Register exclusive: Obama says re-election
will send message to Republicans

Des Moines Register, by Jennifer Jacobs

Original Article

Posted By:leesum, 9/26/2012 7:45:45 AM

Despite the trillion-dollar deficits that keep piling up and recent American deaths in hot spots around the world, President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that Iowans should have confidence that he can whittle the debt and maintain peace and security throughout the world. Obama said if he’s fortunate enough to win a second term, his re-election will send a message to Republicans that Americans want them to follow his strategies, and that includes aiding the economy by spending on education and roads and bridges.

Comments:
Instead of Obama wanting to build roads, I want him to hit to the road. Lets sent the same message that was sent in 2010 and in Wisconsin.

He really doesn't understand Americans, does he? No, Obama, if you get elected and are given a Republican Congress, it does not mean people want to follow the direction you wish to go. In a parliamentary system in the U.K., you can make your interpretation...but not in the U.S. Here we have a system of checks and balances. A Republican Congress would be a huge check on your powers. That would mean the American people expect you to negotiate and compromise...not to say, "I won."

An Obama re-election victory will send the message to me that it is time to purchase enough firearms to protect my family and also to stop paying taxes of any kind, to secede from the country. If there are enough utter idiots to re-elect Obama then this is a lost country.

No, Obama re-election will send message to Producers. If obama stays in the White House, jobs will leave the country by the many hundreds of thousands, eventually millions. Atlas Shrugged Part II.

Producers have been saying for decades:

"We did build it, and if you don't like it, we're outta here"

Uh-oh. The DMR started off by stating the facts that contradict Obambi's words. For once a swing state rag made a huge error and published the hypocrisy that is Obambi. No doubt Jennifer got a pink slip this morning.

Like Islam, Obama appeals to the gullible and uneducated, as well as those whose income comes from the private sector taxpayers. This Democrat Party overthrow of the government and takeover of America must be stopped in November or we are screwed.

Obama refers to Red Lines he has established in the MidEast. Did I miss something? The only Red Lines I know of are the ones Israel's PM is requesting.
.... What Red Lines has Obama created? Hope someone can enlighten me.

Yeah and the message is "Half the country has seen Obamas act for 4 years and still voted for him. They are dumb as bricks!"

From the mishandling of the economy to the current foreign policy disasters, this president has shown himself to be totally inept. He needs the voters to give him an early retirement, since he doesn't even have the good sense to realize he's in over his head and resign.

This jerk hasn't been re-elected yet and already he is snickering about how this election will teach Republicans a lesson about "what the country wants". If he is re-elected all it tells me is that he has gathered enough strength using the freeloaders, Unions and Hispanic legal and illegal alien vote to overcome common sense and to overpower the Conservative voters. Everything hinges on his ability to pull this off before all the crud hits the fan due to his stupid policies. It is like he is in a race against time. Taxmageddon, Øbamacare, the $6 trillion in debt he added, all these will come due AFTER the election. He wants everything to look as normal as possible before the election so the uninformed voters will think it's OK to continue on this path. Then he pulls the rug out from under everyone AFTER the election. I do hold Boehner and his Republican cohorts responsible in part by continuing to kick the can down the road and allowing Øbama to get away with this by raising the debt every time Øbama whines about needing to "fund" the government with more debt. Øbama has even turned the money spigot on again using the Fed to make the stock market look better than it really is right before the election. Sort of an "October Surprise" in reverse by making things look better than they really are. His failed policies in the Arab World blew up in his face a little sooner than he had hoped. Just a small taste of what we are in for if he is re-elected.

Worst case scenario, Barack gets reelected, the dems hold the senate and the GOP loses a few seats in the House. If that happens expect Boehner to CAVE.

The state’s higher education community claims that universities are the engine that will drive the state’s economic comeback and thus they deserve more state aid. And you see a lot of head-nodding in agreement among many lawmakers on that notion. But you won’t see a lot of GOP head nodding this week as a house budget subcommittee wants to whack the University of Michigan and Wayne State because they recently extended their contracts with some unions.

Brownells is an economic developer’s dream: a fast-growing, homegrown Iowa business that treats workers like the neighbors they are, eagerly donates to a passing community hat, and grooms leaders who sit on city boards and holler from soccer game benches. The Montezuma-based supplier of firearm accessories, ammunition and supplies also stands on the front lines of a national debate over gun control — selling controversial high-capacity ammunition magazines and parts for semi-automatics like the AR-15.

In a broad new expansion of HIV screening, an influential government panel now says everyone ages 15 to 65 should be tested for the virus that causes AIDS. The draft recommendation, issued Monday by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, is far broader than its last recommendation in 2005, which called for screening only those at high risk.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
