An excellent editorial that correctly sees the certain existential threat posed to Israel by a nuclear Iran. But the last sentence, suggesting that Obama read Orwell, presumes incorrectly that he would do something about it then.

The Ayatollah's pet monkey can't even get his historic facts straight. Iran has not been around for 10,000 years. Iran didn't even exist as a nation until the Islamic conquest in 633 AD. Before that it was various Persian Empires. On the other hand, the people of Abraham crystalized into the Nation of Israel at about 1300 BC, so they've got old Mahmood by several thousand years. Israel has been used by Islamists as a "shiny object" to distract the unwashed and uneducated Muslim masses to decades to take attention off the fact that while Israel thrives, every single Muslim country is a third world hell hole. So they blame Israel to keep the people from noticing their own corrupt leaders and defective socio-economic "religious" system.

At the same time the Senate has cut a deal on gun control by, er, making the status quo slightly more muscular, the Gang of Eight has reached a deal in principle on immigration. At least three, according to the Government Accountability Office, which on Tuesday released its 2013 report on fragmentation and duplication of federal programs.
