What will Hispanic
takeover mean for US?

BBC News [UK], by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 9/26/2012 12:32:28 PM

The growth of the Hispanic population in California could reach a new milestone as early as 2013, an analysis of Census data shows. By next year, immigrants and their descendants from Central and South America could become the biggest ethnic group in the country's most populous state - surpassing whites for the first time. But Hispanics still trail other ethnic groups in important aspects of society. They are underrepresented among university graduates and Hispanic business owners are more likely to file for bankruptcy. The BBC went to southern California to hear experts talk about where the Hispanic community stands.

Comments:
It's a BBC video so expect bias.

What is "takeover" supposed to mean?

Aren't we all supposed to be past this race thing?

Now, if we continue to have uncontrolled mass immigration, most of these people will be poor and uneducated. That continues to intensify the problem of already strained schools and medicals costs and continue to take more and more tax money.

So the issue is not a "takeover" of anything. What would they be "taking over"? The government? It's already too liberal here. The high paying jobs? I don't think so.

We shouldn't be worrying about ethnicities. We should be worried about the illegal population, regardless of whether they are "Hispanic".

I don't know who the Einsteins are who automatically categorize "Hispanic" as "nonwhite". I know it's an attempt to create a divide where none exists, but it makes absolutely no sense. Most Hispanics are caucasian and some are not....almost all Hispanics from Spain certainly are caucasian.

#7, both are of Cuban descent.
And Cruz was born in Canada as well as being Cuban.

As for the end result of the 'takeover'; should it be predominantly Mexican will be:

Poverty and penury for the people, and power and privilege for those of Spanish descent, exactly like it is in Mexico NOW.

I guess you have to look in the world where Hispanics dominate. Mexico, Central America, South America, Spain, Portugal. We see poverty, corruption in government, small upper class with majority lower class, financial mismanagement. Look at cities in Southern U.S. dominated by Hispanic populations. Same results.

Case closed.

If Hispanics inter-marry with other ethnic groups--which is likely at some point--they will become diluted at an indentifiable category. Right now, in the Chicago schools, there are a number of children who have one Hispanic parent and one Anglo parent. If their name sounds Anglo, no one knows they are Hispanic!

Reply 20 - Posted by: StormCnter, 9/26/2012 2:47:35 PM     (No. 8891685)

Please allow a Texan to offer another view of the Hispanics and their effect. If you've lived in Texas very long, and my family goes back to Comanche-fighting days along the Pecos, you know Mexicans to be your neighbors, your church friends, your co-workers, your city council members, your mailman, the saleslady, the insurance guy, perhaps your congressional representative and your children's school and playmates. These are not evil people. They want the same things the rest of us want for our country and our families. Their US flags are flying from their front porches and their auto antennas.

The illegals who are uneducated, unskilled and a drain on the state's resources are just as much threat to my Mexican friends as they are to me.

A "takeover", from the headline, need not be something to frighten us. We can and should all work together to control the border and the illegals among us in a way that protects our states and our nation.

Reply 21 - Posted by: KTWO, 9/26/2012 2:53:51 PM     (No. 8891701)

It won't mean much.

Economically and socially there is less and less difference between the US and Latin America each year. Mostly because the US - think of Detroit or Camden - is in steady decline.

And much of Latin American is improving. Changes have been slow but rather steady for a century. And not always an improvement e.g. Argentina.

Los Angeles is almost Mexico City with a better climate and beaches.

Reconquista - I hope I spelled that right.

Reply 22 - Posted by: bighambone, 9/26/2012 3:15:06 PM     (No. 8891749)

It won't mean very much to the greater USA as long as all those illegal aliens, and the following generation that they will spawn, stay in California. Since just about all of them are low wage earners who are generally uneducated, will cost the taxpayers of California big money and are highly susceptible to ethnic based populist and socialist demagoguery. The Spanish language is already becoming the predominant language spoken in some parts of California as those places more resemble Mexico and Central America and as more and more illegal aliens arrive that will only accelerate.

To really make a difference in the greater USA, Hispanics will have to "takeover" enough key states to ensure that the liberal Democrats will always have a lock on enough electoral college votes to win all future national elections.

Then look for "open borders" to be enshrined in US law, as that would be bound to bring in more and more potential liberal Democrat socialist oriented voters, and for the USA as an English speaking country to come tumbling down.

One mistake some gringos make when they try to anticipate Mexican-American voting patterns is they look at how generally conservative Hispanics are in their personal life ie the importance of family, religion, etc. and extrapolate a future GOP voting constituency. However when you look at historic voting/political movement patterns of Mexicans in Mexico they have a very socialist bent albeit a uniquely Mexican socialism. They favor a strong executive unencumbered by a legislative or judicial branch.

IMHO we're screwed unless we can convince the masses that continually voting themselves entitlements will end in disaster.
