Hillary Clinton will use a customized lectern at Monday’s debate to mitigate the glaring height difference with Donald Trump. New photos from inside the Hoftstra University debate hall show two lecterns — a short one and tall one raised internally with plywood. “Clinton is 5’4” and Trump 6’2” and her team wanted the podium modified or a box added for her to stand on so she won’t look short next to Donald Trump,” WABC radio host Rita Cosby emailed with snaps of the doctored podiums after getting a sneak peak inside the Hofstra University debate site. It was not stated which podium would

While white voters are Donald Trump´s stronghold, he´s not winning the country´s largest voting bloc by the same margins as his Republican predecessor, 2012 nominee Mitt Romney. Four years ago, the former Massachusetts governor received support from 59 percent of white voters, while President Obama, who won re-election, earned 39 percent, according to exit polls. Right now Trump is winning 50 percent support, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, while Clinton stands at 39 percent, the same number as President Obama. Among the other two large voting blocs, blacks and Hispanics, Trump is actually performing better than

When Donald Trump began his improbable run for president 15 months ago, he offered his wealth and television celebrity as credentials, then slyly added a twist of fearmongering about Mexican “rapists” flooding across the Southern border. From that moment of combustion, it became clear that Mr. Trump’s views were matters of dangerous impulse and cynical pandering rather than thoughtful politics. Yet he has attracted throngs of Americans who ascribe higher purpose to him than he has demonstrated in a freewheeling campaign marked by bursts of false and outrageous allegations, personal insults, xenophobic nationalism, unapologetic sexism and positions that shift according to

First lady Michelle Obama and former President George W. Bush shared a warm hug on Saturday while attending a ceremony to commemorate the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.President Barack Obama and former first lady Laura Bush also leaned into the embrace, and the two couples smiled in a moment of bipartisanship. Social media users took notice of the embrace, and the moment went viral on social media.

DEMOCRAT HILLARY CLINTON and Republican Donald Trump will debate on national television for the first time Monday night, and the stakes could not be higher. The presidency and, by extension, the country’s future — maybe the world’s — could hinge on what they say and how they say it. Or so we have been told — in breathless pre-event speculation about everything from whether the moderator, NBC’s Lester Holt, will intervene to correct a candidate who strays from the truth, to whether one candidate or the other will be able to goad his or her opponent into a campaign-altering gaffe

For those who didn’t watch my live commentary on tonight’s debate–that would be most of you!–here are my thoughts. 1) The first half hour was great theater. The moderator left Trump and Clinton alone, like a referee who lets boxers fight it out. The candidates went back and forth, for a while seeming to validate Trump’s suggestion that they might not need a moderator. Trump did very well in this segment, and the subject mostly under discussion, the economy, was vital. 2) The debate went badly downhill in the middle third, with a succession of irrelevant topics–Trump’s business ventures, birtherism, and Trump’s

Since policing is a problem, the police should be removed from communities altogether, according to Black Lives Matter founder Alicia Garza. Garza argued that the United States gives too much respect to police officers, explaining that when police do wrong, a few bad cops are blamed, rather than a “corroded and corrupt system.” “Quite frankly, many of our [Black Lives Matter] members are continuing to investigate what it would mean to have police-free communities. I think what we’ve continued to see over time is that no moral appeal is actually stopping the deaths of black people, whether they be armed

Wow. This is quite remarkable. Michael Savage is a very well known radio talk personality. The Savage Nation is a nationally syndicated talk show that is the second most listened-to radio talk show in the country with an audience of over 20 million listeners on 400 stations across the United States. Earlier today he was discussing his perspectives on the presidential debate and giving examples of current and anticipated debate bias. In addition, the broadcaster began discussing Hillary Clinton’s mysterious health condition that Savage believes might be Parkinsons. Almost immediately, and without any notification, New York (tri-state area) radio station WABC-Radio TV cut Savage

The FBI could reopen its investigation into Hillary Clinton´s mishandling of classified information if she fails to win the November election, according to a former National Security Agency analyst, especially in light of revelations made public in a Friday document dump by the agency. "The FBI completely ignored the appearance of highly classified signals intelligence in Hillary´s email, including information lifted verbatim from above-Top Secret NSA reports back in 2011," John Schindler, a security expert and former analyst for the agency, wrote in a Sunday column for the Observer, noting the agency revealed on Friday that it never questioned Clinton
