IRS Commissioner John Koskinen referred congressional charges of corrupt Clinton Foundation “pay-to-play” activities to his tax agency’s exempt operations office for investigation, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned. The request to investigate the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation on charges of “public corruption” was made in a July 15 letter by 64 House Republicans to the IRS, FBI and Federal Trade Commission (FTC). They charged the foundation is “lawless.” The initiative is being led by Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican who serves as the vice chairwoman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which oversees FTC.

PHILADELPHIA — Advisors to Hillary Clinton are worried that Democratic white men are lying to pollsters and secretly plan to vote for Republican Donald Trump. "I worry that there is a bit of a secret Trump vote," said influential pollster Celinda Lake. She has proof revealed in polls that find more white male support when live people are doing the interviewing and less support for Clinton in anonymous online surveys. "The pattern is in the online surveys, even if you control for demographics, Trump does three to nine points better than in telephone surveys. So it really does suggest that

After slogging through a boisterous convention on the floor, Democrats were forced to make a last-minute adjustment to the on-stage decor, after a report pointed out there were no American flags present. Democrats unveiled a sleek stage to the nation Monday, after the convention had been in the works for months. As speaker after speaker took the stage, screens behind them produced stunning scenery of the country and cool grey backgrounds. But there wasn´t a single American flag onstage – notwithstanding the fact that most of the speakers were lawmakers, who each have Capitol offices festooned with flags and other

PHILADELPHIA— #NeverTrump Republicans plan to make waves by disavowing GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump in a speech Thursday at the Democratic National Convention. Lifelong Republican Doug Elmets, a former Reagan administration speechwriter and domestic adviser, said Monday he sees Mr. Trump as a “petulant reality TV star.” “I never anticipated supporting a Democrat, but Hillary Clinton is certainly the most prepared candidate probably in modern times to be president,” Mr. Elmets said in a video interview with The Sacramento Bee. “And given the alternative of a petulant reality TV star candidate in Donald Trump, the decision was very easy.” Mr.

In an interview Tuesday evening, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said he supports raising the minimum wage by more than one-third. The real-estate tycoon, who has frequently deviated from historic Republican orthodoxy on economic matters, said on Fox News Channel that he would increase the federal minimum wage from the current $7.25 per hour to $10. Mr. Trump said on the “O’Reilly Factor” that he would “raise it somewhat” and that while he’d prefer states to do so themselves, many weren’t doing it. “You need to help people, and I know it’s not very Republican to say, but you need to

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has brushed aside accusations that Moscow was behind the hacking of Democratic Party emails. He denied the Kremlin´s involvement in the scandal, as Wikileaks founder Julian Assange insisted that the release of the messages was a ´diversion´ being pushed by Hillary Clinton. The latest twists in the saga come just 24 hours after Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced she was resigning after the convention. Lavrov said in English: ´I don´t want to use four-letter words,´ when asked if Vladimir Putin or anyone in the Russian government was to blame. He was speaking

PHILADELPHIA — Former President Clinton took to the stage of the Democratic convention Tuesday seeking to soften his wife Hillary Clinton’s hard edges and testify to her life of public service, saying she’s the candidate who can deliver change. From her time nabbing segregated schools in the south to their emotional ups and downs — including the birth of their daughter Chelsea, and crying together earlier Tuesday over the death of a friend — Mr. Clinton said he and his wife are best friends. And the former president tried to reintroduce his wife after a quarter-century in the public eye,

(Video) During MSNBC’s coverage of the Democratic National Convention on Monday, NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd said that the convention is “a mess” and worse than the RNC was on the first day. Todd said of the DNC, “[T]his is a mess. This is messier — I was in Cleveland, first day. As messy as that looked, this is worse right now. I’m just telling you, it looks worse.”

PHILADELPHIA — Hillary Clinton on Tuesday became the first woman in U.S. history to win a major party´s presidential nomination, securing the top spot on the Democratic ticket after a divisive primary fight against Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. Clinton, 68, will face Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, 70, in November. Clinton won the nomination on her second try. After losing to then-Sen. Barack Obama in 2008, she served as secretary of state under President Obama. Clinton made history in 2000 when she won a seat in the U.S. Senate representing New York, becoming the only first lady to leap successfully

PHILADELPHIA — The Daily Caller is at the Democratic National Convention and it doesn’t look like there are any American flags. The stage is bland and grey, with no red, white or blue present. A thorough look at the crowd present also turns up no American flags. The Republican National Convention in Cleveland on the other hand was filled with Americana.

Stipulating that nothing is certain, it’s always seemed rather plausible if not outright obvious that Vladimir Putin prefers Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton. There’s the mutual praise, the Manafort connections and the shared vision. The mere fact that a major party nominee is openly talking about undermining NATO and bad-mouthing the UN is itself a major coup for the Russians. When Trump’s one-man-brain Trust mused this week that NATO-ally Estonia wasn’t worth defending, there must have been cheers across the Kremlin. Putin has long sought to sow dissension and strife within both NATO and the EU. From the vantage point

If Hillary Clinton Were a Man

What if Hillary Clinton were a man? What if she were a 68-year-old man rather than a 68-year-old woman? Would we think differently of her? Her raised voice would be lower. She would be better at physically commanding the stage. Her indomitability might be seen as manly. If she were taller and bigger, might she have been able to get away with saying nothing about her email server -- as Donald Trump has with his tax returns? As they say, I´m just askin´. I am asking because the dislike of Hillary Clinton is so palpable that it has become akin to
