Former Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush will not endorse Donald Trump, their spokesmen have announced. Presidents 41 and 43 said they would not back Trump, despite him becoming the presumptive nominee after his two Republican rivals dropped out of the race for the White House. Both of the former commanders-in-chief joined a growing list of prominent Republicans who have refused to back Trump´s run for the presidency. Texas senator Ted Cruz is suspending his presidential campaign for the Republican nomination following his loss to Donald Trump in the Indiana Republican primary, a senior Cruz aide tells ABC News.Cruz officially announced his 2016 presidential campaign on Twitter in May 2015, posting a video saying it will require a “new generation” to lead the country. “It’s a time for truth, a time to rise to the challenge, just as Americans have always done," he said in the video. "I believe in America and her people and I believe we can stand up and restore our promise,” the Republican senator

What happened to Ted Cruz? A month ago, he won the Wisconsin primary in a landslide and was poised to combat Donald Trump with a fresh burst of enthusiasm. Now he´s out of the race and Trump is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. Things happened in two cycles, some in recent weeks and others that plagued his campaign from the beginning. As Trump said last night, Cruz is tough and smart. But he made big mistakes as a presidential candidate. Cruz thought he could skip primaries in states that looked unpromising. He made a weak effort in New York on April 19

Donald J. Trump won Indiana’s Republican primary on Tuesday, moving him closer to claiming the party’s presidential nomination and delivering a devastating blow to Senator Ted Cruz and other Republicans hoping to stop him. Mr. Cruz had pinned his hopes on Indiana, which seemed to offer one of his best chances to deny Mr. Trump the delegates needed to secure the nomination before the party convention in July. But Mr. Trump, after obliterating his rivals in five states in the Northeast last week, held a strong polling lead in the state, which had 57 delegates up for grabs. His victory put him

SANTA MONICA, California — During an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, former Mexican President Vicente Fox apologized Wednesday for the vulgar language he has used regarding GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the southern border and invited the likely Republican nominee to Mexico to see the border from the other side. Earlier this year, Fox said that he would not pay for Trump’s “f*cking wall,” and called Trump ““Ignorant … crazy … egocentric … nasty … [a] false prophet.” Trump then called on Fox to apologize On Wednesday, he did so — in an exclusive interview with

I want to leave a note here, because I expect to have many occasions to link back to it in the next several months. Americans and Republicans, remember: You asked for this. Given the choice between a dozen solid conservatives and one Clinton-supporting con artist and game-show host, you chose the con artist. You chose him freely. Nobody made you do it. I will be reminding you all of that, from time to time.

The Justice Department has warned North Carolina’s governor that the state´s anti-LGBT ´bathroom bill´ violates civil rights laws and cannot be enforced. The department put the state on notice that it is in danger of being sued and losing hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding. The law limiting protections to LGBT people - known as House Bill 2 or HB2 - also requires transgender people to use public bathrooms that conform to the sex on their birth certificate. (Snip) Several other states have proposed similar laws limiting LGBT protections in recent months. In a letter to Gov. Pat McCrory, the Justice

Talk about raising the stakes: Hillary Clinton says the “whole world” is pulling for her to defeat Donald Trump in November’s election. In a fundraising email Wednesday morning, after Mr. Trump ousted his final major opponent the night before, Mrs. Clinton’s team said it was “unimaginable” that the maverick businessman would capture the GOP nomination. “I don’t know how else to say it: The whole world is counting on us to win this thing. And we owe it to them to step up,” wrote Clinton staffer Christine Reynolds. Mrs. Clinton, who has advocated for cutting the influence of money in

John Kasich is dropping out of the Republican presidential race, two sources familiar with the plan confirmed to CNN. Kasich´s decision came after he improbably became the last challenger to Donald Trump, who emerged as the presumptive GOP nominee Tuesday night when Ted Cruz dropped out. Even before winning his home state of Ohio in March, Kasich was facing pressure to get out of the race, with no clear path to victory. His campaign never became more than a spoiler run, designed to keep Trump from getting the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination before a contested convention. Kasich

To the dismay of many serious conservatives, including many in our AT family, the Republican primary voters have spoken, and barring black swan events, Donald Trump will be the GOP nominee. He is not a perfect man, but those Republicans who are contemplating a cup of hemlock instead of coffee this morning (as one well-known writer told me he was – jokingly, I hope -- in the wake of Indiana) need to take a deep breath and contemplate Trump’s upside potential -- for America, for conservatives, and for the Republican Party. Let’s face it: America has been locked into a downward

During the final days of Ted Cruz’s now defunct campaign, the GOP´s presumptive nominee Donald Trump repeatedly raised and amplified a largely debunked story in the National Enquirer linking Cruz´s father Rafael to John F. Kennedy´s assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. The story is based on a photo purporting to show Cruz and Oswald together in the days before that fateful November day in Dallas in 1963. Rafael Cruz had denied that he is the man in the photo, as well as any link to Oswald. Nevertheless, Trump referenced the National Enquirer´s tale several times in recent days, even seeming to suggest
