Unless he's planning on showing up there (Ft. Hood) unannounced today to visit, this is really a stupid move. You'd think they would learn from the blowback they got (even from the nutty Boston Globe, for crying out loud!) for his goofball insensitivity in his remarks following the shooting and try to remedy the situation. Yes, I do indeed think this is going to cost him.

IIRC, it was Nov, 1985, a plane carrying soldiers from Ft Campbell, KY crashed. ("Screaming Eagles"?) I remember Pres and Mrs. Reagan greeting and consoling soldiers, I just can't remember where they flew but they were there to comfort people and offer sympathies. I watched the coverage and I was deeply moved. Class tells.

Has anybody ever checked back and determined the attitude of Woodrow Wilson toward the US Military establishment? It seems that Wilson, too, had little empathy for the typical soldier, or the "officer class".

His base couldn't care less about Ft. Hood. Left to them they would erase it from the face of the earth. So, he couldn't care less about going there. It's still shocking how dark this group is that inhabits Our House(s). Yeh, ya got that rahm and nancy and o, it's OUR HOUSE, not yours. We have lent it to you.

I have a friend who's a lifelong resident of Killeen, he doesn't think the base wants Obama there. The folks on the ground don't want him and it would be a logistical nightmare. He'd bring along all the press and two or three plane loads of garbage.

It's also good to know that the person who is third in line hasn't spent 5 seconds thinking about Ft. Hood, but is still trying to get her "death panels," government paid abortions, and jail sentences for people who cannot afford to pay $1,000 to $2,000 per month for health insurance.

Zero doesn't give a doodley damn about those who serve in our armed forces, and these brave, selfless Americans know it very well. Actually, he'd rather arm ACORN, sick them on the American taxpayers, and phase out the U.S. military altogether. When are some forward thinking Democrats who care about America and the future of their party going to demand answers to questions about our pResident's past and his eligibility to serve in the office he's so thoroughly demeaning? When this poseur falls, he's going to break like a crystal wine goblet dropped on a tile floor. And he's going to take down that part of the Democratic Party that dotes on him. He's radioactive. How long until a majority notices?

Obama doesn't have the stones to go where he doesn't completely control the adoring crowds. I think his handlers' job is to keep him from getting boo'd. I think that might be the case at Ft. Hood. Might be hard to have it be all about him.

The reason he didn't go is because he couldn't drag his cameras along without it smelling of political opportunism. If he can't stage a photo op he isn't interested. Plus, he might be forced to say something mean about the shooter.

I just read on Fox News that he went to meet with Dems on Hill to ask them to "finish the job" on healthcare. . .he is so determined to push this down our throats but cannot even put this monstrosity aside to go visit the troops and families at Ft. Hood! Totally disgusting!

Zero's religious status is a question mark, but I'd say that he's a Muslim in effect, if not in fact. His official religious affiliation doesn't matter as much as what he does and says. His actions speak loudly and eloquently about what he really is.

If 0bama went to Ft. Hood, there would be lots of press coverage and people would keep the horror of the massacre in their minds. But, if 0 ignores it, maybe the press and the people will ignore is also. Consider the Big 0 to be a Big 0strich. If he can't see it, it isn't there and he can try to convince the press and public that it never was all that bad. They can be categorized as very serious regarding the research they have done over the last 18+ months - research that included the review of Obama's school entry application signed by his stepfather which listed him as "Muslim" - his slip of the tongue with George Stephanopolis regarding his Muslim/Islamic self. Oh, BTW, I'm one of the serious researchers and I am far from silly...
