One certain forecast in U.S.
poll dispute: more acrimony ahead

Reuters, by Patricia Zengerle

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 9/28/2012 5:34:58 PM

It has become the new battle cry for Republicans: All the polls showing Mitt Romney trailing by big margins are just wrong because pollsters are interviewing too many Democrats. Surveys showing President Barack Obama leading nationally by 5 to 7 points, and even more in swing states, have come under fire from the Romney campaign and conservatives who accuse polling companies of misjudging their data at best, (Snip) While pollsters say the Republicans are griping because they are losing, the kernel of the conservatives' complaints - that pollsters frequently survey more Democrats than Republicans - is true.

NO! They are NOT interviewing too many Democrats. That is the freaking problem. They are pumping up the number of blacks, democrats, Hispanics and college kids to CREATE more Democrats.

It is NOT oversampling of Democrats that is the problem. It is that there are not ENOUGH Democrats to make the pollsters happy, so they take the democrat number and add anywhere from 4 to 12 per cent more.

The real problem is that there are too many darn polls. We don't need daily polls from multiple mainstream media "news" outlets. And who pays for all these polls?

Polls at this point in the election are taken only to influence behavior. The media wants to depress the opposition day after day so they give up and don't vote. The polls that will mean anything will be just before the election so polling firms can retain their credibility for the next election.
I refuse to believe the polls at this point. I will place my faith on the electorate from 2010 still chomping at the bit to give our dictator the boot. Nothing has changed to make the citizens like Obama any better than they did in 2010.

Look, the fact that the (mainstream) media keeps (2nd or 3rd story i have seen this week)reporting on this is very good news. Due to Drudge, Lucianne, Breitbart, and other sources of online media and social media- they are being FORCED to address this issue. Of course they point out the "myth" of what the Conservatives are saying and then try and convince the reader that there is no bias in the polls. They are playing defense on this issue, and that means they are losing.

Why doesn't Reuters interview president Kerry and ask him how it felt to be elected from all the polling done in 2004.

I drove to work today (50 min drive) was checking out the yard signs. There was 1 Obama sign and 28 Mitts signs. I live in northeast Ohio, high democratic area, even the yards with a lot of local dems signs had no Obama signs.

#8, I don't even know where you can get Mitt yard signs. I ordered 4 from Romney's web site over a month ago. Nothing. E-mailed them 5 times. Nothing. Every time they call (2X/week) I complain that I don't have my yard signs. Nothing.

Hopefully that means that Mitt is already over the top, but I'd prefer to get the yard signs that I paid for.

Reuters' Patricia Zengerle claims the poll bias is "random" and based on "voter registers".
However, except for Gallup, every poll on the RCP average is of LV's, likely voters, not random people or registered voters, but part of a deliberate "model".
And you know what other poll is of Likely Voters: Reuters/Ipsos' own!
They think you are stupid.
That this is the best explanation Reuters can offer proves the polls are unreliable.

An interesting moment from today´s quick Oval Office press availability with President Obama: PRESIDENT OBAMA: Okay. BERLIN— They were feasts of sublime asparagus — laced with fear. And for more than half a century, Margot Woelk kept her secret hidden from the world, even from her husband. Then, a few months after her 95th birthday, she revealed the truth about her wartime role: Adolf Hitler´s food taster. Woelk, then in her mid-twenties, spent two and a half years as one of 15 young women who sampled Hitler´s food to make sure it wasn´t poisoned before it was served to the Nazi leader in his "Wolf´s Lair," the heavily guarded command center

During a speech this morning at the Planned Parenthood gala, President Obama vowed he would never allow Republicans to cut taxpayer funds for the abortion provider. “If there’s one thing the past few years have shown is that Planned Parenthood isn’t going anywhere,” Obama said as the crowd cheered. “It’s not going anywhere today, It’s not going anywhere tomorrow.” Obama was wildly received by the audience when he entered the room - the first sitting president to address the nation’s largest abortion provider. “Everybody sit down,” Obama said sheepishly. “You’re making me blush.”

After flooding filled the basement vault of a Northfield bank, William Hielscher arrived to inventory the contents of his mother´s safe-deposit box — one of a few hundred that had been exposed to floodwaters several days earlier. Chase bank employees led him past a security guard, behind a floor-to-ceiling plastic curtain and down some stairs into a humid, rank-smelling room. There, workers wearing disposable gloves gingerly drained dirty water from his safe-deposit box, then photographed the contents under the watchful eye of bank employees. Joe Scarborough is a gun control advocate who considers himself the sane type of conservative — a point he makes clear on a nearly daily basis. Last night, Fox News host Sean Hannity, alongside guest Brent Bozell, spent a segment criticizing Scarborough for both his gun stance and self-professed conservatism. This morning, Scarborough acknowledged the critics in a rather characteristic way. Earlier in the discussion, Scarborough followed up on the scolding he gave Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (N-ND) for her “pathetic” vote against expanded background checks. After getting off air, he recalled with an amused laugh,

Churchill will replace social reformer Elizabeth Fry on the banknote. Bank of England Gov. Sir Mervyn King announced the new banknote from Churchill´s former home of Chartwell, in Westerham, Kent.

With a quicksilver warble that captured the devastation of bad love George Jones defined country music like no other singer in the 20th century. Jones´ voice was instantly identifiable, a fluid and expressive thing that famously prompted Frank Sinatra to call him "the second best singer in America." Jones lived as hard as the songs he sang, a dedicated drinker and tempestuous partner who was married four times, finally finding redemption and lasting love in his final decades. The Saratoga native - who cut his teeth in Beaumont and cut his earliest singles in Houston - died Friday.

Or if, as alleged by some who knew him, he was angered by U.S. military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, those grievances have been widely aired, analyzed and discussed in every facet. Tsarnaev’s name and that of his younger brother, Dzhokhar, have dominated headlines for more than a week, elevating the young men and whatever political motives they might have had to worldwide notoriety. A 26-year-old Chinese entrepreneur has spoken about his life-threatening meeting with the Boston bombers after they carjacked his Mercedes last Thursday evening. The incident occurred at almost 11p.m. when the man, who has asked to only be identified by his American nickname Danny, had just pulled his car to the curb on Brighton Avenue, Boston. While Danny was texting, a man in dark clothes approached his car and knocked on the window. Before the driver could react the man had unlocked the door, climbed in and was brandishing a silver handgun, according to the Boston Globe.

The Patrick administration clamped down the lid yesterday on Herald requests for details of Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s government benefits, citing the dead terror mastermind’s right to privacy. Across the board, state agencies flatly refused to provide information about the taxpayer-funded lifestyle for the 26-year-old man and his brother and accused accomplice Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19. On EBT card status or spending, state welfare spokesman Alec Loftus would only say Tamerlan Tsarnaev, his wife and 3-year-old daughter received benefits that ended in 2012. He declined further comment.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev is telling no tales. The older of the two brothers who committed the Boston Marathon bombings was likely the one who planned the attack, but when he died in a shootout with police just days after the blasts, his thoughts and motivations vanished with him. But the brain that was home to his angry mind remains, and in this case that may mean something. Tsarnaev was an amateur boxer who won the New England Golden Gloves competition as recently as 2009 and 2010. That speaks to a young man with a healthy sense

Since the Boston bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was captured, there’s been quite a debate over his Miranda rights and how to treat him — given that he’s a United States citizen. An Associated Press report out this morning is sure to add fuel to the fire. As soon as he was read his Miranda rights, it says, Tsarnaev stopped talking. The report notes that Tsarnaev was read his rights 16 hours after his interrogation had began. Then, he fell silent: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev immediately stopped talking after a magistrate judge and a representative from the U.S. Attorney’s office entered his

The new logo was unveiled last week, receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from UConn fans who preferred the older, cuter husky dog. In an open letter to UC President Susan Herbst, self-described feminist student Carolyn Luby wrote that the redesigned team logo will intimidate women and empower rape culture. As Obamacare was winding its way through the Senate in 2009, Sen. The idea was simple: that if Congress was going to impose Obamacare upon the country, it should have to experience what it is imposing firsthand. But now, word comes that Congress is quietly seeking to rescind that provision of the law, because members fear that staffers who face higher insurance costs will leave the Hill. The one clear thing that came out of last week´s chaotic activity in Boston, Massachusetts is that real reporters were missing. For that matter, they´ve been missing since last year´s attack in Benghazi. From Benghazi, the Gosnell abortion trial, gun control debates, immigration and then the Boston Marathon bombings, television news reporting has become positively painful to watch. The First Amendment to the Constitution grants freedom of the press but this was supposed to endow it with a responsibility to be the people´s watchdog. The modern Fourth Estate represented by the mainstream media has made a mockery of this privilege.

In retrospect, George W. Bush’s legacy doesn’t look as bad as it did when he left office. It looks worse. I join the nation in congratulating Bush on the opening of his presidential library in Dallas. Like many people, I find it much easier to honor, respect and even like the man — now that he’s no longer in the White House. But anyone tempted to get sentimental should remember the actual record of the man who called himself The Decider. Begin with the indelible stain that one of his worst decisions left on our country’s honor: torture.
