| Former Navy SEALs are speaking out after President Barack Obama referred to recent events in the Middle East, including the deaths of two former Navy SEALs, as "bumps in the road." Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty were providing security at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya when it was attacked on 9/11. They were both hailed in the aftermath of the attacks by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Both had gone into private security after retiring from the Navy after distinguished careers. Former SEAL and current Montana State Senator Ryan Zinke issued the following statement:
|
Comments: Thank you for speaking out about our disgraceful CIC. As an aside, a SEAL on Fox the other day said if the Black Panthers again threatened polling places (as they said they are going to do) they would also be there to defend the voters. Now that could get interesting.

It's very good advice to treat the people who handle your food respectfully.
SEALs are many orders of magnitude more vital [no offense, friends in Food Service].
Stinky still thinks bullies are tough guys. A reckoning is coming.

I hope that Ryan Zinke and his fellow Seals are planning to use the "We Are Not Bumps in the Road" narrative for a new ad. Sorry POS/BO needs to be SEALBOATED big time!

If the Navy SEALS are now under the bambi bus as road bumps, oh dark won will definitely need to get a much larger bus There are more persons under that bus than there are passengers. Tickets, please.
For the SEALS, WTP thank you greatly for your service. God bless each and every one of you, and your families. Stay safe.

I think that Pollak has some basic facts wrong in this story. Woods and Doherty were not providing security at the consulate. They learned that there was trouble and they voluntarily went there to defend the Americans. That the 30+ Americans got out is a testament to their personal courage.
It's been hard to get a straight story about what happened. It sounds to me like the 30+ escaped because the SEALS stayed to put up a fight.

President Obama pledged that the United States would punish anyone responsible for the explosions at the Boston Marathon today, but he said that “people shouldn’t jump to conclusions” about the tragedy. “We still do not know who did this or why and people shouldn’t jump to conclusions before they have all the facts,” Obama told reporters during a statement from the White House. “Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups, will feel the full weight of justice,” he added. Newsweek‘s Eleanor Clift predicted a coming sea-change in American gun politics on this week’s McLaughlin Group. Clift said that the emergence of prominent victim advocates after tragic shootings has changed the politics of guns. “The Newtown families and Gabby Giffords are in the gun debate to stay, and over time their voices will be more powerful than the NRA. The culture of guns is beginning to go through a transformation in this country,” she said. Votes on proposed gun law reforms are expected to take place next week and right now it

President Obama is aware of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell’s murder trial, but White House Press Secretary Jay Carney wouldn’t speculate about whether Obama might not support legislation such as the Born Alive Act that he opposed as a state senator. “You’re asking for hypotheticals about legislation or proposed legislation that I haven’t seen,” Carney replied when Fox News’ Ed Henry asked if Obama, having voted against a Born Alive Act in the Illinois state legislature, thought the Gosnell case suggested there was a need for such a law. “The president is aware of this,” Carney also said, adding that

The United States federal government is rapidly falling out of favor with the country’s Democrats, according to new polling data released by the Pew Research Center. The federal government has been wildly unpopular for some time, explains Pew, but even with President Barack Obama in the driver’s seat, the percentage of Democrats finding favor with the federal government has plummeted 10 points in the last year, down to just 41 percent of that party. The new data mark the first time Democrats have declared the Obama-led federal government more unfavorable than favorable, with 51 percent of Democratic respondents

WASHINGTON – New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez is holding up a vote in the U.S. Senate on a resolution honoring Margaret Thatcher, the former prime minister of the United Kingdom who died last week after suffering a stroke, multiple sources tell The Daily Caller. While the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring Thatcher last week, Menendez, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, objects to some of the language proposed by Republicans in the Senate’s version, sources said. A copy of the proposed resolution, which would be offered by Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell, honors “the life, legacy,

A spokesman for Florida Sen. A text of the massive bill, which was crafted without public scrutiny by a bipartisan group of senators popularly called the ”Gang of Eight,” has not yet been released.

If you sell a gun to your son, “there’s something wrong with your family," says New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In a radio appearance on Friday, Bloomberg, a gun control activist and co-chair of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, praised the legislation that is now moving forward in the Senate. The bill would require universal background checks for most sales of firearms, including those online and at gun shows. “The only thing it would not cover is if you sold a gun to your son, for example,” Bloomberg told radio host John Gambling.

While pushing for more gun control legislation on the House floor, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said, “Don’t condemn the gangbangers, they’ve got guns that are trafficked.” Jackson Lee took the House floor on April 9 to argue in favor of increased gun control legislation, “Don’t condemn the gangbangers, they’ve got guns that are trafficked -- that are not enforced, that are straw purchased and they come into places even that have strong gun laws." “Why? Because we don’t have sensible gun legislation.” Jackson Lee continued by saying that current gun laws need to be enforced,

This past Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union program, Senator Rubio complained to Candy Crowley that “everyone’s focused on passing these laws that have proven ineffective and will prove ineffective in the future.” He wasn’t talking about immigration then, but about guns. On immigration, he was the one making the argument for “passing these laws that have proven ineffective and will prove ineffective in the future.” Rubio on Sunday managed a “Full Ginsburg” — appearing on all five Sunday talk shows on the same day. Since he first became a presidential candidate, President Obama must have spent millions of dollars in legal expenses to combat dozens of so-called "birther" challenges seeking the original documents pertaining to his birth. As president, he famously issued an electronic document on the White House website in 2011; the document purported to be his long-form birth certificate, though it is apparently a forgery. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data -- all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

But Levin called the situation “fascism.” “Well, it has come to my attention that there is a Republican congressman out there who doesn’t like what I’ve been saying,” Levin said. “It has come to my attention that there is a

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

In light of the explosions that have rocked Boston on Patriots’ Day, during the city’s annual marathon, NBC reporter Luke Russert took to Twitter to speculate that today’s horrific events could possibly be related to the 1993 government siege on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas — an incident often attached to conversations about “right-wing terrorism” and anti-government violence. “I was at Fenway Park w my dad and @mikebarnicle during Waco which was on Patriots Day in 1993. Speculating on possible link,” Russert tweeted following the explosions.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza’s mother considered suing Sandy Hook Elementary School after teachers turned a blind eye to beatings from his classmates, a family member claims. The relative, speaking to the Daily News, claimed that mass murderer Lanza was taunted and attacked by fellow students at his childhood alma mater. “Nancy felt fiercely protective of him,” the relative said. “She was convinced the school wasn’t doing enough to protect Adam. It made her irate.” Nancy Lanza — gunned down by her 20-year-son to start his Dec. 14 rampage — even tagged along with Adam to school

Whitehall sources have revealed that the U.S. delegation at tomorrow’s service in St Paul’s Cathedral will be led by two Reagan era secretaries of state: James Baker and George Shultz. Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. Is media bias to blame for lack of Gosnell coverage? Or something far more banal? The trial of Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell would seem to have all the elements of a spectacular news story: shocking allegations, horrifying visuals, sympathetic victims. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.
