Cleveland- Yes, Donald Trump is crazy. And, yes, the Republican party owns his insanity. Fewer than twelve hours after Republicans rallied in support of his nomination for the presidency, Trump once again implied that Rafael Cruz, Ted Cruz’s father, was involved in the JFK assassination. At a press availability during an event to thank campaign volunteers Friday morning, Trump revived suggestions that the elder Cruz was an associate of Lee Harvey Oswald, Kennedy´s assassin, and that they two were together months before the assassination. "I don´t know his father. I met him once. I think he´s a lovely guy. I

Philadelphia’s police union is blasting Hillary Clinton for inviting relatives of victims of police shootings to speak at the Democratic National Convention next week, but failing to include relatives of slain police officers. John McNesby, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, said the union was “shocked and saddened” by the planned choice of speakers at the convention, which opens Monday in Philadelphia. “The Fraternal Order of Police is insulted and will not soon forget that the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton are excluding the widows and other family members of police officers killed in the line of duty

The U.S. Capitol Police have offered to provide additional security protection for Texas Senator Ted Cruz following angry confrontations on the floor of the GOP convention in Cleveland, a law enforcement source tells DailyMail.com. The offer of extra protection came hours after Cruz left the Quicken Loans Arena Wednesday night being subjected to taunts and boos after he refused to endorse Donald Trump and instead urged Americans to vote their ´conscience.´ His wife, Heidi Cruz, had to be hustled out of the arena by a Cruz supporter fearful for her security. Cruz addressed Texas delegates Thursday morning and got furious blowback from Trump

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump used his remarks to campaign staffers and volunteers Friday to revive conspiracy theories linking Ted Cruz’s father with Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who killed President John F. Kennedy. “I don’t know his father. I met him once. I think he’s a lovely guy,” Trump said the day after accepting the presidential nomination in Cleveland. “All I did is point out the fact that on the cover of the National Enquirer there was a picture of him and crazy Lee Harvey Oswald having breakfast.” In May, the National Enquirer published a story claiming that Rafael

After Megyn Kelly was slammed for donning a spaghetti-strapped dress during the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, it appears she opted for a more modest outfit Thursday night. While covering the fourth and final night of the GOP convention in Cleveland, Ohio tonight, the Fox News star was seen wearing a more formal black dress featuring an asymmetrical neckline. The shoulder straps were noticeably thicker than the ones seen on last night´s form-fitting dress, with one strap featuring a cut-out, baring part of her left shoulder, while the other featured an overlay of white fabric. Her more modest look comes on the

Donald Trump plans to create and fund super-PACs specifically aimed at ending the political careers of Ted Cruz and John Kasich should either run for office again, after both snubbed the Republican nominee during his party´s convention this week, a source familiar with Trump’s thinking told Bloomberg Politics on Friday. The plan would involve Trump investing millions of his own money --perhaps $20 million or more -- in one or two outside groups about six months before their respective election days if Texas Senator Cruz or Ohio Governor Kasich stand for office again. The source said Trump is willing to

Donald Trump needed to give the speech of his life–he did that, and much more. He laid out an inspiring American Manifesto for our troubled times. And he did it his way.Not surprisingly, from start to finish, it is muscular and bold, leavened only by appeals to racial harmony and pledges of compassion for all. It offers a prominent nod to Bernie Sanders’ supporters in a bid to get some to jump the Democratic ship. Most important, it keeps faith with his campaign themes of putting forgotten Americans first. In contrasting his view with his opponent’s, the Republican nominee put it this

Conventions have multiple purposes, but the part that is televised in prime time has only one: to reinforce the themes and competitive advantages of the presidential candidate. That requires highlighting his strengths, minimizing his weaknesses and damaging his opponent. Three days of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland have produced a slightly different effect, leaving the rationales for Donald Trump´s candidacy in tatters. Consider. Trump the CEO. Trump´s never been much of a manager, as my Trump-authority colleague

The fullness of time will vindicate Ted Cruz´s actions at the National Convention this week, and as a bonus, the reaction has exposed that Donald Trump has indeed jumped in between the sheets with the Republican Establishment. On the second point, let´s not quibble over who seduced whom. I know that the conventional wisdom is that Cruz committed suicide. Good. Let´s check the scorecard of conventional wisdom. Almost everyone thought it was crazy in the fall of 2013 to say Cruz´s Obamacare filibuster would actually help Republicans in 2014 and that it would help Cruz´s career.

They didn’t riot in the streets of Cleveland, as Donald Trump said his supporters would do had things not gone his way. But you saw the raw essence of a riot, the madness and loss of reason, on display in four days of chaos at the Republican National Convention. For a campaign now devoted to “law and order,” the launch was mob rule: in spirit, in tone, in words. Long after we’ve forgotten Trump’s closing speech — that paean to self, that nightmare portrait of an America where the lights have gone out — we will remember the savagery just below

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — During the primaries, Donald Trump threw red-meat rhetoric to supporters, pledging to build a wall on the Mexico border and to ban Muslim immigrants. He even told at least one crowd that he wanted to punch a demonstrator who disrupted an event. Now that he´s the GOP presidential nominee, who needs to appeal to the whole country, some observers say he´s turning to tried-and-true code words to gin up racial animosity and fear among America´s white voters. Trump "didn´t get on stage and issue a bunch of racial epithets," said Emory University political scientist Andra Gillespie, who watched his

Friends, delegates and fellow Americans: I humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the presidency of the United States. … Americans watching this address tonight have seen the recent images of violence in our streets and the chaos in our communities. Many have witnessed this violence personally, some have even been its victims. I have a message for all of you: The crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end. Beginning on January 20th, 2017, safety will be restored. … America is far less safe — and the world is far less stable —
