Latest AP National Poll Is
a Nightmare for Democrats

This new poll from the Associated Press is about as dire a poll as Democrats could imagine two weeks before Election Day. Democrats are more trusted than the GOP on just two of nine top issues, the poll showed. The economy remains the top issue for likely voters — 91 percent call it “extremely” or “very” important. And the GOP has increased its advantage as the party more trusted to handle the issue to a margin of 39 percent to 31 percent. With control of the Senate at stake, both parties say they are relying on robust voter-turnout operations — and monster campaign spending — to lift their candidates in the final days.

(Video) President Obama was once a “citizen of the world” and a “political rockstar,” according to Charles Krauthammer, but now the lack of demand for him on the campaign trail has become a “a total humiliation" for the president. Krauthammer, a syndicated columnist and a Fox News contributor, made the comments on "Special Report with Bret Baier" Tuesday after Obama tied Democrats to his political agenda while discussing the midterm elections. "The bottom line is though, these are all folks who vote with me, they have supported my agenda in Congress,” Obama said. "This isn´t about my feelings being hurt.

Ferguson, Mo. – Michael Brown’s aunt believes Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson will “feel the wrath of God’s vengeance” for the shooting death of the 18-year-old. Speaking to MailOnline, Sheryl Davis believes Wilson committed murder. A grand jury is expected to decide by next month whether Wilson will be indicted in Brown’s death. “It’s murder and they will feel and see the wrath of God’s vengeance come upon them in a mighty way, just as he promised all who do evil in his sight,” she said. The shooting has sparked protests in Ferguson over the past two months as tensions are mounting following

President Doofus

Doofus is an unusual but appropriate appellation for President Barack Hussein Obama. What Is A Doofus? "Doofus" is slang referring to a boob, for which the thesaurus lists the following synonyms -- idiot, nitwit, dunce, fathead, fool, goof, goon, imbecile, jerk. Some might argue that these synonyms may be inapplicable. Perhaps, but a diminishing percentage would argue that none are applicable. Such a characterization of the president five years ago might have seemed radical or harsh. Even the few who felt that way are probably surprised at the incomparable ineptness of Obama and his Administration. Our current situation should not surprise. There is a

The Supreme Court’s recent decision not to take up challenges to state amendments banning same-sex marriage has had two significant effects – it has expanded marriage to 30 states and reignited the political conversation around marriage equality in the 2014 midterms. Since 2011, I have worked with Project Right Side to help Republican leaders navigate a radically changing electorate on the freedom to marry. While public acceptance of marriage equality has steadily increased, this moment may ultimately be looked upon as the point where Republican opposition to marriage equality began to fall in earnest. According to a recent poll of Republicans I

The Democrat mantra that voting fraud is rare takes another blow today with the stunning story of a GOP candidate unable to vote for himself in Cook County Illinois. The Illinois Political Review reports: Admitting his confidence in Cook County ballot integrity is shaken, State Representative Candidate Jim Moynihan (R-56), was shocked today when he tried to cast a vote for himself and the voting machine cast it for his opponent instead. “While early voting at the Schaumburg Public Library today, I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” said Moynihan.

Chicago - Early voting in Illinois got off to a rocky start Monday, as votes being cast for Republican candidates were transformed into votes for Democrats. Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan went to vote Monday at the Schaumburg Public Library. “I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” Moynihan said. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.” The conservative website Illinois Review reported that “While using a touch

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — More than 3,100 students — nearly half of them athletes — enrolled in classes they didn’t have to show up for and received artificially inflated grades in what an investigator called a “shadow curriculum” that lasted nearly two decades at the University of North Carolina. (snip) Instead, findings of a systemic problem in the former African and Afro-American studies department could lead to NCAA sanctions and possible dismissal of additional UNC staff. “I think it’s very clear that this is an academic, an athletic and a university problem,” Chancellor Carol Folt said. When it comes to the outlets that the most conservative Americans get their news from, it´s Fox News and everybody else. And by everybody else, we mean mostly a bunch of other conservative-leaning media. A new study from the Pew Research Center lays bare the increasing reliance on partisan and/or ideological news sources on the right and left, and both sides have trended in that direction. But when you compare the left to the right, it´s clear which side is more interested in consuming news from sources with which it agrees politically. Pew asked people which news sources they got

Bad news for people who love good news: Michael Sam, the NFL’s first openly gay player, drafted by the Rams, then cut, then signed to the Cowboys practice squad, has been released, according to the AP. Sam came to Dallas on Sept. 3, days after he was one of the last cuts from the final St. Louis roster. At the time, we were excited for Sam — not because he was a Cowboy, but because Dallas was expected to have an historically bad defense. Instead, they’re ranked a respectable 16th overall by Football Outsiders, meaning the unit doesn’t need help.

Denver - Hillary Clinton urged Americans not to vote for Republicans who dwell on the past, warning at a Democratic campaign rally Tuesday that conservatives seek to keep women´s rights "under assault" nationwide. Applauded by hundreds of supporters in suburban Denver, the former secretary of state lent her political celebrity to Colorado´s embattled Senate incumbent Mark Udall, who trails in the polls and has made securing constituent´s rights to abortion and contraception the central theme of his campaign. "Don't vote for people who proudly tell you they will never compromise, don't vote for people whose image of the future

Because it is once again election season, I am hearing from a great many people who sincerely believe RINO is the vilest of all four-letter words. The weird thing is that although I am about as conservative as a person can be, I wind up spending an inordinate amount of time defending them. I understand that people who take their conservative politics and values seriously wish every Republican did the same, and resent those who don’t. But we are Republicans and therefore, unlike liberals, we are not all the end result of the cookie cutter. It is easy for Democrats to
