| During his first run for president, Barack Obama made one very specific promise to voters: He would cut health insurance premiums for families by $2,500, and do so in his first term. But it turns out that family premiums have increased by more than $3,000 since Obama's vow, according to the latest annual Kaiser Family Foundation employee health benefits survey. [snip] And ObamaCare will continue to fuel health premium inflation.

Obama's worst nightmare (Math) strikes again. Dang. Why can't you run government based on Social Studies? And besides, who the heck ever remembers the difference between those debit and credit thingys?

It is worse than this. Deductibles are up. You pay your increasing premium, but you get less in return.

My husband and I are now paying almost $400 a month for medications we were on 4 years ago and did NOT pay that amount for. And this is with a private insurance company. Perhaps the dems plan for us over-60's to just die is the right way to go. We certainly can't afford to live in their world.

Healthcare costs aren't all that are in Obamacare. There are aggressions coming most people are unaware of -- like the tax on selling a home that comes Jan, 2013.. govt access to your bank account to force the payments for govt healthcare.. rationing of treatment for elderly.. As former Dem Senator Zell Miller said, "I could go ohn and ohn" about the Bad People that got into the basement of the Democrat Party and won't go away.

Add this to the broken vow to reduce the national debt by 50% by the end of his first term. Instead, obama RAISED the debt 50%. Like poster above said - it's simple arithmetic. No nuance. Just arithmetic.

I thought I had it bad enough that my premiums have gone up by almost 1400. And yes, my deductibles are up as well.
It is the ultimate in either stupidity or deceit to say that a 2000+ page bill out of congress will make anything less expensive or more efficient. It just does not happen.

When President Obama was selling his signature health care reform bill back in early 2010, he described it as the "largest middle-class tax cut for health care in history." The costs would be largely paid by taxing insurance companies "that stand to gain a lot of money and a lot of profits" and by making "sure that the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share on Medicare." [snip] But a closer examination finds that ObamaCare´s three biggest taxes — a Medicare surcharge, the so-called Cadillac tax and an insurance premium fee — will increasingly hit the middle class

Almost as many people signed up with the federal government´s permanent worker disability program as got jobs in March, according to two sets of government data, continuing a troubling trend throughout the Obama recovery. Last month, 81,804 workers left the workforce to join the Social Security Disability Insurance program. So far this year, nearly a quarter million workers have joined the program. Over the past four years, 4 million left the workforce to go on disability.

Uninsured: The White House recently released details about how it plans to market ObamaCare to the uninsured. What it reveals is that most of them don´t want what the administration is trying to force them to buy. In a series of slides posted on the Health and Human Services´ website, the administration explains how it plans to market ObamaCare to the uninsured. Let´s leave aside for a minute the oddity of this effort. Its backers have endlessly touted ObamaCare as a miracle of modern government that will at long last bring insurance within reach of 48 million people

Americans are migrating from less-free liberal states to more-free conservative states, where they are doing better economically, according to a new study published Thursday by the George Washington University´s Mercatus Center. The "Freedom in the 50 States" study measured economic and personal freedom using a wide range of criteria, including tax rates, government spending and debt, regulatory burdens, and state laws covering land use, union organizing, gun control, education choice and more.

Just over three years ago, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi famously quipped about ObamaCare that "we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it." But only now, as ObamaCare´s third anniversary approaches — President Obama signed it into law on March 23, 2010 — is the country starting to find out what the sweeping health care overhaul will actually do. ObamaCare backers typically tout popular features that went into effect almost immediately. The law expanded Medicare´s drug coverage, for example, and let children stay on their parents´ plans until they turned 26. But the bulk

Food Stamp Nation: A little town in Rhode Island shows where liberalism and all its talk of economic "security" ultimately leads — a stale economy and suffocating dependence on big government. In a surprisingly candid and lengthy expose, the Washington Post described how Woonsocket, an economically depressed town in Rhode Island, has been turned upside down by food stamps. With a third of the town enrolled, food stamps have created a huge boom-and-bust economy in Woonsocket

In their first budget in four years, Senate Democrats claim to have crafted a plan that cuts federal spending a total of $975 billion over the next decade. "This budget cuts spending responsibly," said Senate Budget Chairman Patty Murray, D-Wash., this week. "There are no sacred cows; we put everything we can on the table." But an IBD review of the budget data shows that the Senate vastly overstates the size of its spending cuts. In fact, it could be that the Senate would, if enacted, increase federal spending by hundreds of billions of dollars.

Budget: When President Obama put out his "balanced" plan to avoid the automatic sequester cuts, no one noticed. Which is probably just as well for Obama, given how embarrassingly unbalanced it is. [snip] Last week, New York Times columnist David Brooks wrote about how Obama "hasn´t actually come up with a proposal to avert sequestration, let alone one that is politically plausible." Turns out, Obama did have one, although Brooks can be excused for not knowing it, since the administration hasn´t exactly been promoting this so-called plan.

On Tuesday, Sen. Jeff Sessions touted a government report that blew a $6.2 trillion hole in President Obama´s promise that his signature health reform wouldn´t add a dime to the deficit. According to the report by the Government Accountability Office, that promise rested entirely on several cost-control mechanisms in ObamaCare that almost no one thinks will work. [snip] Still, bad as this $6.2 trillion deficit boost is, the real figure is likely to be much higher, since the GAO is still being far too optimistic about the rest of ObamaCare. Here are five big assumptions the GAO makes...

Sequester: If you want to know how misleading the Obama administration is being about the effects of the sequester, look no further than Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood´s dark warnings about flight delays. LaHood showed up at the daily White House press briefing Friday to claim the sequester — automatic spending cuts President Obama insisted on that are now scheduled to take effect in March — will "be very painful for the flying public." [snip] But LaHood, taking his cues from Obama, is needlessly trying to panic the public.

For years, ObamaCare critics focused on its least popular feature — the mandate that everyone buy insurance — taking their fight all the way to the Supreme Court. But as ObamaCare´s official launch date approaches, even its backers are beginning to admit that the law could actually create powerful incentives for millions of people and thousands of businesses to drop their coverage, despite the mandate. There is growing concern, for example, that the law´s market reforms will cause a huge "rate shock," particularly for those young and healthy.

Sequester: In his State of the Union speech, President Obama is sure to issue dire warnings about the automatic spending cuts resulting from the "sequester." But look closer, and the cuts are far less than meet the eye. As the March deadline for the sequester draws closer, Obama´s rhetoric about the cuts it will impose grows more overheated. In his radio address over the weekend, he said they would be "a huge blow to middle-class families and our economy as a whole."

Protocol: President Obama declined to send a high-level delegation to Wednesday´s funeral of Britain´s Margaret Thatcher. It´s a measure of how little he values the special relationship — and a sign of his own smallness. Back in more gracious times, vice presidents routinely attended funerals of foreign dignitaries. As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting for as significant a U.S. ally as the late Prime Minister Thatcher, if not out of warmth of feeling, then simply to represent the U.S.´ gratitude. President Obama angrily blamed the defeat Wednesday of his centerpiece gun-control proposal on lies spread by the National Rifle Association, calling it “a pretty shameful day for Washington.” “The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.” As he spoke, Mr. Obama was surrounded by family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Also with him was former Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, wounded in an assassination attempt.

BOSTON -- The bombs that blew up seconds apart at the finish line of one of the world´s most storied races left the streets spattered with blood and glass, three dead, including an 8-year-old boy, more than 140 wounded and gaping questions of who chose to attack at the Boston Marathon and why. Authorities on Tuesday revealed little new information about the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, the most high-profile bombing on U.S. soil in more than a decade and a tragedy that presents a new test for President Obama. Obama, like all Americans, is standing by, waiting for answers as to who planted two bombs improvised from pressure cookers at the finish line of the storied race, and why. Three Americans were killed in Monday´s attack and more than 170 others were injured. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," Obama said,

It failed by a vote of 54 to 46, with 5 Democrats voting against it. Only 4 Republicans supported it. Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor (Ark.), Max Baucus (Mont.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Begich (Alaska) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) voted against it. Reid supported the measure but voted against it to preserve his ability to bring the measure up again. GOP Sens. John McCain (Ariz.), Susan Collins (Maine), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Mark Kirk

As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

Washington — President Barack Obama says the Senate’s opposition to a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers marks a “shameful day” in Washington. He says a minority of senators decided “it wasn’t worth it” to protect the nation’s children. Obama spoke in the Rose Garden shortly after the Senate vote rejecting a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers. (Snip) The president pinned the blame for the measures failure, though five Democrats also opposed the plan. He also said the gun lobby and its allies “willfully lied” about background check bill.

National Republicans are pulling the plug on Mark Sanford’s suddenly besieged congressional campaign, POLITICO has learned — a potentially fatal blow to the former South Carolina governor’s dramatic comeback bid. Blindsided by news that Sanford’s ex-wife has accused him of trespassing and concluding he has no plausible path to victory, the National Republican Congressional Committee has decided not to spend more money on Sanford’s behalf ahead of the May 7 special election. “Mark Sanford has proven he knows what it takes to win elections. At this time, the NRCC will not be engaged in this special election,”
