What Donald Trump has Wrought

Before he managed to oust three deserving governors from the 2016 presidential race, I welcomed what Mr. Trump brought to the table. He dared to bring up issues that needed to be discussed but had been ignored by the mainstream media. His blunt responses to crises was a refreshing breath of air to the normally political doublespeak mouthed by candidates. Most of those who first supported Trump would tell me, "I wouldn´t vote for him but I like what he has to say." Now the unthinkable has happened. They now view Trump as someone they could support. Mercy.

Columbus, Ohio- Donald Trump said Monday that he witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers on 9/11 from the view in his apartment. "Many people jumped and I witnessed it, I watched that. I have a view -- a view in my apartment that was specifically aimed at the World Trade Center," Trump said Monday during a rally in Columbus, Ohio. "And I watched those people jump and I watched the second plane hit ... I saw the second plane hit the building and I said, ´Wow that´s unbelievable,´" Trump continued. At least 200 people are believed to have

Florida Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) stated that the US should “respond and defend Turkey if they come under assault from the Russians” on Tuesday’s “Happening Now” on the Fox News Channel. Rubio stated, “Turkey is a member of the NATO alliance, and so, if the NATO alliance is to remain vibrant, then we we have to live up to our commitments in that alliance. We can’t decide that we’re not going to work on behalf of one of these countries. Do we have concern about things that are happening in Turkey? I absolutely do. Erdogan

Since it’s evidently kosher to cite entirely impressionistic memories of 9/11 as though they were fact — given that this is what Donald Trump has done by making a three-day news story out of his claim that thousands of people celebrated the destruction of the Twin Towers in New Jersey — here’s what I remember. I was living in Brooklyn Heights. I was working as a columnist for the New York Post. I usually worked at home but in the weeks after the attack I came into the office. And believe me, everybody heard tales about celebrating in New Jersey.

President Obama, a ‘tortured genius’

A U.S. Navy SEAL teammate and friend once described the worst type of leader as a “tortured genius.” By this, he did not mean the artist or musician suffering from inspired hysteria, but someone who, no matter how obvious the failing or how fair and valid the criticism, accepts no blame and denies all responsibility. In the mind of such a leader, the rest of the world simply can’t see the “genius” in what they do. In truth, this type of leader lives in denial of the facts as they are, rationalizing actions and refusing to alter or adapt strategies to win. To such a person, maintaining the illusion that he is right is somehow more important

Valuable vehicles and equipment are being yanked from law enforcement agencies across the country by the Obama administration in the wake of the president’s post-Ferguson order -- as sheriffs and lawmakers tell FoxNews.com the equipment is needed, and losing it could put officers and the communities they serve in danger. “These things are useful tools and the president taking them away will put more officers in jeopardy and at risk of harm or even death. I don’t know how he can sleep at night knowing his actions will have those repercussions,” Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., told FoxNews.com. President Obama issued

While awarding the medal of freedom to director Steven Spielberg and other celebrities, President Obama jokingly suggested that the director of movies like “A.I. Artificial Intelligence” and “Lincoln” should make one about his presidency. “Despite redefining the word ‘prolific,’ a Spielberg movie is still a Spielberg movie,” Obama said as someone’s cell phone in the room began ringing. “Somebody is calling to see if they can book him for a deal right now,” Obama joked. “They want to make pitch … ‘so there’s this really good-looking President and…´” he hinted. Obama grinned as the crowd laughed and he went on to praise Spielberg’s movies

Back in early July I took to the op-ed pages of the Los Angeles Times to analyze the phenomenon of Donald Trump, placing him in the context of business-protest candidates past like Ross Perot, and predicting confidently at the end that “He’ll be gone by Thanksgiving.” With turkey carving 48 hours away (mine is brining peacefully right now), it doesn’t look like my prediction is going to come true. I can hear it already: “So who’s the turkey now, Hayward?!” I still say Trump won’t make it to the nomination, but right now I’m only about 60 percent confident of that outcome,

President Obama calls the upcoming climate summit with world leaders in Paris a “powerful rebuke” to Islamic State terrorists who attacked the city earlier this month. “What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be, when the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children,” Obama marveled, after previewing his attendance at the summit which begins next week in Paris. Obama made his remarks during a press conference at the White House today with French President François Hollande. He urged Americans to come together and be united

Why, dirty Americans, do you hate people from exotic, war-torn places? Why do you despise other cultures? Why do you so hate freedom of religion? Or, as President Obama wonders, why are you all so Islamophobic? And don’t you dare say it’s because Islamofascists just killed 130 innocents enjoying life in Paris last week! And don’t you dare say it is because Islamofascists flew airliners packed with innocents into the Pentagon and twin towers on Sept. 11, 2001! First of all, it is just a coincidence that all these terrorists were Muslim and openly seeking to advance their twisted religious views on all the

The Cosa Nostra has an unwritten code of conduct that shuns the slaughter of innocent people. That´s why, in lieu of a sane politician to place the security of Americans before the absurdity of political correctness, it´s no surprise that the Mafia has offered to undertake the role of ridding the Big Apple of ISIS. Giovanni Gambino, the son of a key member in New York´s notorious Gambino crime family, has proposed that the mafia, who he says is in a much better position than the FBI or Homeland Security to gather street-level human intelligence, is more than willing to provide
