London - More than 100 million people will die and global economic growth will be cut by 3.2 per cent of gross domestic product by 2030 if the world fails to tackle climate change, a report commissioned by 20 governments said on Wednesday. As global average temperatures rise due to greenhouse gas emissions, the effects on the planet, such as melting ice caps, extreme weather, drought and rising sea levels, will threaten populations and livelihoods, said the report conducted by humanitarian organization DARA. It calculated that five million deaths occur each year from air pollution, hunger and disease as a

Comments:
Why not say 250 million or 179.5 million? They are bigger numbers to get you even more money and one is not so rounded off so as to sound phony. Oh, the whole report IS phony.

someone put up some guild stones in Georgia (modern day Stonehenge) which states that the world can only support 500 million people. This new age religion is so out of control. If everyone currently alive was put in an area the size of Texas each person would have 1000 square feet of room. If they would stop using food for fuel the USA could almost feed the world in grain output.... but the greenies will not allow that, they really push man made globul warming garbage conveniently forgetting that the sun is at an eleven year solar maximus and that the polar caps of Mars have melted too.

WAY more than 100 million shall by 2030, if the "climate controls" now being considered are rigorously applied, and the overall economic growth would be severely stifled, by a figure much higher than the piddling litte amount projected by these "experts".

Controlling climate by the means which these organizations advocate, would necessarily limit the amount of energy consumption at some level MUCH below the somewhat diminished scale we have already sunk to. All over the world, electricity production from nuclear reactors is being scaled back and phased out, which requires greater reliance on other forms of electric power generation, most of which use some form of the combustion of hydrocarbons, as natural gas, coal or petroleum. Power generation from hydroelectric plants is also being reduced, as more and more dams are being broken to "restore" a "more natural" water flow. Wind and solar power generation sources cannot possible make up this gap, largely because they are basically of very low reliability. And the use of hydrocarbons as a fuel source is going to be even more severely restricted, resulting is a VERY serious decrease in total energy output, the lifeblood of wealth generation in this world.

The dieback of the human race will be WAY more than anything else now predicted.

Pretty standard framework.

In these conventional scenarios a massive disaster looms. Quite ghastly it will be. But it is not anything the layman can yet see for himself.

Then hope is offered. There is just enough time, calculated with an atomic clock's accuracy, to avoid the horror or lessen its effects.

Quotes from experts reinforce the theme. They know all.

Then - often well masked - you are lectured. You have a duty, always the same duty, you are to Obey.

"Trust the elite, the establishment, give us more power, let us do whatever we wish, and all will be well."

"But time is short, no more hesitation, no more questions can be allowed. That time has passed."

Now I will read the article. It sure starts like the usual crap via Reuters.

BTW. Earth will be out of helium soon. But NASA can go find plenty, probably on the Moon. It will only require $1t and their estimates are precise.

If my math is correct, assuming there`ll be another 1 billion people by 2030, 100 million would be approx 1.25% of the global population at that time. I would think that many people would die naturally anyway so what is the problem other than global alarmist`s crying wolf?

From Ask Yahoo:

According to the CIA World Factbook, as of July, 2005, there were approximately 6,446,131,400 people on the planet, and the death rate was approximately 8.78 deaths per 1,000 people a year. According to our nifty desktop calculator, that works out to roughly 56,597,034 people leaving us every year. ...

So,

2030 - 2012 = 18 years. 18 years x 56,597,034 = 1,018,746,612. Their math is off somewhat.

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. The Obama and Romney campaigns may be gearing up for a very late night, with one Obama campaign adviser predicting that in Florida alone, "they'll be counting until 2 a.m." The Obama adviser said signs suggest the race is quite tight, though the campaign claimed to be "holding strong" in key battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The adviser also said turnout among black voters in Virginia was better than expected, suggesting that could be a problem for Mitt Romney. Republican operatives in Virginia, though, predicted a razor-thin victory for their candidate in the state.

Washington - Early returns on Tuesday in what is anticipated to be a dead even presidential election contained no surprises, as CNN projected President Barack Obama will win his home state of Illinois and eight other races while Republican challenger Mitt Romney will win nine states. All races called so far went as expected after the roller-coaster ride of an election campaign that was buffeted by a superstorm and missteps on both sides. In Ohio, the former Massachusetts governor takes 56 percent of self-identified independents, compared with 40 percent for President Barack Obama. That’s a huge decrease for Obama from 2008, when the exit polls found him winning independents in Ohio by 12 points, 52 percent to 44 percent for John McCain. The numbers are similar but slightly tighter in Virginia: Romney takes 53 percent of independents there, according to ABC News exit polls, a 12-point lead over Obama. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

Annette Funicello, the dark-haired darling of TV´s “The Mickey Mouse Club” in the 1950s who further cemented her status as a pop-culture icon in the ´60s by teaming with Frankie Avalon in a popular series of “beach” movies, died Monday. She was 70. Funicello, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987 and became a spokeswoman for treatment of the chronic, often-debilitating disease of the central nervous system, died at Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield, Walt Disney Co. spokesman Howard Green said. On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary
