| At a concert in Washington, D.C. on Monday night, Madonna explained why she expected all of her fans to vote for Obama. “Y’all better vote for f–king Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right? We have a black Muslim in the White House! Now that’s some amazing s–t,” Madonna said. “It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man, g-damnit."
|
Comments: Ahh yes, the always classy Madonna. s/o How soon did she get a call from the White House after that statement? This is the entire article.

I always say, no matter how elections turn out, that the people on our side are just better people than the people on the other side. This stunt from Madonna is just another example.
Like Barry Goldwater said after Cappaquiddick, something to the effect that "if I did what Ted Kennedy did, my supporters would have hung me from a lampost...the liberals who support Ted Kennedy will re-elect him." And that's just what they did. Character means nothing...just power.

Madonna is cleverly trying to innoculate herself against real Islamic outrage being directed against her and they may well reward her by giving her a pass until they colonise the West. Then she will get eaten later than some of the rest of us.

I'm no fan, but Madonna is hardly stupid. She's a creative trail-blazer, for better or worse, and I've also been impressed with her honesty. And she certainly did us a favor here, if inadvertently. I wonder why she said this. Giving her more credit than many of you would perhaps - it could have been an effort to prevent further Mideast violence, not to mention issue for the pRez.

Ironic. Her endorsement is an embarrassment to the Obama campaign. They typically might rush to correct her "Muslim" reference, lest their campaign be deemed to have admitted the truth. Yet they dare not, for fear of attracting more registered voter attention to her disgusting tirade.

My deceased father, a red-necked democrat that would make Archie Bunker seem tolerant, would say of this woman: if she had as many things sticking out of her as had been stuck in, she would look like a porcupine.
I modify that for my more tolerant generation and say that this woman is hardly qualified to give anyone advice on how to vote. We already know there is a black muslim in the white house and we can do without the expletives.

#3, "y'all" is a Southernism, not a black colloquialism. I am white, Southern by adoption, and use the term "y'all" all the time, as do genuine Southerners of every class. It's part of the Southern culture, not necessarily part of the black culture.
We do know it isn't proper grammar but it IS part of being a southerner and we enjoy it. The trick is using it properly: When you address one person, it's "y'all", as in "Can y'all go to lunch with me tomorrow?". When you address several people, it's "all y'all", as in "I hope all y'all will be donating to Romney's campaign.

#17, Madonna is NOT a "creative trailblazer". She is a manipulative opportunist. She is partially a product of her own device and of the industry. She used sex and shock factor at a time when that was the thing to do. But she is hardly creative in her own right. Her singing ability was dubious for the first half of her career until she spent a fortune (made off the idiot fans) finally taking voice lessons to learn how to really sing. She never had any natural talent though. Madonna and idiots like her are what went wrong with the music industry and why there is no such thing as real music anymore.

I’m not sure how widely it was known that Jonathan Winters, whom Robin Williams thought the best comic of his generation, was a conservative. In any case, I sometimes used to show students in my classes on the American Founding the early scene from “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World” where the whole gang tries to deliberate about how to divide the loot fairly when they finally got to the site where the loot was hidden, and how it could illustrate . . . the “great compromise” of the constitutional convention of 1787 in Philadelphia.

The Republican National Committee has reaffirmed its opposition to gay marriage with a slate of resolutions passed unanimously at its spring meeting. Several resolutions re-establishing the party´s official position were adopted without discussion on Friday. One resolution states the party´s belief that "the institution of marriage is the solid foundation upon which our society is built and in which children thrive; it is based on the relationship that only a man and a woman can form." The RNC also expresses its “support for marriage as the union of one man and one woman,

During an appearance on MSNBC´s Morning Joe, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said expanded background checks are "not enough," and private gun sales cannot continue because they allow terrorists to buy guns in the United States. "Can a terrorist currently buy a gun in this country? Yes. Can a felon? Yes. You go to a gun show and virtually no questions are asked," Feinstein claimed. Joe Scarborough chimed in later in the segment to echo Feinstein´s claim, asserting, "So now we have al Qaeda terrorists saying, ´Kill Americans, it´s easy, just go to gun shows, get an assault weapon.´"

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, said on Tuesday that the healthcare law, set to go into full effect in less than eight months, is “probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress” and “is just beyond comprehension.” Rockefeller said he is concerned that early missteps with implementing the healthcare overhaul may cascade into confusion and chaos. The law, said Rockefeller, is “so complicated and if it isn’t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse.” Rockefeller’s consternation echoes comments made earlier this

As Perino revealed to her co-hosts, some on “the left” have been calling her “racist.” Perino didn’t point to any specific examples, except for one tweet from someone named Richard Robbins who put forward her rapped response to Jay-Z as an example of the GOP’s “laughable minority outreach.”

We’re glad that U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy and Gov. Dannel Malloy are talking in detail about the victims of Sandy Hook as part of a push for federal gun control legislation. Members of Congress need to know that Dylan Hockley “loved jumping on trampolines and watching movies” and that he “died in his teacher’s arms.” They should meet Benjamin Wheeler’s parents and know what they’ve lost. What Murphy and Malloy are doing is not politicizing a tragedy. It’s an important part of the discussion around restricting the kind of mass murder weaponry used to kill 20 children

WASHINGTON — The White House says the mother of a Newtown shooting victim will deliver the weekly presidential radio and Internet address. President Barack Obama typically gives the talk, focusing on a topic that´s in the news or a policy the White House is pushing. This week, Obama has asked Francine Wheeler to deliver the address instead. Wheeler and her husband, David, lost their 6-year-old son Ben in the December schoolhouse shooting in Newtown, Conn. White House spokesman Jay Carney says Obama believes the voices of Newtown families have been critical to progress on gun control.

In 1965, disgusted by what he viewed as confiscatory taxation by the British authorities -- a supertax instituted by the Labor government was taking 95 percent of top earners´ income -- George Harrison wrote a bitter song from the perspective of a maniacal tax collector: If you drive a car, I´ll tax the street, If you try to sit, I´ll tax your seat. If you get too cold I´ll tax the heat, If you take a walk, I´ll tax your feet. But even Harrison´s "Taxman" never conceived of a levy on the weather, something currently being instituted in Maryland.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

Remember little Anthony Freemont, played by cute little Billy Mumy, in one of the "Twilight Zone´s" most famous episodes? In the opening sequence Rod Serling informs us: "A monster had arrived in the village. Just by using his mind, he took away the automobiles, the electricity, the machines -- because they displeased him -- and he moved an entire community back into the dark ages -- just by using his mind. . . . and the people there have to smile. They have to think happy thoughts and say happy things because once displeased, the monster can wish them into a cornfield

Seven hundred Military Special Operations professionals. And one insistent and very angry Mom. This is becoming a deadly combination for the political game players in the Obama Administration. Sean Smith, the young State Department computer wizard who was brutally murdered that September night in Benghazi, was Pat Smith’s only child. Let’s say that again. Sean Smith was Mrs. Smith’s only child. To listen to her recent radio interview with another Sean… Sean Hannity… is to have the heart break.

Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven´t heard about these sickening accusations? It´s not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.

That report also explains why we cover the topic here at GetReligion. But the thing is that I’m getting kind of sick of pointing out egregious bias only to see things not just remain bad but get worse. Just think, in the last year, we saw the media drop any pretense of objectivity and bully the Susan G. Komen Foundation
