowed. That Obama assumed Americans would want an iconic photo of him privately mourning the victims of the bombings was emblematic of a kind of hubris that has enveloped the president and his White House as the president commences his second term.

The new logo for the University of Connecticut’s sports teams is a terrifying husky dog that calls to mind images of sexual assault, says one student. The new logo was unveiled last week, receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from UConn fans who preferred the older, cuter husky dog. But one student went much further, criticizing the new, meaner logo for being a pro-rape symbol. In an open letter to UC President Susan Herbst, self-described feminist student Carolyn Luby wrote that the redesigned team logo will intimidate women and empower rape culture. UConn basketball coach Geno Auriemma said the logo

As Obamacare was winding its way through the Senate in 2009, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) slipped in an amendment requiring that members of Congress, and their staff, enroll in Obamacare’s health insurance exchanges. The idea was simple: that if Congress was going to impose Obamacare upon the country, it should have to experience what it is imposing firsthand. But now, word comes that Congress is quietly seeking to rescind that provision of the law, because members fear that staffers who face higher insurance costs will leave the Hill. The news has sparked outrage

The one clear thing that came out of last week´s chaotic activity in Boston, Massachusetts is that real reporters were missing. For that matter, they´ve been missing since last year´s attack in Benghazi. From Benghazi, the Gosnell abortion trial, gun control debates, immigration and then the Boston Marathon bombings, television news reporting has become positively painful to watch. The First Amendment to the Constitution grants freedom of the press but this was supposed to endow it with a responsibility to be the people´s watchdog. The modern Fourth Estate represented by the mainstream media has made a mockery of this privilege.
