Two Christian ministers who own an Idaho wedding chapel were told they had to either perform same-sex weddings or face jail time and up to $1,000 in daily fines, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in federal court. Alliance Defending Freedom is representing Donald and Evelyn Knapp, two ordained ministers who own the Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. “Right now they are at risk of being prosecuted,” attorney Jeremy Tedesco told me. “The threat of enforcement is more than just credible.” The wedding chapel is registered as a “religious corporation” limited to performing “one-man-one-woman marriages as defined by the Holy Bible.” However,

Today’s New York Times headlines: “Amid Assurances on Ebola, Obama Is Said to Seethe.” Said by whom, one wonders. The answer is as you would expect: “It’s not tight,” a visibly angry Mr. Obama said of the response, according to people briefed on the meeting. … “He was not satisfied with the response,” a senior official said. … Senior officials said they pushed Mr. Obama to name an Ebola coordinator…. At the meeting on Wednesday, officials said…. Administration officials insist…. “It’s not that people aren’t doing anything,” a senior official said. So the Times story is basically a plant by the Obama administration.

Amber Vinson, the second nurse in Dallas to contract the Ebola virus, has retained a high-profile attorney, her family said in a statement. In the statement, obtained by CBS affiliate WOIO in Cleveland, the family said they "are troubled by some of the negative public comments and media coverage that mischaracterize Amber and her actions." "Suggestions that she ignored any of the physician and government-provided protocols recommended to her are patently untrue and hurtful. In the interest of Amber and our family, we have retained esteemed attorney Billy Martin to provide us with legal counsel during this unfortunate and troubling time," the

Tennis star Serena Williams has accused the Russian tennis chief of making ´extremely sexist, racist and bullying´ comments after he described her and her sister Venus as ´scary´ to look at. Shamil Tarpischev, of the Russian Tennis Federation, made the remarks during an appearance on a local TV talk show this month alongside former Olympic singles champion Elena Dementieva. When Dementieva was asked what it was like playing against the Williams sisters, Tarpischev cut in and called them the ´Williams brothers´, before adding: ´It´s scary when you really look at them.´ The official was later handed a one-year suspension imposed by

President Barack Obama’s new Ebola "czar" Ron Klain has skipped another White House meeting on the Ebola crisis, a readout of who attended a Saturday meeting with Obama shows. Obama held the Ebola meeting after spending four hours and 40 minutes on the golf course at Fort Belvoir, according to the White House press pool report from the New York Daily News´ Dan Friedman. “The President on Saturday evening convened members of his national security and public health teams to update him on the response to the domestic Ebola cases,” the White House said in an email blast Saturday evening.

This is featured on Drudge at the moment:(Snip for graphic)The link goes to this Reuters story: President Barack Obama made a rare appearance on the campaign trail on Sunday with a rally to support the Democratic candidate for governor in Maryland, but early departures of crowd members while he spoke underscored his continuing unpopularity. When liberal news outlets talk about Obama in such blunt terms, things are grim. More: Most candidates from his party have been wary of appearing with him during their election races because of his sagging popularity. … A steady stream of people walked out of the auditorium while he spoke,

The threat of Ebola is generating a considerable amount of fear and misinformation across the country, not to mention a growing number of false alarms. Fears about Ebola have reached a fever pitch in recent days. Hazmat crews boarded a plane in Boston. Traffic was halted near the Pentagon when a woman fell ill on a bus. And at Cleveland´s airport -- several days after infected nurse Amber Vinson had passed through -- passenger Tamika Freeman was still worried. "It was a huge scare," said Freeman. "You know, I´m pregnant. A lot of people touch each other." Vinson was in

Bill Clinton wanted to run for president in 1988, but didn’t because “he was terrified that one or more of his countless paramours would come forward,” according to a scathing new cover story in Harper’s Magazine urging readers, “Stop Hillary! Vote No to a Clinton Dynasty.” The liberal monthly savages Hillary, saying that after Bill “found his nerve” fours years later, “an internal campaign memo from March 1992 listed more than 75 potential problems for the candidacy.” But the issues weren’t only “Bill’s many women,” writes Doug Henwood. “About two-thirds of the sore spots involved both Bill and Hillary, and 18 of

President Obama voiced his growing frustration over his administration´s handling of the Ebola crisis in a closed-door meeting on Wednesday. Convening his top aides in the Cabinet room after clearing his schedule for the day, the President let it be known how angry he was about how the government had handled key elements of the response. This anger no doubt stemmed from the news earlier that day that not only did a second nurse, Amber Vinson, contract the disease while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan in a Dallas, Texas, hospital, but that she had also been able to board a plan and

Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, leader of the Democratic National Committee, said Sunday that her party will keep control of the Senate next month, suggesting that GOP efforts to drag President Obama into races is a failed strategy. “We are going to hold the Senate,” the Florida lawmaker told “Fox News Sunday.” “The president is not on the ballot.” Her remarks come weeks after Obama argued that he indeed was “not on the ballot this fall” but that “every single one” of his policies are. Since the start of the 2014 election cycle, Republicans have tried to tie incumbent Democrats to some

Thursday’s claim by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry that lack of “progress” in the Israel-Palestinian peace process is helping fuel the rise of ISIS continues to reverberate both in Israel and the Middle East. Kerry’s remarks, which appeared to lay the blame for the rise of the ISIS terrorist army in Iraq and Syria squarely on Israel, are but the latest in a series of controversial comments made by America’s top diplomat that seem to highlight the Obama administration’s growing hostility toward the Jewish state. Speaking at a ceremonial State Department dinner commemorating the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha,

President Obama does not want to be a Supreme Court justice. He calls it "too monastic" for his own personality. Besides, in an interview with the New Yorker, President Obama acknowledges that he needs to get out of the "bubble" after what will be eight years as president of the United States. “I love the law, intellectually,” the president tell the New Yorker, which says he sounds "tempted" at the idea of being on the Court. “I love nutting out these problems, wrestling with these arguments. I love teaching. I miss the classroom and engaging with students. But I think being
