The reporter Donald Trump claims he´s never seen before says he spent a whole day with the bombastic billionaire while working for the Daily News — and he´s drawn Trump´s ire before. Serge Kovaleski, now a New York Times reporter, said he closely covered Trump´s launch of an airline in 1989."I spent the entire day with Trump, along with some other reporters, on the inaugural voyage of the Trump Shuttle, which Trump bought from Eastern Airlines in the late 1980s," Kovaleski told The News in an email on Friday. “Flying out of La Guardia, we spent a big chunk of

The Republican establishment is nearing full-blown panic about Donald Trump. The demise of Trump´s candidacy has been predicted by centrist Republicans and the media alike since the day it began. But there is no empirical evidence at all to suggest it is happening. (snip) “He has a real shot at this. He is the clear front-runner,” said Ron Bonjean, a consultant and former aide to GOP leaders on Capitol Hill.

Donald Trump, the presidential hopeful who believes himself so high and mighty he can’t possibly he wrong, is now claiming that he has no idea who the reporter is after mocking his physical disability just days ago. After days of defending his false claim that New Jersey Muslims were celebrating the 9/11 terror attacks by the thousands, Trump cited an article written by Serge Kovaleski, a Washington Post reporter who has since joined the New York Times. While the article only addresses rumors at the time and does nothing to make the claim truthful, Trump has run with it despite Kovaleski’s

The usual suspects were protesting again Friday and performing for TV news crews in Chicago. They disrupted tourists and holiday shoppers on tony Michigan Avenue. But what exactly were they protesting? The ostensible reason for the chanting street anger was the shooting of a knife-wielding black teen by a white Chicago policeman. The violent death of Laquan McDonald emerged last week on a disturbing police video released by court order. [Snip] The truth is the awful death is demeaned by another outbreak of the nation´s protest industry, one that unfortunately doesn´t move overseas. The telling tip-off is the presence of

A day after he was widely rebuked for mocking a reporter with a physical disability, business mogul and reality TV star Donald Trump on Thursday denied that he had done so and accused the reporter of “using his disability to grandstand.” Trump also demanded an apology from the New York Times, the reporter’s employer, which earlier in the week issued a statement condemning Trump for ridiculing “the appearance of one of our reporters.” The incident occurred Tuesday at a rally in South Carolina, as Trump was defending his recent claim that he had witnessed thousands of Muslims cheering in New

A bunch of people were shocked to find out over Thanksgiving dinner that members of their family support Donald Trump for president. (Tweets) The support for the real estate billionaire shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone paying attention to the presidential race so far. According to Real Clear Politics, Trump has the support of nearly 28 percent of registered Republicans in an average of recent national polls. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson sits in second place with just under 20 percent. But perhaps those who lamented their pro-Trump relatives on Twitter thought that it was other peoples’ families that are supporting

MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina—All politicians, if they are any good at their craft, know the truth about human nature. Donald Trump is very good, and he knows it better than most. Trump stands alone on a long platform, surrounded by a rapturous throng. Below and behind him—sitting on bleachers and standing on the floor—they fill this city’s cavernous, yellow-beige convention center by the thousands. As Trump will shortly point out, there are a lot of other Republican presidential candidates, but none of them get crowds anything like this. Trump raises an orange-pink hand like a waiter holding a tray. “They are not coming

As of November 23, there had been 2703 shootings which resulted in 440 deaths year-to date in heavily gun-controlled Chicago. That is an increase of approximately 400 shootings over the same time last year. The Chicago Tribune reported these numbers as part of their broader coverage of the 11 people shot, five killed, over the course of last weekend alone. Half of those wounded were shot on November 22 “between about 12:25 p.m. and 8:40 p.m.” Three of those killed were shot on that same day, between those same hours as well. It is worth noting that while this violence

Acknowledging that the motive of the shooter was still unknown, President Obama lashed out at the "easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them" in the wake of Friday´s shooting at Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs. An abortion-rights group, meanwhile, was quick to blame undercover videos discussing brokering of baby parts that were released throughout the year by the Center for Medical Progress. Robert Lewis Dear, 57, is scheduled to appear in court Monday. He killed one police officer, University of Colorado Officer Garrett Swasey, in the shootout, and two civilians

How radical, weird and out of touch have liberals on college campuses gotten since Obama came into office? It’s worse than you ever thought and although there is an almost unlimited number of problematic incidents to choose from, these 15 are particularly effective at getting across how bad things have become. 1) “College Students Say Remembering 9/11 Is Offensive to Muslims.... The everything-is-offensive brand of campus activism has struck a new low: Students at the University of Minnesota killed a proposed moment of silence for 9/11 victims due to concerns—insulting, childish concerns—that Muslim students would be offended.” 2) “Portland State University Offers

Atlanta — Federal officials are ordering Georgia to process food stamp applications for Syrian refugees. Jessica Shahin, associate administrator of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, sent a letter Wednesday to Bobby Cagle, director of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, which administers the food stamp program in the state. Gov. Nathan Deal last week issued an order directing state agency heads to prevent the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the state. Subsequently, the commissioner of the Georgia Department of Human Services sent a memo to agency staff instructing them not to take or process new applications for any benefit assistance

Capitol Hill Republicans are aiming to take the air out of President Obama’s push for a global climate deal at next week’s international summit in Paris, warning they will block vital funding if he tries to circumvent Congress. Obama and other world leaders are charging ahead with the two-week U.N. conference starting Monday, under heightened security in the wake of the Paris terror attacks. At a press conference alongside French President Francois Hollande, Obama cast the climate summit as a global statement of solidarity. “What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be when the world stands as one and shows
