WASHINGTON -- The computer server that transmitted and received Hillary Clinton´s emails - on a private account she used exclusively for official business when she was secretary of state - traced back to an Internet service registered to her family´s home in Chappaqua, New York, according to Internet records reviewed by The Associated Press. The highly unusual practice of a Cabinet-level official physically running her own email would have given Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate, impressive control over limiting access to her message archives. It also would distinguish Clinton´s secretive email practices as far more sophisticated than some politicians, including

Every two years before the midterm elections, we hear Republican candidates promise that if elected they will rein in the Obama administration excesses – Obamacare, amnesty, trillion-dollar deficits, increasing government regulation, legislative transparency, and unlawful executive orders. Like Lucy promising Charlie Brown a shot at the football, Republicans promise each time that things will be different. Yet Lucy continues to lift the football at the last minute, leaving the hapless Charlie Brown kicking at air. Immediately after the November midterms, the president announced his amnesty plan.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) made her lack of enthusiasm for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech apparent throughout the remarks, applauding half-heartedly and then quickly exiting the chamber after the speech, before Netanyahu did. (Tweet) Pelosi faulted House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) for inviting Netanyahu in the first place. “It is out of the ordinary that the speaker would decide that he would be inviting people to a joint session without any bipartisan consultation,” she said in January. “This presentation will take place within two weeks of the election in Israel, and I don’t think that’s appropriate

It is never the right time to do the right thing in Washington, D.C. The phrase I heard most often from Republican leadership while serving in the House and Senate was, “This is not the right time to have this fight.” Whether the issue was balancing the budget, school choice, patient-driven healthcare, eliminating earmarks, raising the debt limit, ending big, crony handouts like the Export-Import Bank or any stand against the continued growth, favoritism and intrusion of big government, conservatives were always told to wait. Wait until conservatives have the majority. Wait until we have the White House. Wait until we are

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) hammered Benjamin Netanyahu Tuesday, saying the Israeli prime minister´s speech to Congress was an "insult" to the country. “The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel are rooted in our shared values, our common ideals and mutual interests," Pelosi said in a statement just after the speech. “That is why, as one who values the U.S. — Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech — saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension

Senator Elizabeth Warren and two other members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation plan to skip Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress Tuesday, saying they are protesting the invitation made by House Speaker John Boehner. Representatives Katherine Clark, a Melrose Democrat, and Jim McGovern, a Democrat of Worcester, also are planning to miss the event. Warren announced she would not attend the speech in a statement issued by her office Monday evening. “I strongly support Israel, and I remain deeply concerned about the prospect of an Iranian nuclear weapon, which I discussed in detail with Prime Minister Netanyahu when we met in Jerusalem

Perhaps Hillary Rodham Clinton shouldn´t run for president. Maybe she should stay at the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, where the former secretary of State could continue her life´s work of building stronger economies, health care systems, and families. Give paid speeches. Write best-selling books. Spend time with Charlotte, her beloved granddaughter. Because she doesn´t seem ready for 2016. Like a blast of wintry air in July, the worst of 1990s-style politics is intruding on what needs to be a new millennium campaign: Transparent, inspirational, innovative, and beyond ethical reproach.

President Obama said Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered “nothing new” in his objections to a potential U.S. nuclear deal with Iran. On the core issue of preventing Iran from building nuclear weapons, Mr. Obama said, “the prime minister didn’t offer any viable alternatives.” Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, the president made a point of saying that he had not watched Mr. Netanyahu’s address to Congress, but read a transcript of it later. “As far as I can tell, there was nothing new,” Mr. Obama said. Mr. Netanyahu warned lawmakers that the reported framework of a

Michelle Obama is taking daughters Malia and Sasha on a Spring Break trip to Japan and Cambodia in mid-March. Mrs Obama will visit Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan, from March 18-20 and end the trip with a March 21-22 stop in Siem Reap in northwestern Cambodia, the White House said on Tuesday. The White House made no mention of the girls joining their mother, but Japanese newspaper The Asahi Shimbun, quoting a Japanese official, reported last month that the teens will be part of the trip. President Obama, who was in Japan last April, will not join his wife and daughters.

WASHINGTON— The Department of Homeland Security won’t run out of money anytime soon. The House cleared legislation Tuesday that will keep the agency operating through the end of September after a standoff last week threatened to shutter the agency and furlough thousands of workers. The 257-167 vote sends the bill to President Barack Obama for his signature. Republican House Speaker John Boehner, who rarely casts votes, backed the bill, along with his top lieutenants. A majority of House Republicans opposed the bill. Just 75 GOP lawmakers joined with 182 Democrats to push it across the finish line. The legislation does
