The Obamas have spoken candidly about their first-hand encounters with racism and secrets of their life in the White House. The President and First Lady recalled their experiences of prejudice including a time when Barack was handed someone´s car keys to fetch the vehicle at valet-parking outside of a restaurant. Michelle Obama told People earlier this month that their highly-privileged life in the White House has only been for the past six years and before that they were also exposed to prejudice. She said: ´Before that, Barack Obama was a black man that lived on the South Side of Chicago,

Monday’s edition of New York magazine includes an irresistible story about a Stuyvesant High senior named Mohammed Islam who had made a fortune investing in the stock market. Reporter Jessica Pressler wrote regarding the precise number, “Though he is shy about the $72 million number, he confirmed his net worth is in the “’high eight figures.’” The New York Post followed up with a story of its own, with the fat figure playing a key role in the headline: “High school student scores $72M playing the stock market.” And now it turns out, the real number is … zero. In an exclusive interview with Mr. Islam

Jeb Bush is exploring a 2016 presidential bid. The former Florida governor said in a post on Facebook Tuesday that over the Thanksgiving holiday there was a lot of discussion about the future of the nation. “As a result of these conversations and thoughtful consideration of the kind of strong leadership I think America needs, I have decided to actively explore the possibility of running for President of the United States,” Mr. Bush said. Mr. Bush said he plans to establish a Leader PAC next month to “help me facilitate conversations with citizens across America to discuss the most critical challenges

Columnist Charles Krauthammer said Jeb Bush’s probable entry into the 2016 presidential race makes him the “instant frontrunner” for the GOP nomination on “Special Report” Tuesday. The conservative commentator also said his entry will “discourage” some of the fringe candidates” from running.Earlier Tuesday, Bush said in a Facebook post that he will “actively explore” a 2016 candidacy “in the coming months.” “As a result of these conversations and thoughtful consideration of the kind of strong leadership I think America needs, I have decided to actively explore the possibility of running for President of the United States,” Bush said

That big CIA ‘torture’ report?

A new poll from the Pew Research Center is the first to gauge reactions to last week´s big CIA report on "enhanced interrogation techniques" -- what agency critics call torture. And the reaction is pretty muted. The poll shows people says 51-29 percent than the CIA´s methods were justified and 56-28 percent that the information gleaned helped prevent terror attacks. The word "torture," it should be noted, isn´t mentioned in the poll, but it has been associated with much of the coverage of the issue. And the numbers align nicely with polls on the use of torture, which shows that

Having learned nothing from its in-the-tank-for-Democrats Hillary Clinton cover debacle, People Magazine is helping out President and Mrs. Obama in their efforts to play the racial victimization card with an interview bemoaning racial profiling, accompanied by a photo that shows a lot of work on making them look like an appealing couple. This is the gem of the piece: "There´s no black male my age, who´s a professional, who hasn´t come out of a restaurant and is waiting for their car and somebody didn´t hand them their car keys," said the president, adding that, yes, it had happened to him. None?

A Conservative Waterloo:
John Boehner Must Go

It is time to stop thinking of John Boehner and the rest of the Republican congressional leadership as being cowardly and recognize them for what they are: part of The Ruling Class that believes it has the right to tell the rest of us how to live. Since conservative voters handed a majority in the House of Representatives to the Republican Party in 2010 there have been countless missteps and opportunities to stop Democrats. It began with that first lame duck session when Republicans gave Obama some victories that eventually boosted his popularity and washed away the memory of the

Mayor de Blasio said police funerals are a “sacred” moment that city leaders have a responsibility to attend and police unions calling for the mayor to stay away from funerals do not represent their members. “It’s divisive. It’s inappropriate,” de Blasio said in an appearance on The View of the plea by the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association for its members to sign forms asking de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito to skip their funerals should they die in the line of duty. “When an officer dies, it is a moment where the whole community has to come together in support of

War On Terror: The Taliban outdoes even the Islamic State in its latest atrocity extravaganza. In deploring the attack, the president conveniently omits mention of the group he led the U.S. in surrender to. British Comedian John Cleese in his farcical show "Fawlty Towers" got howls with his skit about hotel staff being under strict orders not to "mention the war" while German guests were staying. Cleese´s buffoonish hotel owner Basil Fawlty preceded to ask them if they´d like some "Hermann Goering" when he meant "pickled herring." Back in 2008, Cleese offered candidate Obama his services as speechwriter — a

Conservative talk radio icon Mark Levin blasted his fellow Republican Party members during his most recent show, slamming the leadership for caving on the budget and for, time after time, ignoring basic constitutional principles. “The Constitution is in tatters,” he said, adding that he was “one inch away” from breaking with the Republicans.

On Tuesday, former Florida governor Jeb Bush announced via Facebook that he would “actively explore” a presidential run – in other words, Bush announced that he would be entering the 2016 primary sweepstakes. His early jump effectively bars the candidacies of 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney as well as Florida Senator Marco Rubio. It also disheartens members of the conservative base, who see Bush as too moderate, unlikely to fight the Clintons tooth and nail, and as a representative of a family that helped destroy the Republican brand not once but twice. Leftist media members simply can’t understand the tepid

A majority of Americans believe the harsh interrogation practices the Central Intelligence Agency used after the 9/11 terrorist attacks were acceptable under the circumstances, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. And a plurality say they´d be acceptable to use in the future to thwart potential terrorist threats. In the poll, 51 percent say the interrogation practices used during the Bush Era were acceptable, while 28 percent say they went too far and were wrong. In addition, 45 percent think they should be used in the future, versus 28 percent who disagree. These numbers come after the Democratic-led
