Doesn't know the difference between the Medal of Honor and Medal of Freedom because neither the distinction nor the medals are important to him.

This was gratuitous name-dropping. How could he not begin with a remark about Fort Hood?

There is no "winner" either. Recipient, yes, winner, no.

Well in the 7 extra states in Obama's America, they have Congressional Medal of Honor winners. And their favorite college team is the Nitally Lions. We all need to stop being so emotional and provincial and embrace the hope and change.

Obama is becoming more and more despicable.

We are in a Global War on Islamic Terrorism. Naive voters have elected a president raised Muslim, surfacely adhering to Marxism, inexperienced in diplomacy and executive office, with little understanding of America, its people, language nuances, and history.. a showman who campaigns continuously though it is no longer working.

What I find absolutely intolerable is that ANY of our soldiers returned from combat to counseling from a crazy, Muslim psychiatrist who spouted treason. Is whoever responsible also carrying a Mideastern monicker???

When I first heard Obama's 'shout-out', I thought it was crass, but at least he was attempting to honor a military hero present - a Medal of Honor recipient. But apparently even that was a goof. Disgusting and disrespectful to our military.

Joe Medicine Crow has never received the Medal of Honor, which is not "Congressional" nor "won."

Dr. Medicine Crow has never claimed such a thing. He has, however, received the Presidental Medal of Freedom, and in 2008, a bill was presented in the 2008 Senate to award him the Congressional Gold Medal.

Looking at Dr. Medicine Crow's background, is suspect he is mortified to be called a "Congressional Medal of Honor winner", not to mention being the opening act for Obama's sympathy speech.

That the President doesn't know the difference among the above-mentioned medals, including the one that is in his direct power to award, shows how much they all mean to him.

I wonder how Dr. Medicine Crow feels about that Obama-awarded Presidental Medal of Freedom right about now.

All this will be excellent fodder for the 2012 campaign. Obama's pet goat moment indeed.

yeah he also earned his medal, unlike some people we know who just get a peace prize because someone thinks that muslims are all peaceful and since he is the most important muslim on the planet earth we should pin a medal on him.
