Greg Buckley's Agony
American Thinker, by Ed Kaitz

Original Article

Posted By:magnante, 9/25/2012 9:58:45 AM

On August 10 this year Lance Cpl. Greg Buckley Jr. was murdered by an Afghan police officer "trainee" in the Helmand Province of southern Afghanistan. The 21 year old Buckley was working out in a gym when the Afghan officer walked in with an AK-47 and discharged the weapon into the unarmed Marine's chest. Earlier in the year, Buckley was told by a superior officer to apologize to the Afghan trainee after the pair had a dispute over the American presence in Afghanistan. The dispute occurred after the Afghan officer repeatedly pestered and harassed Buckley

To the Buckley Family,

There are no words that will heal your broken hearts. Please know in the dark days ahead that true Americans respect the sacrifice that you and your son made for our great country. Your son died a hero in our eyes.

In the long days ahead, hold close your memories. There will be a light at the end of this very dark tunnel. You will get there one day at a time, knowing you raised a wonderful son who was willing to give his all for our benefit.

May God bless you all.

A grateful American and gold star mother

Time to rethink bringing back the draft. This would mean both boys and girls have got to serve which would also mean those who are in Washington as elected officials would have "skin in the game" of war.

Not so easy to wage war like a sissy when your kid is on the front lines. Rules of engagement would then change from behaving like a "police action" to "real war" making...kill and destroy the enemy for "victory" would be the name of the game.

Our State Department would have to forgo their "peace corps" mentality too!

How would Obama like the pain this parent will carry for the remainder of his life?

Lance Cpl. Greg Buckley Jr. gave his life for us. America cannot exist without those willing to fight and die for her. We owe it to him to quit whining about Romney not being perfect and fight for our country too.

Sorry, #5, but there was a draft during Viet Nam, and it didn't work like that. The politicians' kids were kept out, and the cowards ran to Canada.

Our prayers are with you, Mr. Buckley. Know we support you and your family.

This is a Must Read.

#5,#7, we were all drafted on 9/11/01. Everybody picked a side. Our collective problem is we elect pandering liars who are only focused on how they can bend government service to their interests. Since their 'intelligence' is limited to perfecting their greed, they have NO clue about how to wage a war, protect a country or stimulate an economy. The apologists, 'intellectuals,' experts, and fifth columnists will only succeed in getting more of us impoverished and ultimately murdered.

We used to understand common sense. When the war against fanatical muslims in the Philippines was failing we upgraded the weapons and sent in General Pershing. He quickly noted the muslim mindset and made a point of executing the insurgents with all the things they feared the most, like burying them with pigskin. Pretending to respect savagery and trying to be their friend, only increases their contempt. If people were honest, they would admit this fact.

We are all grateful to your family, as well as all other Military families whose sons and daughters have sacrificed so much for this Country. You are all in our Prayers.

Shaming the MSM on abortion

The progressive media are deliberately ignoring the horrifying practices of Dr. Kenneth Gosnell, the Philadelphia abortionist who executed babies born live and is now on trial for murder. Mark Steyn does not mince words: "The U.S. media´s unanimous agreement to see no evil is sick and totalitarian." At this stage of media corruption, the only option we have in facing such evil is public shaming and ridicule. We must demand answers as to why they ignore such a compelling story, and when we get them, we must parse them and ridicule the self-serving rationalizations. They are whoring out their journalistic principles

For a clue as to what may be motivating the North Korean regime´s recent provocations, one need look no further than Kim Jong-Un´s American counterpart in the Dear Leader deification sweepstakes. Barack Obama is another man without meaningful accomplishments elevated to a leadership position for which he was utterly unprepared and unqualified. Just as the American political establishment and media made fools of themselves producing an illusion of significance around this most insignificant character, so North Korea must do the same for its chubby cherub-cum-demigod.

If our major media were not fully committed propagandists, they would report the findings of a large scale survey of law enforcement personnel on the subject of further gun legislation. After all, they are currently following the President´s strategy of distracting the public from the awful state of the economy by exploiting the victims of Newtown to push for further erosion of Second Amendment rights. So the views of law enforcement personnel ought ot be of some interest. But of course the results are dramatic

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

What Americans say in public about same-sex marriage isn´t necessarily a good barometer of public opinion, because, if we´re going to be honest, there´s a huge discrepancy between the opinions that Americans express in polls and the opinions they express at the polls.(snip)It´s important for Americans to understand that the same-sex marriage campaign is about the disenfranchisement of dissenters, not empowerment. The protests, the social media memes, the entire agenda is about demonizing opponents of same-sex marriage

Before America embarks on changing the concept of marriage, I hope they will at least agree on examining cultures that do not define marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. In their eagerness to achieve their goals, the pro gay marriage enthusiasts are marching towards what they perceive as progress and modernity while ignoring lessons from other cultures, history, basic human nature and the horrific and negative unintended consequences of redefining "marriage". Islam´s definition of marriage is one man and up to four women

During the highly publicized exchange between Bill O´Reilly and Laura Ingraham on gay marriage, O´Reilly made this statement: "There are Bible thumpers, and all they do is say, ´I object to gay marriage because God objects to it.´ You don´t win a policy debate in America with that." Really? Before central control out of Washington was imposed in 2003, policy arguments for criminalizing homosexual acts were won explicitly "with that." And because of "that," the idea of gay marriage has been unthinkable throughout the history of the American nation.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

In Philadelphia, at a human abattoir on Lancaster Avenue, is where it ends, not where it starts. It starts with the perversion of language. It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.
