Obama suddenly slips, Romney
gains in updated Rove Electoral Map

Investor's Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

Karl Rove's commentary on this week's Electoral Map updates: "Seven states changed status since last week's Electoral College map, with four moving in Mitt Romney's direction and only three moving toward Barack Obama. Mr. Romney saw Georgia move from 'lean' to 'safe' Romney, New Hampshire change from 'lean' Obama to 'toss up,' and New Mexico and Pennsylvania both shift from 'safe' to 'lean' Obama.

Amazing. The Obama states must feel very proud of their guy ignoring the U.N. meetings so he could tape The View, which was obviously much more important.

The undecides will break for the challenger. And, many of those polled will vote against Obama but won't admit it for fear of being called racist.

I think R&R will do much better than polls suggest. The Silent Majority lives, it's just that, as a previous poster suggests, a lot of people won't admit to being disgusted with Obama due to the "racist" component. Our Dear Readers' guaranteed base is kinda quiet of late...I don't think they've got anywhere near the same level of enthusiasm they had the last time around. But the "other side" sure as hurl does have the enthusiasm to see that Obama, Moochie, and their entourage of grifters get an eviction notice come November.

Really, #5. And Georgia has just moved into "safe"????

What is he smoking? I have seen one, one Obama 2012 bumper sticker, and in North Georgia, where I live, voting is looked on as similar to religion. (You should have seen our local Chick-fil-As that fateful day. Amazing.)And, by the way, yesterday we saw the only Gary Johnson bumper sticker, too.

I was raised in the other end of the state, and I don't hear anyone saying anything nice about the Presidoofus there either.

Just go vote.

I'm ignoring anything written from a poll, about a poll, etc etc etc...

How can Romney win Illinois if it is true that Obama is going to give a ton of our money to Illinois and California to help them avoid bankruptcy?

And what exactuly has Karl Rove done or said in his report that makes him so hard to endure?

I totally agree, #6! Georgia was a "lean Romney state? What is he smoking? I'm near Atlanta, so I do see the occasional Obama sticker (it is the San Francisco/Oakland of the South, after all), but even some rabid liberals I know are scared to death and are voting Romney (and have Romney stickers, etc.) on their cars.

The problem with the Rove map is it uses all polls including the slanted ones and ones up to 30 days old. When you see movement on it it reflects what happened 15 days ago. Sudden is really the wrong adjective to use here.

I agree. The polls are garbage. I got polled 4 times this weekend, and adopted a new persona for each - 18-24 Hispanic female, 25-44 Black female, etc. All were likely voters, voted for Obama in 08, and will vote absolutely for Romney this time.

And the last time I checked I don't have any Lady Parts.

Don't know what Karl Rove is up to and frankly he and his "board" are past tedious! Lean and Safe, ridiculous! His Electoral-map is impossible to believe, but I guess if he keeps showing us made up numbers, he can "update" it at the end and take credit for the Romney/Ryan Landslide! Too bad, I used to respect Karl Rove. Now, not so much.

In Illinois in 2010, Republican Mark Kirk won President Obama's former US Senate seat by 59,220 votes(48.1% to 46.42%). A truly awful Republican Governor candidate lost by a mere 31,834 votes to an honest, likeable Dem incumbent (by virtue of Blagojevich impeachment.) That Governor result was 46.79% to 45.94%.

True, Obama was not on the ballot in 2010, so black voter turnout might have been lower than in 2008. However, the rest of Illinois, especially the collar counties surrounding Cook County, are not going to be fooled again into voting to re-elect President Obama. Collar county turnout will be high and strongly anti-Obama. The rest of Illinois is solidly Republican, save for the depopulated area around East St. Louis.

Romney will win Illinois.

Additionally, reports out today state that voter registration in Chicago itself is down 225,000 since 2008.

Democrat Robin Kelly wins special Illinois
House election, but what about prison?

Despite the endorsement of President Obama, Robin Kelly easily won election Tuesday night in a special House election to represent Illinois´ troubled Second Congressional District. The sprawling urban-suburban district, containing Chicago´s ugly South Side, was formerly represented by Jesse Jackson Jr., who like a number of Illinois politicians will be residing in a federal penitentiary for a while. In fact, the last three incumbents of the Second District´s seat have moved on to prison cells, as have some recent governors. But that’s probably coincidence.

President Obama was on again Monday about gun laws, not enforcing the existing ones. But getting some new ones, any new ones so he can claim some kind of political victory after all of the promises and vows he made in the emotional days last December. But Obama wasn´t working on the senators from his own party who will actually determine the fate of these measures. That would be political leadership. No, Obama was out of town again, up in Hartford for a photo op with Connecticut legislators and some Newtown families.

It´s a good thing this column is available online, so that residents of Memphis, New Orleans and Riverside, California can learn how unsafe their city is without having to venture outside. Those are the bottom three metropolitan areas where residents said they felt least safe walking alone at night in their neighborhood. From the safety of their little work cubicles somewhere, the number gnomes over at the Gallup organization have been accumulating data on perceived human well-being as part of their polling calls on many subjects. From that data comes the 50 most and least safe cities.

Washington is broke. Big spending programs are running out of money and change is coming. The ideas on how to fix the federal government are now percolating in the states, 30 of which are led by Republican governors. You see, you don’t change America by changing Washington. With video.

Hi, everybody. Our top priority as a nation, and my top priority as President, must be doing everything we can to reignite the engine of America’s growth: a rising, thriving middle class. That’s our North Star. That must drive every decision we make. Now, yesterday, we learned that our businesses created 95,000 new jobs last month. That’s about 500,000 new jobs this year, and nearly 6.5 million new jobs over the past three years. But we’ve got more work to do.

In a swift and strange reversal, Obama administration officials Thursday rushed to play down their own recent announcements of defensive U.S. military movements in response to threats and provocations from North Korea. The hereditary Communist dictatorship of the Kim family that took over the North after World War II has always been quirky, unpredictable and, well, mentally unbalanced by any modern governing standards. The country would be cinematically comical and worthy of a Peter Sellers role were the rogue regime not actively developing nuclear weapons and long-distance missiles to deliver or orbit them.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz has called for the complete legislative repeal of ObamaCare and its replacement by comprehensive healthcare reforms that actually increase patient choice, decrease the role of government bureaucrats and disconnect health insurance from employment. "If you lose your job," Cruz said, "you don´t lose your house, life or car insurance. They go with you wherever you go." It should be the same for health insurance. In a wide-ranging exclusive interview with IBD´s weekly M&M podcast, the Texas freshman said, "Our first priority is repealing ObamaCare and repealing it in its entirety.”

After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”
